We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
I am so excited to have Harriet (aka hskelly) as a guest host this week. She has been delighting us with her wonderful gallery since late 2004 and is definitely one of my favorite stampers. We both LOVE watercoloring, so this weeks inspiration site was truly a joy for us - I couldn't stop making cards! I wanted to just share two with you - but what the heck! I hope you find yourself just as inspired with our inspiration site: The Color Watercolor Etsy Store with artwork by Joanna Szmerdt / asia [!at] sumi-e.pl.
Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today. Please remember that all submissions should link back to the Color Watercolor Etsy Store.
Use the keyword: IC455 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites...so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
Beautiful site ladies. Here's my card.
I couldn't stop at one! Here's my second card.

Reason: add another card
Ok, this is my first attempt at watercolor - I love that this challenge forum pushed me to try it finally..! I was a little overwhelmed and very unsure of what I was doing - but here is my card anyway. Watercolor Hello
Watercolor has always been my first love when it comes to art. I started out in school doing watercolor with pen/india ink. After many, many years I've come back to it again. I won't be able to play the challenge until Monday. Weekends are our family time. But... come Monday morning, I'll be painting and loving it!
Thank you Harriet for hosting the challenge this week. Your gallery is just chockablock with beautiful and inspiring watercolor pieces.

Awesome site, Audrie! I was inspired by the gold sea shell watercolor and created a beach with seagulls, with fabric and twine embellies. Here's Beach Scene

I hardly ever have time to do the IC anymore, but I'm so glad I checked it out this week. There was so much inspiration at the Etsy shop, I just had to play. I can see how you got carried away. Here's my card.
Here's my card for the IC455 Color Watercolor Challenge. Thank you so much Audrie and Harriet for the wonderful challenge. I've included a little thumbnail of my card and Asia Szmerdt's original piece of art work.
