IC293 ~ Maggie Austin Cake {07-16-11}
Inspiration Challenge 293 ~ Maggie Austin Cake
This week’s Inspiration Challenge was suggested by Melody ( lacyquilter). She thought we would all find inspiration from the elegant edible designs of Maggie Austin Cake. Exclusively custom and exquisitely tailored, Maggie Austin designs display symmetry, elegance, and sophistication with the subtle yet unmistakable mark of haute couture.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, I’ve uploaded five of my favorites … so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. The rest of you, remember to let us know which item from Maggie Austin Cake that inspired you.
Use the keyword: IC293 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
lacyquilter’s sample ~ Exquisite
My sample ~ Best Day Ever
IC293 Gallery
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Thanks for the lovely inspiration site, Steff and Melody. That gal Maggie has real talent for sure. I chose the Carolina Cake for my inspiration to create an anniversary card. I substituted a coral hue for the Magenta - seemed to fit better for the the couple that will receive the card.

Oh Stef!
I didn't really have time today but you twisted my arm with these stunning cakes!
Here is my "Bloom ATC".
I took inspiration from the center cake that you supplied us for samples.
Thanks for the fun challenge!
Now...I'm back to work! LOL!
Hugs,
True

This is a beautiful inspiration site, and I think I gained 10 lbs just looking! But there's a cake with bees all over it . . . Please, friends don't ever give me a cake with bees on it! ! ! EEEeek!
The gallery is sure filling up with some beautiful cards including some that duplicate the cakes very closely! Great job everyone!

Those cakes were sculptures, not food! Beautiful inspirations to be sure. I chose the bees cake for my card.
Thanks for the eye-cake this weekend!

Some stunningly beautiful cakes over at Maggie Austin Cake, but I wasn't able to capture the photos individually either - I chose the "Lavendar Anemones" and "Purple and Yellow Pansies" cakes to be inspired by ... and came up with this:
Purple Pansy Fairy
Great find, Melody, and thanks for the challenge, Stef

Love Your Bliss IC293
Here is the lovely Maggie Austin cake Gradient Frill Cake that inspired my card:

And ... here is my card ... a day late and dollar short! No kidding! I think I used a half of a new distress ink pad just dying the flowers! But it was fun to make.
