Hello Scrappers. It's almost time for IFC 2010 and our theme this year is "Mixing it Up!" I want to offer something for everyone this year so each week of the month we'll focus on a different type of challenge. For instance:
The 1st Monday of every month might be "Scraplift Monday"
The 2nd Monday of every month might be...
The 3rd Monday of every month might be...
The 4th Monday of every month might be...
I think you get the idea. I'm gonna add a new post to this thread adding what each Monday will be so you just have to stay tuned!
I had planned to make 2009 a really awesome year for you guys and my life just sorta fell apart this year. And for that, I apologize. I am grateful to all of you who have stuck by me and supported my challenge. You are simply the best and you are the reason I do this. God bless you all. ;)
The beginning of every month is always a bit hectic. Bills are due, deadlines have to be met, etc. With out lives so full of family commitments, jobs, friends, chores, and plenty more, it's easy for our scrapbooking to get shoved into the backseat. Not any more!
The first Monday of every month I will share with you a layout or two that can be made in minutes. Drawing inspiration from the "Made in Minutes" column in Scrapbooks etc. magazine and the special issue "Easier-than-Ever scrapbooking 2" from Creating Keepsakes, I will scan in and upload the featured layouts as well as the instructions for re-creating them. All you have to do is choose the one you would like to make in minutes.
Let's get scrapbooking out of the backseat in 2010! Join me on the 1st Monday of every month for Made in Minutes Monday.:p
Birthdays, holidays, weddings, school functions and other milestones in life make up the greater portion of our scrapbook albums. But, it's the little moments, the everyday details, that tell the real story of our lives.
Inspired by "That's Life" by Nic Howard, scrapbook artist and Memory Makers Master; I will challenge you to tune into the details that make up your days and scrapbook them. It's all about finding inspiration in the everyday and creating pages we wouldn't normally think to create.
Topics covered will include:
The Essence of the Day
The Essential Me
Everyday Moments in the Past
Everyday Moments in the Future
People Around Us
My Environment
Life's Little Lessons and Words of Wisdom
Let's tell our story in 2010. Join me on the 2nd Monday of every month for That's Life Monday;)
At this point we will have made it half way through the month and could use a little R & R. I can think of no better place to turn than "scrapbook PLaY", a special issue from Simple Scrapbooks magazine.
I will share with you a playful page prompt, a quiz, journaling starter, or a fun design trick from the book and challenge you to create a page with it.
We are gonna have more fUN saving our memories in 2010. Join me on the 3rd Monday of every month for Scrapbook Play.
Whether you are participating in Project 365, Project Life, 52 weeks, or just an avid photographer, you no doubt have a ton of photos on your hard drive from documenting your everyday life one day at a time. Some of you will even make resolutions to use your camera more in 2010.
On the 4th Monday of the month, take a moment to review the photos you've taken so far and create a layout that is an overview of your month. You could also choose to make the layout your favorite photos from the month. Either way, at the end of the year you will have an album that you could easily call "snapshots of our life in 2010".
Join me on the 4th Monday of the month when we'll create our Month in Review.
Well, that's everything I've planned for 2010. I'd love to know which challenges you think you'll really like and your overall thoughts on the changes for 2010. These challenges can be played by the traditional and digital scrapbooker. And there is never a deadline for any of our challenges on SCS unless otherwise posted for contests and Virtual Scrapbooking Nights.
I'm looking forward to scrapping with you in 2010. :p
This all sounds like fun and how organized you are too! I think it will make it easier for you also and thanks for making is easy for us digi scrappers! Thanks for all you do! Have a Happy Holiday season and "talk" with you on the 4th!
These are all great ideas for scrapbooking inspiration! Although I rarely have time during the school year for scrapping, I will be checking in from time to time to see what you guys come up with. Hopefully in June I can do a little CATCH UP!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Oh, Jenn - I love how you have zeroed in on so many different ideas that we can more specifically focus on each week. It sounds like a blast--and I like them all! You've really been doing some thinking and planning! Thanks!
I'm so glad to hear that you all are liking the new ideas for 2010. I can hardly wait to get started. I just really felt like I needed to streamline things to make it easier for everyone. :p
Jenn, all of these are FANTASTIC! I couldn't pick a favorite! ;) I hope to be much more active in the challenges this year! Thanks for the great inspiration!

