Wisconsin Stampers are very fortunate to have alot of events through out the year. In an effort to help the ladies organizing these events I decided to start this thread. Two events have fallen on the same date this year, despite measures taken to prevent this from happening. We can't do much about it now, but it is a good learning experience. Please feel free to add events to this thread. I will do my best to keep the calendar up to date based on those posts and any PMs, e-mails or request that I receive. Thanks.
Happy Stamping!!!

Hey...great to see this thread for those of us who live near to WI and travel there often from the UP of Michigan! It would really help me out if you could put in the city names for each event. That may help me be able to attend! Also, if it is near a larger city but hosted in a smaller one, could you put the name of the larger and often more recognizable name (for me!) of the larger city on there too?? Not like asking for alot, huh??? So often I see some thread about [U]after[U] things have happened and I really would have liked to have gone!
We do have one stamping event in the UP held the first weekend of August in Baraga, MI which is west of Marquette about 60 miles. A wonderful event, small but creative!
I was going to ask if it would be a good idea to list stuff in near by states or if that would get confusing. There are always things going on at the Paper Stash in Mc Henry, IL ~so I was thinking of putting those on here too. They have the BEST Michaels there, IT"S HUGE!
The Friendship Swap is up for a vote ~ so long as nobody minds I will change the date to April 24, 2010. Then those of us that want to attend A Year of Cards and The Friendship Swap can. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it to ~ or in this case TWICE ~
For those of you down south I added The Paper Stash, their web link is at the bottom of the calendar. There are several sections; Crops, Registration, Blog and more. You can join them on facebook too, just look for the Paper Stash.
What a wonderful thread. Now I need to get the dates on my calendar.
Mel...Sayner has an event called the Sayner Spring Stampede. They always have a huge rummage sale of stamps and papercrafting items and a stamping event in conjunction. It's held the first Saturday of May, so for 2010, it will be May 1st.
Again, thanks for getting all the WI events in one location.
Hey Ladies got an e-mail that the APPLETON Scrapbook & Stamping Memories just made their sale even bigger! Everything in the store is: 20% off ~ 50% off many & 70% off Select items.
They have lost their lease and everything must go. Gift cards will still be honored at the Madison and Janesville locations once the one in Appleton closes or you can use it now for the sales in APPLETON. ~ This is really sad too ~ they have an incredible paper selection!!! I won't be able to make this sale but thought the rest of you would like to know about it.
I just emailed them to ask when their last day would be. I got a quick reply from Scott and he said they are not sure they are closing as they are looking for a new location. For now, the sale will run at this location until the end of February.

This is the link for the show in Madison--but it is the 2009 link. Chris, the organizer will update soon, but here is part of an email I got from her tonight:
YES. The show is definitely going to happen again in 2010! It is our 10th year! It will be the weekend before Thanksgiving again as always. November 20 & 21, 2010.
Hi, I have been thinking of having a shoebox swap in June in Jackson. we have a new community center here, and I thought we could be the first group to stamp there.
I'm going to try to post a link to my thread. don't know it I'm doing it right as I am challenged that way:rolleyes:
Thank you to everyone for keeping us posted on sales, events and all the other stamping fun to be had in Wisconsin. Year of cards in April is now full, the new date for the Friendship Shoebox Swap has been posted with openings still available. Mad-City Madness should be coming up soon. If anyone has heard from Tracy please let her know about this new thread so we can get her Swap posted too.
Hi Mel--can you please post these dates and the link on the second thread?
Thanks, Barb

Still no word on Mad-City Madness just that Tracey is looking at April or May.

This is a shoebox swap for the Madison Area. I have attended twice an am waiting to hear about this year, but I am also REALLY looking forward to my (and my sister's) event in Jackson in June! The more stampin possibilities the better as far as I am concerned!
Hi Everyone,
There is another used stamp sale just like the one at Lucky Dogz in Neenah, but his one is in Greenbay. It's May 8th and I'll post more once I have all the info.

Good Morning and Happy Easter Wisconsin LadiesI thought I would post something about CHACraft and Hobby Associationshow in Chicago in July. Some of you might be interested in going and I know some of us have talked about it and are starting to make plans.
Firsthere is the site with information http://www.craftandhobby.org/
The "trade show" is Tues-Thurs, July 27-29--that is dealer/company access only, public can't get in. The public "show" which is what we would want is basically a super huge scrapbooking/stamping/crafting expo is Friday/Saturday, July 30/31. I have heard the cost is about $20 for both days. They also have offered classes in the past, but no specific deals are on the website yet.
I would love to get together with other SCS at CHA if others are going downsupper one night, morning meet up, beverages on night, etc.
I am planning to make a mini-vacation out of it, staying three nights. I am heading down Thursday morning with Laura Jean, a SCS from Madison. We plan to stop at Ikea and Woodfield Mall. The hotel we are at, Aloft--is at pretty good price--$99 for Thursday and then $49 for Friday. It is then $99 again on Saturday. The hotel is connected or right by the convention center, so we can park at the hotel and then walk. No parking fees--I know there are some cheaper hotels in the area, but I am not sure what parking costs at the CC.
Here is a link to the special for the hotel-one night regular (TH), next night 50% off-$49-- http://www.starwoodpromos.com/aloftbettertomorrows/
This is the best if anyone is coming in on Thursday for two nights. They also have a AAA rate of $79.20 if anyone has that card and that would apply to all days. What I did was make a reservation for two nights with the special and a second reservation with the AAA rate. Looks like a great hotel--very, very modern!
So, anyone else planning to go? I know that Laura Jean went to CHA in Anaheim in January and said it was great. I have not attended, but am so looking forward to it. I would like to check out some of the classes when that schedule is set.
Please post if you are planning to go and what days you are going to be there. We can then try to set up a time and place to meet for a "Curd" get-together!
Have a wonderful Easter and if you are on break this week--ENJOY!
Hello everyone!
I finallly found the date for the June Stamping Expo here in Wausau for those of you interested.
It is JUNE 26th! - they changed the weekend this year.
This year it is going to be held at Cedar Creek Center right off the highway instead of Greenheck.
I was told by the shop owner its a better location and better setup for the show.
I will post again when tickets go on sale if anyone would them. Also the first couple hundred sold gets a nice goodie bag so i always buy my ticket right away and also its cheaper than a the door.
There is a HUGE used stamp garage sale in Madison at the Scrapbook Super Store this weekend. Just go down Odana road past the West side Jo Anns and the super store is located in the square(on the left). I think it is the next left after Joanns. Their will be a line of ladies waiting for the doors to open. It is a good idea to go with friends and have an idea of what each person in your group is hoping to find. This takes shopping to the Pro-Sport level.
If an item has it's price highlighted in yellow then that item will not be half price on Monday. The prices are so good on most of the stuff we would just go early the first day and be spent by the time we got home. They don't have enough little baskets for the first group of shopper when they open the doors so you may want to take your own BIG one. Forget about even attempting to get a cart in that room, it's full of great deals and stampers, with very little room for much else. Have fun! I may see you there.

Well, it's an "all things" rummage sale, not just a used stamp sale, although they do always seem to have a TON of stamps. If the weather's nice, much of the merchandise will be outside.
subbing-
I live in central wi and am interested in knowing all things which are going on in our state. Thanks for taking the time for adding things to this list, it's a great idea.
did anyone make it to the garage sale at Scrapbook superstore in madison? I dropped my items off Friday, but did not plan to shop over the weekend. Hoping I sell lots!
