A busy day ahead as well as a busy weekend with a million things to get done, but somehow I will squeak in some time for my challenge cards. I do wish they were posted early so I could get them done before the busyness of the day takes over.

CHallenge is up...I think I could make 500 HYCCT cards today by using the "one" piece of background paper that I just had to have!
Well, of course that "one" piece is in a package of at least 25 pieces so add those and maybe there are more than 500 pieces (just remembered a box of GKD that I have hidden from others that come to stamp!) ;)
Location: In the '82 Los Angeles underground, looking to hire...The A-Team.

LOL - so when I come stamp, I'm so looking for that GKD box.

Looking forward to your multiple cards coming up!!! lol!
I do so know what you mean, it's that gotta have it sheet, I have so many of those!
This is a busy month for me. I've only done three or four cards so far. I have surgery scheduled for later this month so I know I won't be doing a lot. But I guess every card counts, right? So I'll do what I can. I hope to get to Ann's challenge today but taking dad to two appts and that tires me out. Not complaining. Love my parents and appreciate that I have them around yet and can give back some to them.
Working on my card with an intense toddler beside me! Always takes her a little bit to find her play groove. And I always forget to turn on some Pandora. So that's done, so hopef she finds her groove soon!!

I was just thinking this morning that as hard as caring for Mom in her last days was it was such a joy to be able to care for her that way. So thankful she didn't have to suffer long but would have gladly spent more time being one of her caregivers. Treasure the moments.
I think it was kramomma who shared "People before paper" with us during one of these challenges, and it has become the phrase I say to myself when life interrupts my plans.
I'm behind this year, too. Not sure when or if I'll get caught up. I'll have to think in terms of quality not quantity this year and see how I do. My excuse isn't necessarily business. I just don't have any MOJO for card making lately. I'm totally addicted to pocket letters.

Can you incorporate a pocket letter into a challenge? Would be a way to enhance a plain DP with a pocket attached!!
Sometimes when the mojo leaves you need to reinvent it!!

I actually learned it from Angie who loves paper and all things pink... :p
LOL! I must admit, it took the wind out of my sails at firstfeeling so un-artsy myself and wanting more time to be artsy! But then I felt the inspiration hitting home and was like "Yeah, I wanna' try thatthat will be quiet time treat this afternoon"!!
DD3 hasn't been napping the last two days, but I think I'm going to get her to nap today! :-P
That card was so fun to do - I have a few more done in acrylic HERE - this was a less messy twist. You could use any shape as a template, too - it doesn't have to be a teacup. The colors I used for the background were BG3 and BG5 (Touch Markers - medium blue greys).

I take Metamucil every night....my kids tease me that I've got the munchies for Metamucil. ;);) I use Benefiber in my coffee in the morning too. They aren't cheap, but I often get them when they're on sale or better yet at my local ding and dent grocery store. I have some, shall we say, repercussions from giving birth to 6 kids that require me to have the high fiber intake. Helps with my heart disease risk too. It's worth the $$ to me for sure.
Have you tried the Thomas' Multi Grain English Muffins. They've got 8g fiber and 5g protein in each with only 100 calories.
Gail,
Had my muffin for breakfast this morning!! Thank you for telling me about these! Made my spouse pick some up for me on his way home from work!!
With all the other medications I take it is always hard to squeeze in Metamucil - needs to be taken so many hours away from regular medications.

Anyone is good for me!! Can't wait to see them!!
I laughed so hard at that bird, almost fell off my chair in my office!!

Okay...what I don't understand is...
is the dark print the original background color or the light?
Either way...I can't comprehend even how to color a tea cup let alone draw one! Ain't happening but I'm going to have a great time using LOTS of background paper because I have LOTS! :p
The lighter color is the original dp. She used blue grey markers to shade around the shape of the teacup that she drew. The blog post that Dina linked shows her using Gelli prints instead of dp....I like that idea too. I think you could cut a large diecut to trace as your template. You could even then spray or sponge around using it as a reverse. I'm going to have to explore the possibilities!
Back from lunch and picking up DS at the ortho. Came home to find DD spontaneously sweeping and mopping the kitchen knowing that our company is coming around 5 or 6 tonight. Does a mother's heart good!
Whew, naptime soon I hope. Some days dealing with an intense 2 year old makes going to the hospital to have a baby sound just quite lovely!!! Argh! She even fell out of the jogger stroller when we just went for our walk. Didn't get hurt, but honestly! Sit on your butt, relax and enjoy the ride!!!
Oh my word, that sounds delightfully fun!!! Not sure it's something I can get overly involved in right now, but I might trying send something like to a few friends just to give it a try!!

You know she shows on her blog that she saves them in a binder, for me I scan every card, etc that I get to cut down on all the stuff that is taking up space. I only save family cards, wedding invitations, birth announcements, etc
I think I would rather make cards out of all the stuff that I would receive from one of those pocket letters. Remove the items and use the pocket again and send it back never having to replace the pockets!! Am I bad!!
Ok all you crafty stampers.........now that you're all in major MOJO mode.....MMM..... ;) come check out the Hostess Call out and theme for December's VSN and sign up!!!
If you've been wondering what it's like to host a VSN challenge...it's super easy and fun!! We love newbies!!
Lee,
So do I have this right that some pocket pals are used for just giving stuff to people and others are saving them as a form of letter.
I guess I am still trying to understand this new fad.
The best explanation is to think of them like trading cards....but with little notes and/or goodies or crafty supplies and sending them off like the old days of having Pen Pals! In fact, some groups hosts swaps and send each other a set of these in one of the vinyl pocket sleeves with various themes.