Wow Jen! You really have some incredible ideas here and I'm going to try more often to play! I love the fourth Mondays...it will come in handy for me to stay on track w/ my 10 on the 10th Album I want to do for 2010 :-)
MaryPat- I love your idea of 10 on the 10th for you photos. I may have to try this. Yesterday I purchased and downloaded an e-book from Ella Publishing entitled a year of your life. It has some great info and photo ideas that I'll be sharing for the 4th Monday challenge. Basically it teaches you to create a year in your life album in 24 layouts. So, I think that's gonna be pretty cool.
Jenn, it looks like you have a fabulous scrapping year put together for us, great ideas, can't wait to see how it all comes together on my end!!!

I'm really looking forward to the 4th Monday. So often we overlook all those candids that we're not really sure what to do with. This would be a great way to showcase them. So you've done your part Jenn, now it's up to me to do my part ;)

Your ideas sound fun and inspirational. I have been scrapping for 12-15 years and in the last couple of years I have been a BIG SLACKER! I have spent most of my time making cards. So...I am not giving up cards but am definitely going to get scrapping. I will try to play along with you at least once a month and possibly more. You know scrapping is addicting so maybe once I get back into the swing I will scrap more often. Looking foward to the fun.

I am definitely subscribing to this thread. I have already planned to do a lot of scrapping this year, and here is a nice built-in method to do so! Thanks for this structure, it is straight forward but not too closely binding. Looking forward to Mondays in 2010!
WOW! I'm overwhelmed by all of your enthusiasm. I'm so glad to hear that everyone has found something in at least one of the Monday challenges to motivate them to scrap. I look forward to scrapping with all of you in 2010 and I can't believe it's almost here!
I spent most of my time since Oct making cards, either my Christmas cards or sets of cards for other people for gifts. In all, I made about 250 cards, which is great, but I haven't even looked at my scrapbook since then. I got everything out today, and actually did about 4 pages, so I was delighted to find this thread and challenge tonight. I had never seen it before. It is always interesting how the universe delivers things just when you need them. I an especially interested in weeks one and the Simple Scrapbooks one.

Welcome to the Scrapbook Inspiration Challenge Forum Leah! Glad you found us. We do tend to get lost with all the rubber stamping and cards but, we're here and we get alot accomplished and have plenty of fun. Looking forward to seeing some of your pages!:p
This sounds fantastic Jenn!! Can't wait to get started! I'd say I'm looking forward to the 4th, but I'm really not ... 1st day back at work since the 24th :(

Lanita and Deb,
Thanks for stopping by! I know what you both mean about trying to keep up. Life happens...it just does. That's why I finally embraced the fact that scrapbooking for me is not about being caught up. It's the creative process for me that I enjoy. But, I also do not have children of my own that I feel like I need to keep up record keeping on. Since I scrapbook my nieces and nephews and my personal life, I can just tell the stories that inspire me. Play that challenges that you love when you can and don't worry about the rest. And there is never a deadline for any of our challenges at SCS.
I know some of you are new to the challenges and staying tuned to this thread for updates so.... I have posted the first Made in Minutes Challenge for tomorrow. Got my sample done early so, I posted the challenge early.
You can find it here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I hope you are inspired to make something in minutes.:p

So although I found the link to the new challenge, I have not been getting notifications of posts in this thread, even though I am subscribed to it, and have instant notification. Any ideas? My internet is working fine, and I have been getting notifications of the many other threads I am subscribed to.

I'm thinking this is just a general thread with not many new posts since there's no actual challenge in this thread. If you receive this post, then you'll know the notification works.
I agree with Wendy. And I've noticed on my email notifications it says something like "you will not receive more notifications if you do not visit the forum again"...not exact wording but, something like that. So when you get a notification of a new post try to click on it and come on over because ususally there has been more than one post since that email was sent. Hope this makes sense. ;)
I don't get email notices, but I do subscribe to the forums I participate in. To do that, click on "Thread Tools" on the top right-hand side of the page. Click on "Add Subscription" (or something very similar). It will bring you to a second page; then click on "Add Subscription".
Then to access this forum, in the left-hand column on the left side of your page, click on "My Subscriptions" and it will bring up every forum that you have subscribed to. Click on whichever one you want to access.
Then if you want to delete your subscription, go again to "Thread Tools" and click on "Delete Subscription"
I find this the easiest way to access my favorites. If you have posted to a forum, I believe it is automatically in "My Subscriptions"
