#29 Stephanie
Challenge 1 Done (Late!)
Colors for shoebox swap: Unknown
Stamp set: Not a clue yet

So.....I haven't had a chance to login to SCS in a couple days and look what I missed - But I am going to play along anyway

I am Stephanie - aka CaliGal - I am a wife of 20 yrs (in June) to Dametrius - Mother to 4, DJ-18, Damen-16, Kiyah-7 and Kileigh-5... I am officially the Change Control Coordinator for Verizon Wireless full time - part time job on the 91 fwy commuting to Irvine from Menifee - I am involved in Menifee Pop Warner Football & Cheer year round, Menifee National Jr Basketball 6 months out of the year - also volunteer at church in the Nursery (gotta get my "baby fix" each week) - other than all that, I find a few minutes here and there for stamping.

Now I am off to officially comment too

See you gals very soon!!!!

Default Bonus ?

Bonus:

For the past 3 years, I've been a SAHG (stay-at-home-Grammy), and lovin' it! I've been married to my quick-witted DH for 32 years. While I no longer have little guys here every day, I make sure that I see or have them here very often. (If not, I shrivel into a grump.) Also, I'm a former 1st grade & Kgn. teacher. The children always laughed out loud whenever I drew anything on the whiteboards to illustrate a concept. (Yes ... that bad at art.) So, I had no choice but to laugh along with them. I love rubber stamping, and owe it to being introduced to Stampin' Up! by my daughter, Jessica Witty. I truly enjoy moderating here at SCS. It's a sweet way of paying back for the priceless inspiration found here. I owe many of my dearest friendships to having found Splitcoast Stampers in 2004. Beaches, floral bouquets, unstructured or structured floral gardens, the freshness of Spring, and zoos are also among my favs.

SCSM4 Challenge #2

(if you did not complete Challenge #1,
you can still play Challenge #2! Please JOIN IN!)

***Make all of your samples for your shoebox project. You need a minimum of 2 samples (one to stay with the box and one for the display board/table) or 5 of the samples if you plan to RAK one to me, Emily and Joy (see the OP about that). Your sample #2 will be donated to either Ronald McDonald House in O.C. or to one of the troops programs. As you are making your samples, keep a list of every supply you used (cs, stamps, embellishments, tools.etc) so it will be easier for you to put your shoebox together later. Please be certain that your shoebox project is something that can be completed by the average stamper in 10 minutes. Is CASEing ok? Sort of. You may CASE something from the SCS gallery IF 1. you give proper credit with your project to the original creator, and 2. you DO NOT CASE anyone who will be attending SCSM4! If you do choose to CASE it is best if you change at least 1 or elements of the project.

***Leave 15 comments in the gallery in Today's Additions

When you are finished please post your *check in* post in purple using your # from the registration list Joy has posted and your first name (NOT your screen name). So for example:

#2 Jami
ALL Samples made
List made
Comments done

You may also include a thumbnail photo of your project with your check-in post (IF you want to). This is NOT required! We do ask that you do not upload your sample to the gallery until after SCSM4. If it is something already in your gallery, that is FINE!

You have until Saturday March 24th at midnight to complete this challenge and be entered into a special prize drawing. You must complete all 3 of the challenge requirements as listed above to qualify!!!

Bonus Chat Question #2
What city do you live in? How far will you be driving to get here? What is your favorite SoCal attraction or area to go to on a weekend when you have some free time?

Please post your answers to the chat question in black and you may answer any time this week - with or separate from your challenge check-in!

