IC34 - Napkin
Inspiration Challenge 34 - Napkin
Big thanks to Anita (Nitsy73) for sending me this wonderful napkin to use for the inspiration challenge.
Oh, forgot to add - I did two cards this time - one inspired by the napkin, and another *using* a napkin. Bonus points* for anyone who can use a napkin on their creation!
The idea of the Inspiration Challenge is to train your brain to look at the world around you for ideas. You do *not* need to recreate the piece - let your creative juices run wild! Feel free to change the colors, adjust the layout, or pick a different theme -- this is all up to your own interpretation! There are no rules!
Please add IC34 to your keywords (do not use a space or #). If you have other keywords, use a comma to separate them. Adding the challenge number to the keywords helps us to see all the submissions together.
Just thought I'd check before I closed down for the night to see if the Inspiration Challenge was posted -- and here it is. What a gorgeous napkin. Will think on it overnight and get to work in the morning. Thanks, Karen.
Wow, Karen, what a fabulous napkin! I hope I get get some stamping time tomorrow (well, I guess that's today now). But I need some sleep first. Thanks for the challenge.

* Bonus points - the points don't matter, just like inky fingers Sorry - I watched a "Whose Line Is It" marathon!
GREAT napkin and inspiration piece, I still haven't done the asian art one and I so want to!! trying to finish up some swaps. :( thanks for these wonderful challenges!
Is my card really the first??? You must all be sleeping - it's 4PM here in Okinawa and since Karen posted this challenge early (thanks Karen)... guess I got a jump on it. Here's my card - it's combining this challenge with the sketch challenge - it's simple - no doo-dads on it as it's for an elderly lady. Thanks for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here is my second card for this challenge. I blocked each image like the napkin but went with softer hues of the colors. Thanks for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Phew... It's almost 4am but just had to finish this card. Starting tomorrow (well actually today) I won't be able to stamp for a couple of weeks so just had to get one more card in before my withdrawal begins.
Here's my card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
OH MY GOSH.... that napkin is SO pretty!! I HOPE I have the time and the desire later. I must make a trip to Maryland this morning. I'm meeting my ex M-I-L to pick up my son. This one is a "MUST DO"!!! Even if it's tomorrow afternoon before I have time to get it done!

Thanks Karen (and Anita)!!
Have a safe trip, my friend!
That napkin is terrific! I will hopefully have time to give it a try later today. Must go to a meeting at my upline's this morning. Thanks Karen for another fun challenge!
Wow Karen, this is gorgeous. Can't wait to play. We have a softball finals game first, then I can play. Thanks for the challenge!

Great challenge! Wonderful colors and images to work with! Still haven't done an inspiration challenge, this may be the one to get me started. But not til I get home tomorrow!
Since I didn't get to play last week I did 2 today ( a girls gotta get her fix somehow ) One I re-created from the napkin and the 2nd one I did as a collage and dbl embossed the butterfly :
I did this a month or so ago, using an actual napkin on a card...it was all for giggles but I thought I would share it here after reading this challenge. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

What a pretty IC piece, Karen--I couldn't get past the design, so pretty much went with the whole layout and colors. Used everything but the kitchen sink on it too (lol)! Napkin

So, I posted above, but now the whole card is gone. It says "picture does not exist." So, I posted it again. Does anyone know why this happened? It happened to two of my cards. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
edited this link as well...after third upload! New lesson learned, thanks to allees!

This happened to me a few weeks ago, I'm not sure if it was because I did a square card or because my title of the card matched another already posted.

If you do not give your photo a unique name when you save it as a jpeg, the SCS system will delete it as a duplicate. I was just in your gallery and I saw that your IC34 is 1 by clucker. The card you have with the S monogram is also 1 by clucker so the IC34 will probably be deleted again. Sorry this has happened to you. I know it is frustrating, but can be avoided by making certain when you save your card on your computer that it has a unique name.
I just had to make a card for this Inspiration Challenge using this pansy napkin. And I combined it with this week's Sketch Challenge too. Here it is: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for this great challenge!

Well, it was there for a while because I saw it and posted a reply. That is too bizarre! It was a lovely card.

I've been asked how I attached my napkin - I Xyroned a piece of white and laid down the napkin (this is also how I do faux silk, I just left out the crumpling part this time).
