IFC29: 3/9/09 ~ A Touch of Spring...
As most of you know I have been having some problems posting to challenges and galleries here on SCS over the past few days. I sincerely apologize for the delay...
At this time of year, I get really bored with the drab colors of Winter and I start to get the itch to get out in my garden and fill my heart with the touches of Spring. Also at this time of year, my Irish heart starts longing for new tapestries to hang on my walls.
So my challenge to all of you is for you to create a wall hanging (LO, page or DPS) using any the spring style colors, designs and/or inspiration that you get from my favorite tapestries at the following web site: Simply Tapestries
Don't forget to upload your treasures using the keyword: IFC29
And you can view the Gallery here...
Remember to come back here and post a reply with a link to your page so that we can leave you lots of comments! I can't wait to see all of your inspirational Touches of Spring....
This is great! making new wall hangings for inspiration at this time of year, love it!

Love the layout! It looks like you did all the polkadots on the teal strip with your cuttlebug. How did you get it to cover a 12 inch piece with the dots matching up perfectly?

Here's my first try at this challenge. Mine didn't exactly turn out springy, but I'm ok with that. I was inspired by a tapestry that had strips connecting 3 squares. Very fun and unique. I tried to emulate the strips and texture of the fabric. I also combined this challenge with our Three Amigas challenge for the week. More info on my blog. So here's my attempt at the challenge:
Since I found the 8x10 prom pic and I need to "make" up to my DD, I've finished another layout for April. I initially used a white background with the pic matted on black but didn't quite like it when I got to the roses, title and journaling. Used the Rose Arabesque Tapestry for a little inspiration here but using the black background.
