IC417 - Horchow for the Holidays {11-30-13}
In the mist of our most festive season we are all planning to entertain friends and family. Since our homes will be welcoming many people that we care about, we usually try and dress it up a bit (smiles). In light of that I found a very nice site that offers a variety of interesting and beautiful elements for the home, it's called Horchow. My favorite section is the Horchow Holiday section where I found a ton of inspiration to help me finish the last set of Christmas cards needed (Yay! I'm done!) So, whether you use an image in the holiday section, or from any of the nine other sections, I'm sure you'll discover plenty of interesting options for todays' Inspiration Challenge!
My guest hostess today is my predecessor SmilynStef (aka Stephanie) (the original Inspiration Challenge Guru)! I am so excited to surprise you with a visit from her because we have all missed her. I encourage you to revisit her gallery because everything she does is richly inspiring in so many ways!
Happy Holidays!
Audrie
We were so inspired that we just had to create two cards each!
Stephanie's 1st Card
Stephanie's 2nd Card
My 1st Card
My 2nd Card
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, I've uploaded 8 of our favorite images which are shown below. So you may just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. (Click on the images below to see them bigger.) Whether you choose one of those, or pick something entirely different, please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece. (I suggest you put the URL on a line by itself - so that we're sure everyone can link off to it.) All inspiration should link back to the Horchow site.
Use the keyword: IC417 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your keywords.
[B]Challenge Goals
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the pictures on the site. Remember, it can just be the color palette that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
IC417 Gallery
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Gorgeous array of holiday items on this site, Audrie! As I am going to be very busy tomorrow, I decided to make a card before I went to bed -- so it was a simple one. Here's my card:

This is an awesome site!! So much inspiration! I even found a tree topper I want! I told my dh it's "only" something like $180. He'd throw me out of the house! I'd throw myself out of the house!
I hope to find time to play, but after all the decorating there is all the cleaning! ugh! maybe this evening.

I chose the white dishes below for my inspiration. I didn't have the light green for the leaves (plant) so made mine into a Christmas card and colors. Crochet flower is from Laceyquilter who makes these. So talented she is!

Unless these are two turtle doves I still haven't made it into "holiday" mode yet , but I loved finding inspiration on Horchow to cover this notebook.
One more to do - I'll be looking for more inspiration later on...
