Arrow IC475 - Stampscapes Gallery {01-10-15}

I apologize for posting so late but my work day didn't end till 10PM PST! LOL Because of this please accept a small change on the typical program: I won't be posting a picture of my own inspired creation tonight, but I will be joining you tomorrow and playing along! Our inspiration site this week is the Stampscapes Gallery.

Here is a card that I made in the past using a simplified version of this technique:
My Sample Card

IMPORTANT: Images are stored in a Flickr gallery, but just ensure that you link off from the gallery page, otherwise you might get distracted by other Flickr galleries that are not part of the challenge -LOL. To double check your links, all hyperlink references should be prefixed with "http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinnakagawa/" and end with the number of your inspiration in the URL.

The Stampscapes gallery really illustrates the power of making scenes with stamps! This is a technique that takes a bit of practice, but once you get used to it, it's really addictive. Despite the brand behind the site, this is an art that does not require you use any particular company stamp. So pull out any stamps you have and give it a go! By the way, if you don't want to do a scene - no worries - just be inspired to do your own thing!

Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today .

Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from the Stampscapes Gallery.

Use the keyword: IC475 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.

IC475 Gallery

For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites (plus one that I found worth a smile!)… so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.

How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!

Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

There is also a Stampscapes II yahoo group that is very active and we have retreats in the Chicago area once a year if anyone is interested. This year it is in April I think the 9th thu the 12th in Yorkville IL about an hour from O'Hare airport. I will try and get out my scenic stamps and do something this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration, Karen

I'm glad I didn't have time for the F4A yesterday, it worked wonderfully for combining with this.

Default IC475, F4A255 Lighthouse Scene

Audrie- awesome pictures, thanks! I went with a lighthouse scene with a muted sky, accented with a sewn and gathered filmy ribbon duo. Here's Lighthouse Scene

Great challenge-something I have never done was a scenery card, and I'm not sure I did it right.
It's hard to see in the picture but the top portion are clouds and wind.

It wasn't until I dug into the videos that I remember I have some of these stamps! I'd hardly used them all those years ago... What fun it was to replicate that glowey look. I can tell I will not be buying their chosen winking widget as well as some shiny paper if I can even find any these days. I've attached both attempts, the first I tried too much and did not have the proper paper so it was streaky. The picture of it looks better than in person. I dug up some old shiny paper for the second attempt which I like much better. Hubby likes them both
