Spring PA SHOEBOX SWAP

Location: Fancy That Scrapbook Store
139 S Hanover Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036 http://www.fancythatscrapbook.com
Cost: $25.00 (This will cover lunch, beverages, and up to $15 in give a ways per person)
Deadline: Your spot is not confirmed until payment is received.
Please send your payment made out to:
Melanie Newby, 6936 Spring Road, Shermansdale, PA 17090
Capacity: We only have room for 12 swappers so once we are full we will start a wait list.
What we will be doing!!
1. We will be making 1 card of your choice.
2. You will put together card kits for each person in attendance. You need to include all the needed supplies to make your card. You also need to make a sample of your card along with written instructions for everyone to use as a guide. Place your kits in a "shoebox" or another container to keep your items together.
3. In turn you will get to take home as many cards as people that attend.
4. Our Challenge: Create an altered item. This can be anything of your choice. SCS gallery has some really neat, creative ideas. Bring it along with you to the shoebox swap where we will vote on our favorite altered item. If you win, you'll take home everyone's creations.
Please make sure you continue to check the thread for updates. Two weeks before the event we'll close sign ups so you know how many kits to prepare. If we have a low attendance we will consider creating two kits per person. If you have ANY questions please feel free to PM me or call me at 717-773-1607 As always, if you have a friend or family member that would enjoy spending the day making cards with us, feel free to invite them.
Thanks so much!!

I should have came....we were supost to go away because our anniversary was the 14th and my birthday was the 19th...but you know...it rained!!! So we didn't do anything after all!!!
Hi everyone! I found your new swap, but I can't make this one. Jan 30th is my baby's first birthday. I'll be watching though just in case the date changes. (I know sometimes in shoebox swaps the date might change). I sorry that I can't make this one, but I really don't want to miss the baby's first birthday.
Hello everyone, I hope your enjoying this awesome weather we are having. Not sure how long it's going to stick around but I hope this does not mean its the calm before the storm. ;)
Ok so I need to chat with ya'all. I'm having some major schedule conflicts. I don't see any way that I can pull off this swap in January. In February I have a big 2 day crop so I hate to squeeze anything into that month either. So the earliest I'm seeing is mid to late March.
So with that being said, would someone else like to take over hosting the January swap or would you like to postpone it to March? I'm SERIOUSLY ok either way. If someone else wants to host let me know and I'll pass the reins to you for January.
Rescheduling would be fine with me if I can make it. January is always a super busy month work wise with me so I would definitely be feeling stressed to get other things done then...
Everyone must be getting real busy. Next Saturday I am actually being a host on the mini VSBN we are having in the afternoon. For some of you that scrapbook, maybe we can "see" you then? I have my scrapbook page ready to go and now I need to get ready for Christmas!
I've also been volunteered to design and prepare card kits for the church I attend for their January AND February meetings. I'm thinking at least 100 kits since I won't know how many are going to be attending until a day or so before the meeting! I volunteered to do this in November and between 5 of us, we made 85 cards in a little under 2 hours for their ministry. This church uses over 1000 cards a year so I can't imagine how many they actually purchase since this group only makes about 500-600 cards per year. I had originally thought I needed to make a whole bunch of different designs but they go for volume...not variety so that's OK with me! For every design I think of, I have to get approval first so I need to come up with something soon since it will take me a while to prepare that many card kits and the next meeting is Jan. 9.
Terry you'll have to let me know when there is another VSBN. I had a lot going on yesterday and had a VSD today with some blog sister here on SCS today.
The mini VSBN isn't until this Saturday, the 19th. Here is the thread. Forums at Splitcoaststampers I think the actual VSBN is in January. Here is the thread for that one...I'm not hosting for that one. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Oh my gosh Terry your so awesome. This is beautiful!!! Would you mind doing me a HUGE favor and emailing me the picture of our group? I would love to have it to scrap.
So is everyone loving our snow??? I completed a full border swap today which was a huge success for me. It usually takes me 2-3 days to complete a swap that detailed. So far we have gotten 12 inches and are supposed to get another 2-3 inches over night.

DGS was out for quite a while today. It's the first snow he's been able to really enjoy...took me at least 15 minutes to get him dressed for it. He kept saying...but I've already got a shirt on (x 4)! But he stayed warm except for his fingers since he kept taking the mitten portion of his gloves off!
