IFC26: 2/9/09 This is Dedicated to the One I Love

Another challenge based on love this week. This time I want you to practice your writing skills. I know we have all done layouts about the ones we love. But, what if one day when we are gone and our loved ones are going through those scrapbooks they want to know why or just how much we loved them? It would be great if there was a layout in their book dedicated to them that included a letter from you about why you love them so; almost like a dedication page.

This week I want you to create a layout dedicated to someone you love. This layout must include a letter to that person from you about why you love them. If you need help finding the right words to sum up your feelings try using poetry or song lyrics.

I have 2 samples for you this week. One, some of you may have seen before as I used one of Sally's sketches to create it. The other is one I created a couple of years ago and never bothered to upload it until today.

so very
My Love

Now, it's your turn...:p
This challenge is meant to take a little longer than most as it should really come from the heart. I often struggle with journaling so letter writing would definitely be a challenge for me. This challenge is going to be worth 100 points.
And it will be worth 100 points until the final deadline for the contest.
Important Stuff:
This challenge cannot be combined with any other IFC contest challenges.
Please use the keywords IFC26 for all layouts submitted for this challenge.

Please come back to this thread and post a reply with a link to your layout so that we know you have completed the challenge.

You will find all layouts submitted for this challenge HERE

If you are new to the contest you can find all the details HERE.

Have a great week!

Wow Jennipher this is a tough one! I am with Tam on this I can feel them and think them but to put those feeling to paper now that will be a different story. Thanks for a great challenge. Have a good day Jenn!

Becky in NC 02-09-2009 07:27 AM

Oh my. I think rather than trying to put ALL of my love for someone into words, I will have to focus on one part at a time.

ImAYoungin' 02-09-2009 07:38 AM

How on earth am I supposed to catch up on points compared to some of the other ladies? ;) lol This will be my first time participating! yay! :)

traceyc0103 02-09-2009 08:01 AM

Oh my, I always struggle for the right words. Thanks for making us think outside the SB page and put to paper our feelings about our loved ones.

taca410 02-09-2009 08:08 AM

Great challenge Jennipher. Way to pull that journaling out of us. Sometimes words flow for me other times not so much so, we'll see. But right now their flowing so I'm off the release them:D

stamptician 02-09-2009 08:56 AM

Ladies, relax.;) I know you all can do this. I told you this is a struggle for me as well. But, I promise you there is no greater reward than seeing someone so touched by how you feel. And you don't have to get it all on one page. You'll do lots of layouts about the people you love and you can add snippets of your feelings to those.
Maybe you can write about the one thing that you feel is most important for them to know. For instance, I wanted my niece to know how much I was struggling when she came into my life and how much better she made life for me. For Mike, I wrote:
for some reason you really care about me. and on a good day I believe that I might become all that you see in me. And it's because of that and a million other reasons that I love you.
Don't overthink it. Just be yourself. ;)

hcarnes 02-09-2009 09:05 AM

Wow. My Je T'aime page did this. I'll see if I can drag some more journaling out of me before the week is over! :) Great challenge - I don't do this nearly enough.

We can be newbies together! This is my frist challenge as well. I have zero points as well lol

At first it seemed a little stange to write a letter to one person, but with the intention of many reading it, but then I remembered something, and I'd like to share the story with you all.

Both of my father's parents are gone. A couple of years ago my dad was going through all of my grandfather's slides to figure out what to keep and what to trash. He was amazed at how many photos my grandfather took of my grandmother over the years. It was only then that my dad realized that his father really loved his mother. He never knew.

So the fact that we care enough to take the photos and put them in a book at all shows how much we care, but putting what's in our heart on paper is even better. Thanks for reminding us Jennipher.

I love this. Yesterday I spent some time playing outside watching my children catch bubbles. As I was blowing bubbles I was watching them laugh and thinking how very lucky I am to be home with them every day. I snapped some photos of them, this will be a great opportunity to let them know how much our time together means to me.

What I like most about this is that you chose to cherish a simple everday moment. The kind that is fleeting and gone before we know it. Thanks for playing along. 100 points;)
