Thank you South Cali stampers
Hey ladies,
Is there anyone from way south CA? I'm in the San Diego area (East Cty). Anyone willing to get together and have some FUN!?!?
Let me know, I'd love to put something together. If you in the LA area, we can try to meet half way and make a larger event.
PM me or reply to this thread if your interested.
Looking forward to meeting you all,
Lisa

I'm in if DH is around to watch the kiddos or if I can find a sitter, I'm in Clairemont, so just a few mins from, downtown San Diego.
I need to get out & stamp, scrap, whatever
Hope to hear from you...

Hey Heidi,
I'm in La Mesa, I'm glad your here I almost thought I was the only San Diegan!
Maybe you should subscribe to this thread that way you can keep up with what's going on.
Depending on the amount of replies maybe we can do something early December, a little holiday gathering! It may be to soon to do mid Nov and Thanksgiving pretty much rules out the end of the month.
Talk to you soon.
Lisa

Yeah! A shoebox swap would be really fun!! Let me know if we get something together! I can get us a place too. We may have to charge a fee per person to pay for use of the room (It's big!) but it won't be too much depending on how many people sign up. It is in north inland county just off the 15 (in Sabre Springs.) Or does anyone else have a place in mind already??

Count me in! I would love to meet everyone. I'm also in Sabre Springs, not too far away from Tina. My schedule is very busy until after the holidays though so if we waited until January it would be better for me. I have checked into the Hamburger Factory in Poway as they have a big room in the back, and all they would require is for us to eat lunch there, although I would need to double check that with the manager. They have yummy hamburgers too!

WOW!
Hey ladies,
I guess I forgot to subscribe to this thread, alot has gone on since I last checked in. I have no problem traveling a little to get there but depending on the amount of people we get together, I'd like to try to keep the costs down. I'd liek us all to have fun and participate.
Let's see is everyone (so far) OK waiting until Jan or do we want to get together in Dec?
Let me know and we'll set a date and start looking into places, hamburgers, YUMMO! I don't eat them often but when I do, I want them to be worth it, LOL!
Talk to you ladies soon,
Lisa

I am in OC but willing to travel. between thanksgiving/xmas or post-new years, are good for me. judging from the other responses, sounds like it's shaping up for jan.
I don't think a restaurant will be too happy with our using their back room for the amount of time a showbox swap would take. I'm not familiar with the place so maybe I'm wrong.

1 day or overnight???
Hi ladies,
How does Jan 21st sound? I was thinking do we want to do an overnight thing or just a 1 day event? If we do overnight maybe we can get adjoining rooms and set up card tables?
If we decide 1 day does Sat the 21st sound good?
I also figure that we'll get the furthest person from SD and find a place in the middle, sound fair?
Looking forward to it.
Who is doing the VSN??? Let's blow them out of the water.

January 21st is iffy for me - BUT I may be able to move a couple things around. I absolutely want to meet everyone and glean (sp?) some stamping skills from the SoCal Gals!
From previous posts, I am pretty sure I am not the furthest away - in fact I may be the middle I'll keep an eye on this thread to see when a final date is determined and a location.

I think one all-day event is probably better than an overnighter. if we start early then we can play longer. this, coming from a night owl. believe me, I am no morning person but some things are worth getting up early for!

A day thing would work best for me also as the dh may have something out of town going on and finding someone to watch the kids overnight is a challenge. Jan 21st looks good for me too. Let me know if you need help finding a place. I love having soemthing in January to look forward too after the holidays are over!

This is my first post to this thread, but I would love to join. January 21st works for me... I live in Pasadena... close to LA. I'll mark this thread and keep checking back for a location.
Would we be doing scrapbooking or card making? A shoebox swap was thrown out there... is that a possibility?
I'm excited to meet more people who are as crazy about stamping as I am!

answering a few questions
First I'm soo happy that you are all so excited! We are going to have a blast!
I believe we will be doing a shoebox swap. Can someone please explain to me exactly how those work, I've never done one but it sounds fun.
If you have a suggestion for the days activities, please let us know.
I don't need an official RSVP at this point, I'm just going to do a general search of locations and go by the people who have responded plus a few.
I would also suggest that everyone subscribe to this thread if you haven't already...that way you won't a thing.
I hope that answers some questions...feel free to ask any more or even give suggestions.
Lisa

Hi! This is my first time posting but your gathering sounds like a GREAT IDEA! I live near Mission Viejo - pretty much central to everything you've all mentioned! Now I need to figure out how to keep in contact with this forum/thread/sub-forum (whatever, I still haven't figured out the lingo!) Count me in!

Huntington Beach??
Hi ladies,
I've been checking things out in Huntington beach. What do you all think?
The furthest person is in Ventura...Huntington Beach is about 1hr 45 mins from both Ventura and SD?
Let me know if that works for you all and I'm going to start calling for locations, we can always go a little inland if it works better.
This is my first event so I'll take any and ALL advice or help!
Lisa
Can't wait to meet all of you!

Lisa,
You had asked for numbers and I forgot to send them to you....I think there will be me and maybe 3 others from Simi Valley. I'm, too am so excited about this get together.
Since I haven't been there in eons....if there is an Elks, Moose or something like that, maybe they would be willing to donate the hall space provided we open it up to the members. Just a thought.
Are we doing a shoebox? Need to know that as soon as possible along with the rules you are going to use. You are 'da bomb' for doing this!! Thanx!
