SBDC35 March 9, 2007 Hello ladies...this week has been crazy busy and so has our weather here in good 'ole KY. But as they always say, "If you don't like the weather in Ky, wait 5 mins and it will change." LOL and it seems to be doing just that this week...come on Spring. Now let's spring on into our Scrampin Diva of the Week's gallery and gain some fun ideas for some new pages. I noticed she is trying a "cleaner" style and she even noted this on one of her uploads. I think everyone will enjoy this gal's gallery very much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Please help me welcome to our scrapbooking corner of SCS our Diva for this week: ann2
CONGRATULATIONS ANN! Thanks for sharing all of your beautifully scrapped pages here on SCS for us to all enjoy! __________________________________________________ _____ Now please watch for a "spicy" little thread pertaining to the Diva Challenges. Let the fun begin as we celebrate the upcoming anniversary of this inspiring challenge.

WOW!!! HOLY COW!!! I'm so honored! Thank you Tracy, and to whoever decided this - I didn't even know there was such an award here!
Well, to tell you a little about myself, I've only been scrapbooking about three years. Guess how old my first and only grandchild is? Yup - about three years old. Funny how that can sometimes propel us into the world of scrapbooking!
My first contact with scrapbooking came through a friend who is a SU Demo. She laughed when I told her (about 3 years ago) "I love just making cards and don't think I'll get into scrapbooking"! In addition to the many albums I have for my grandson, I really love the "mini albums" and have made many of those, for myself and for gifts: accordion in a tin ( figured out I've made about 30 of these as gifts), paper bag albums, scrapbooks in a box (or explosion box as some have called it) and many others.
I have a very supportive husband and two grown children -a daughter (the supplier of the subject of most of my albums) and a son, whose wife also enjoys stamping.
My style has definitely changed even in these few short years. I'd say the biggest influence on my work has been Cathy Zielske's books on Clean & Simple Scrapbooking. Her work is just amazing to me and I've read EVERY word of her journaling in addition to the text in the books. I think reading her journaling has helped me become a better journaler - with miles to go yet, of course. I read every bit of journaling in the scrapbook magazines as well. To me, the journaling is every bit as important as the photos - if not more so.
And speaking of photos, I've tried to improve my photo taking too. A book given my daughter when she was expecting helped me tremendously: How to Photograph your Baby by Nick Kelsh. He advocates three basic ideas:
1. Get Close - get even closer dont be afraid to crop off the top of the head! 2. Use natural light 3. Take LOTS of pictures (And of course, I'm not ashamed to admit that a little creative Photoshopping comes in handy too!)
I probably gave you more than you wanted to know about me. I really love it and love sharing it. Everyone at SCS has also been such a source of inspiration. I come here FIRST when I need an idea and then usually take it and tweak it. Should that be a new acronym? TITI
Now I just have to go to the scrapbook store so I can go get some chipboard and neat paper like that;) I hope I will get to upload this by the end of the weekend!
Congrats, Ann! There are some good pages in there!
I am a Cathy Zielske follower, too! I love your pages...I think this one is my favorite *I can especially appreciate it because I am a speech therapist...heehee!: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
