Lisa and I were recently down Ocean City scrapbooking/card making for the weekend. I have to say we had a blast. We thought, wouldn�t it be great if we could give our friends from our shoeboxes and friends on splitcoast the same opportunity to enjoy the ocean atmosphere, great food, learn new techniques, enjoy a shoebox swap and have fun with friends�.. We also realize that some people do not want to just stamp, that is fine....bring your scrapbooking items or what ever you want to work on....
We will showing some great techniques.... how to make paper bows out of that leftover paper..... jacobs coat technique (great for fall) .... many more
So we booked a weekend at Ocean City:

Glad that you can join us... we always have a blast at the Bel Air Shoebox.... just think an entire weekend..... too much to handle. I am really looking forward to the November weekend. I know it is early to think about it but as least we have time to get the money together before the holidays......

The shoebox concept:
The gathering of several people to make cards from the contents of "shoeboxes" if you look at one of our posts, we (Lisa and I) are putting on a shoebox swap in Belair, MD. Here is the link:
April 16 �Shoebox Swap in Bel Air, MD (Harford County) by abendis at Splitcoaststampers
Basically, you gather the contents to make a card (card stock, accessories, ink, stamps). Our shoebox has 31 people attending. So you need the all the contents to make a card but times it by 30. Put the contents in a box, plastic container and so one. My first shoebox was just that, I put the contents to make the cards in a shoebox. You will walk away with 30 different cards because you do not count yourself.
What I like about shoeboxes is.... you meet new people, see new ideas and techniques and is very relaxing......

I live on the Eastern Shore and would love to join you; however, I wouldn't want to participate in the room portion (as I could drive there) or the food portion (I have special eating needs). Would I still be able to pay some sort of fee and participate? I would be so excited to meet some other stampers/scrappers!

Thanks for the info Andrea! I need to get the details to my stamping pal. I see that a 4:00 start time is listed. Is that just check-in or will stamping begin at that time. My friend and I are trying to plan whether or not we need to take off time from work on that Friday.
We've never done a shoebox event before but are looking forward to it!

With no limitations with time, I thought we might have two shoebox swaps going on.....

You don't have to feel pressured about doing both, or one..... you can just come to this event and stamp or scrapbook.... remember this is your weekend to have fun.

Here is another thought about this great OC weekend.... Friday, November 11 is Veteran's Day, not only do we think about and thank all the Veteran's for keeping our country safe... it is a holiday... so many of you may be off...... another plus.....

Here is the thing about a "weekend" shoebox swap..... you have all day and night to finish the cards. Normally there is a time limit to making the cards when there is just a day swap. If you have issues making the cards you are working on just ask for help. There is enough people that are seasoned stampers that will have no problem helping you and Lisa and I will be walking around to help with any issues. Lisa and I will be having some technique classes during the day Saturday and evenings Friday and Saturday. We are hoping for good weather so that there is a chance people could go visit the boardwalk..... but the weekend will be devoted to stamping, learning new things and getting your christmas/holiday cards done.....