Bonus Question for Challenge #2

What city do you live in? I live in Maryland Heights, Missouri, which is in St. Louis County
How far will you be driving to get here? Well, I'm flying, but according to Mapquest, it's 1840.79 miles, and then there is driving from LAX to Long Beach which is another 30-40 minutes, or so I'm told.
What is your favorite SoCal attraction or area to go to on a weekend when you have some free time? Anytime I'm in California...whether southern or northern, I always have to take some time and enjoy the beach. Just to watch the waves for a while, smell the salt air, and hear the seagulls flying overhead really brings me home. (I grew up in Northern California-SF Bay Area)

I guess it pays to miss a day of work, I actually got the samples done early

I live in Huntington Beach. I believe it is around 10-15 miles to the Long Beach church but I am not sure. My favorite California attraction is the beach, even though I don't get there enough. Although I am a big Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm fan too!!!!!

I just placed my order this morning for the designer paper I am using. Hopefully it'll be here by Saturday! So in the meantime...

Bonus Chat Question #2
What city do you live in? Lake Forest, CA
How far will you be driving to get here? According to Google Maps 36 miles.
What is your favorite SoCal attraction or area to go to on a weekend when you have some free time? It's not really an attraction. I go to TARGET during my free time. lol If it is free time with DH, we usually just go to dinner and coffee. Free time is limited with four kids. lol

I, too, am waiting on an order for some paper, so probably won't get the samples done in time. Oh well..., didn't complete Challenge 1 in time, I was being too honest and realized I will probably change my mind a few times.

Bonus Chat Question #2

What city do you live in? Livermore (just north of Kidneyless, hahahaha) on the eastern outskirts of the SF Bay Area, home to many vineyards and wineries, a nuclear research facility, and "the World's Fastest Rodeo".
How far will you be driving to get here? According to Mapquest, about 365 miles and it said 5 hours 30 minutes! Huh? That equates to about 66 mph, with NO potty breaks.... I don't think so (I'm not doin' the Depends trick). Seven hours is a more reasonable time.
What is your favorite SoCal attraction or area to go to on a weekend when you have some free time? Disneyland

Hi Lynn in St Louis - where did you live in Bay Area? I've lived in a number of cities. Yes, I can imagine living in the center of a continent, the ocean is a wonderful attraction. Luckily, I've lived west coast and east coast and always within an hour or two drive of the ocean. Once lived just a mile from the ocean.

Bonus Chat Question #2
I live in San Diego, just outside of Poway. We're in the small community of Sabre Swings, oops, um, Sabre Springs. Not sure how far it is in miles, but it took me 2 hours to get to Long Beach last year, and an hour and a half to get home. Much less traffic at night! I just like hanging with the family in my spare time. My ds prefers Legoland, dd likes Disney, dh likes either haning at home or going camping, and the dog loves the beach! I'm content doing just about anything!

I grew up in Vallejo, and am very familiar with Livermore! I've been in the midwest for 24 years now, but California will always be home to me. I miss the mountains, the ocean and the WEATHER!

I live in West Hills about an hour from Long Beach. One of my favorite things is the Santa Barbara Zoo, I think we have been at least 2 dozen times over the last 3 years. It's a great little zoo and the kids love it plus it's in Santa Barbara, who doesn't love that place?

I'm sorry if I'm asking a repetitive question, but I haven't read the last 5 or so pages. What if I would like to do a shoebox swap that involved a heat gun? Is that even possible?

I love this challenge. I just sat on Sunday and cut all my cardstock pieces that I need. I am picking up a cuttlebug embossing folder from a friend tonight that I need for my project. I should be able to get the embossing done and put together my 5 samples by Saturday so I can get in on this challenge. I already did the 15 posts last night. Can't wait to finish those samples and then I have to start thinking about my name tag.

First, apologies to Mama Kim and all--I can't find a picture of me (that I'm willing to post on the internet). I'm always the one taking the pictures. I'll keep looking.

and it must include Chocolate.

Bonus #1

I'm a SAHM. DH is retired and is home practically always and one DD who just turned 6. I'm room mom for DD's class. I just signed up to be a Demo during SAB- wanted that free set. I haven't decided yet if I want to do a big business, or just supply my addiction at a discount.

I'm totally looking forward to meeting everyone (but just a tad nervous).
