I'm with you, Polly....stamp early or stamp late, but in between places to go and people to see and books to read. : )

That's why I love those early morning posts of the card for the day!
I am at work with no computer access often during the day, & I'll see the card challenge before I go to work. I can plan my card off & on during the day, and make it quickly when I get home.

I am running out the door now for work and will peek in again probably in a couple of hours. ( no one has any questions about today's right?)

UHM...I just realized that my winter card has what appears to be yellow snowflakes on it!

Ha...something about that is making me split my gut...

Sometimes I really don't think through my cards...this is a bit obvious today...

How about the snowflakes having the sun sparkling on them? Wouldn't that make them a different color? Or how about sunflakes? ; )

How's everyone doing? Took a long break to help DD make cookies for her swim team....ended up doing two batches as the first recipe was a fail! Then it was right into supper prep. Just finished round 2 of cooking (made fish so waited til the swimmers were home to cook theirs). Started a small fire on the broiler pan during round 2 so it really stinks in the house! Fortunately it is warmer today so I can open some windows. The sauteed Swiss Chard and Mushroom Risotto with Smoky Gorgonzola were perfect though!

Doing good here. Still present and pregnant! Got my card done for today and all the necessities that go with that (uploaded, blogged). Closing up the day now with dd3 in the tub. Then after she is ready for bed, I can go have some quiet time. DH always puts her to bed now!

Looking forward to tomorrow's challenge!

Or I might whip up some banana bread...a recipe I saw with whole wheat flour. (Whole Wheat Banana Bread. - Sallys Baking Addiction) I need a little something healthy to eat with some peanut butter on it.

Does anyone have a recipe for a muffin that is really high in fiber that tastes good?

I am suppose to be a Metamucil but it gets expensive when you are suppose to take it twice a day!!

Looking for something else to have, that would freeze nicely so I am able to take it out when I need it.

Ann, can you eat almonds? ( I snack on raw almonds and I think there is supposed to be lots of fiber in nuts?)

I have one. I'll go dig it out and post it to the recipe thread. They're oat bran muffins with dried fruit bits.

Stacy,
I have mesenteric colitis, so a lot of nuts will irritate my stomach, its been a bummer. Was hospitalized twice last year for it. If it happens again they will have to remove parts of my colon.

The doctor said my colon had a stroke!

Mmm, those sound wonderful. Likely could use craisins or raisins for the dried fruit right? I might have to bake those tomorrow...would be nice to have on hand after baby is born to get/keep me going! TFS!

I have a yummy recipe for PB banana bread if you want it. We got it from the owners of the Fossil Rim Lodge when we stayed there - it makes a great loaf or muffins.

Houston, we have a problem...

Not sure where I got the idea for one of my cards...and I obviously now am off-kilter and frustrated with myself...

Can't figure it out tonight...will have to wait for a new day!

Why sure, share away! Sounds lovely. Bread is out of the oven and I've already snitched a small piece with peanut butter on it...all melty. Yum!!

I take Metamucil every night....my kids tease me that I've got the munchies for Metamucil. I use Benefiber in my coffee in the morning too. They aren't cheap, but I often get them when they're on sale or better yet at my local ding and dent grocery store. I have some, shall we say, repercussions from giving birth to 6 kids that require me to have the high fiber intake. Helps with my heart disease risk too. It's worth the $$ to me for sure.
Have you tried the Thomas' Multi Grain English Muffins. They've got 8g fiber and 5g protein in each with only 100 calories.

Ann,
Do you like black licorice? I have a recipe for "Licorice Treats", and most people can't eat more than one at a time. Course, I can eat 2 or 3 and it doesn't affect me....not a muffin, but really yummy and fiberlicious! Let me know~

Black licorice was my mother's favorite treat, she loved them! Not my favorite but I have a daughter-in-law that absolutely adores black licorice! So I would be very happy to have the recipe.

I forgot to mention that I am also highly allergic to dairy, eggs (if baked into things not so bad) shrimp, red meat, and of course the list is way to long for antibiotics! All this stuff started to happen after the birth of my second child. Was very sick during that pregnancy. Lost 13 lbs in my 3 month and 9 days in the hospital!

I am also type 2 diabetic!

I still look at all these things as little obstacles, not things that bring me down, just live with it! So many others suffer way to much!

My reason for going so strong for the HYCCT event is number one, my spouse is a cancer survivor. He had prostrate cancer and was in the hospital to have it removed for our 25 wedding anniversary! He is cancer free and I pray that it will not come back in any other form!

I typically have Quaker Oat Bran but any brand will do. We add it into our instant oatmeal too to boost the fiber and fill the bellies more.

It looks yummy Roberta and I bet it could easily do without the anise at all or with a different spice substituted if you don't want the licorice flavor.

I suppose, Gail, but then they wouldn't be called Licorice Treats! What kind of spice were you thinking would taste well with these ingredients? I have a brother who doesn't like licorice....he tried one and said, "Ew...it tastes like licorice!" His wife said, "Duh!" Lol If you try them, be careful not to eat too many! ; )

The recipe sounds similar to what Larabars are made of and those can be all sorts of flavors....You could add apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice, gingerbread spices....all sorts of ideas come to mind with that fabulous base to work with.

Love all the other ingredients except for the anise! Will have to try it substituting a different flavor but also a small batch for my daughter-in-law!!
