Gayla, glad to hear you are finally on the up-side of whatever you and Alan had. I think I remember that you both had some sort of reaction to the shingles (or may it was the pneumonia?) shot. Feel better.

Kari, yay! I'm so looking forward to seeing you after such a long "break".

I spent tonight organizing my current stamps and dies. My mojo wasn't coming as this task was on my mind. I'm in pretty good shape. Just need to finish my masculine cards and organize my shoebox. Skipping gift swap again... I think. I have an idea .. but might run out of time.
Good news is we are just waiting for a closing date for my DD to move into her first home! Lots of organizing to do when she moves out. We have 4 baseball players staying with us this summer!!

I'll be putting in a few notes as I think of them.

Bring your own "essentials" kit [scissors, adhesives (tape runner, liquid glue, dimensional, sticky dots), bone folder, pokey tool, straight edge, baby wipes, stamp cleaner] -- the items you are likely to use while stamping.
Be sure you label anything you don’t want to lose. We have had scissors, bone folders, adhesives, markers, etc., left behind at past events. Remember you’ll be making 18 cards, so bring PLENTY of adhesive. It tends to be one thing that runs out.

Hi Everyone!

Unfortunately circumstances have popped up that are preventing me from coming to the get together tomorrow. We are down a manager (She moved to the west coast) and yesterday I ended up working a 14 hour day (up at 3:30am to be to work by 5am then drove 45 minutes home for a few hours before going back and working until 9:30pm) after my boss ended up in the Emergency Room. She is still waiting for test results & to see a specialist, but I have to help cover her shift at work until she can come back.

I will miss seeing everyone and working on the shoeboxes!!!

Heather

Please do a last minute check on your swaps for final counts so you don't come with too few.

Shoebox projects/tables -- you'll be stamping at 2 tables of 9 so you'll need 18 kits (plus oops) and 4 completed copies of your shoebox.

Food -- if you don't remember what you signed up to bring, please check with me. It's important to at least stay in the same "category".

Please plan to arrive close to 10 a.m. You know I'm never ready for you much before that. You'll draw a color to pick your table.

Here's the easiest way to check in:
  • Find your nametag (address labels, which are alpha by first name).
  • Draw a punch and find the table with the same color.
  • Find a spot at your table.
  • Check in with Jean in the kitchen for food drop off.
  • The front tables will hold one of each of your swaps. Please check or cross off your name when you do this.
  • You'll pin up your shoebox project on the color matched board outside the kitchen AND drop off one of your completed cards in each of the two containers provided.
  • The last completed card stays with your table as a sample.
  • If you're participating in the optional gift swap, someone will have a deck of cards. You'll need one of those for later.
  • Now is the time to check in with me. You can drop off your door prize if you have one and also confirm the items you've brought.

Don't forget to bring plenty of adhesive. All types are recommended including a tape runner, liquid glue and dimensionals.

The church, our host, is collecting non-perishable food items for donations to those less fortunate than us. Items like laundry detergent and toilet paper are also welcome, but personal care items should be donated elsewhere.

Thanks everyone for coming, especially your generosity with your table projects, swaps, delicious foods, and additions to the church's food baskets.

Most of all, thank you for your friendship! I hope you all enjoyed the day but LMK what might've been better.

November 2 is our fall date and I hope you will all be back.

Thanks Linda for everything you do to give us this opportunity to have a great time with good friends. Would have said that last night, but I crashed in my chair while DH watched TV. I admire Kari for driving so far!!

What a wonderful day! Amazing projects, swaps and make and takes, super delicious food and plenty of it, great company and fun as well as a generous goody bag and wonderfully diverse door prizes. Smaller than usual gift swap but my opinion is everyone outdid themselves. Thanks as always to Linda and her kitchen ninja, Jean.
November is on my calendar! Oh....and I was home by 6:30 and I even got gas and went through the car wash.
(For anyone interested in heading a couple hours west in October, Stamp-a-Palooza is set for October 19, 2019 and if you plan further, March 21, 2020 follows that)

We lost power last night so I fell asleep when it was too dark to read or I, too, would've stopped by yesterday.

I'm glad the drives home for you longer-distance friends were accomplished. At least Kari had an overnight before attempting her long drive.
