I am new to Splitcoast and would like to meet area Splitcoast members on-line. Perhaps you could give me a point or two of advice (what's your favorite part of the website, for example). I am also very interested in doing card swaps. I have posted nearly 30 sample cards to illustrate the quality of my projects. Hope to connect with you soon.
Hello from southern Wisconsin! There are quite a few of us on Splitcoast that get together all over the state even though we ride in central & southern WI. 15 of us were together for a Shoebox yesterday in Jefferson. The next one that we have organized will be in Hartford on August 17th. If you watch the forums under Get It Together and watch for WI, you'll find the Wisconsin ones. 2 of us are traveling to Iowa March 8-10 for a retreat that we found on Splitcoast, too. Have you done Shoebox Swaps, either organized them or attended them?
Thanks for the info. My cousin lives in Hartford, so I do know where that is!! I will keep August 17th in mind. I have participated in my first card swap (someone else was the hostess). I have not been involved in a shoebox swap as I am just getting my feet wet with Splitcoast. I will research showbox swaps as I am not sure what they entail. I appreciate the pointers!
Greetings from the Milwaukee area! I am loving all the great gallery posts and find there are many talented members amoung us.
I would be up for a card swap from Wisconsin members!!! In fact, I would be willing to host one! PM me if you're interested!
I would love to do a card swap. I usually do shoeboxes a few times a year. I do card swaps with my Stampin up sisters. I also have done some private card swaps as well. Send me the details on what you decide. Thanks Sheri Lehman/TLQ

I love the tutorials on here. There are so many good ideas. I also do shoeboxes with Diane that responded to you earlier. Shoeboxes are fun and you get to meet so many nice ladies and get different card ideas and other ideas as well.
Awesome Sheri! Let me think and put something together. I will post on a new thread.
I am a new/old SU demo and would have loved to have gone to Lyssa's All Dressed Up gathering. I don't have that, but am being swayed to it with all the cute cards posted.
Yes, I would love to do a Wisconsin Women Card Swap! I am also interested in the shoebox events; sounds like a lot of fun. I do live quite a ways away from Jefferson and Hartford, but with planning can make a road trip! I would also be happy to host something (either by mail or in person) once I get my feet wet with Splitcoast and understand how everything works.
Welcome to SCS. I try to attend the shoebox swaps that are held in Wisconsin when I can. I just noticed one posted that will be held in May in Walworth County. I do host swaps--you can check them out in my siggy.
If you also like Gina K's stamps and check one of the threads on Stamp TV--Gina asked in the Wisconsin if we wanted to attend an event if she hosted one? Heck Yes! So--you might want to check that out too.
Hi, Jen! It is nice to meet you. I was just in Marshfield yesterday at the clinic! Does anyone in central Wisconsin ever get together for a shoebox swap, or other stamping activity? I would be very interested! I joined Barb's mail swap (posted above your note). Sue

It would be fun to get together! We just need someone to organize it. Lol
There aren't any Shoeboxes in June nor July as far as I know - Wausau girls, that sounds like a great time for you to do one, I know several of us that would be very likely to sign up and come!
We're also happy to share registration forms in WORD that you can adapt to meet your needs!
Is anyone else interested in doing a Wausau WI shoebox swap in June? I am a SCS "newbie" and have never been to a Shoebox swap (but would love to participate in one/host one). I am very well organized and with a little help regarding expectations and "protocol" would be happy to put one together if there is enough interest. Post on this thread or send me a PM.
Hi I would be interested in coming depending on the week end as my daughter graduates on the 8th and her party is the 22nd. I am part of the Jefferson shoebox and like Diane enjoy traveling for shoeboxes.

Sue, I'd be happy to help you plan and organize one. You can message me if you like!

I was originally thinking of a June 22 Wausau shoebox, but note that one of the women who is interested has a conflict. How does June 15th work for everyone if I can pull it together?

Per my PM I would love some help! Let's stay in touch; hopefully we can nail down a date that works for everyone who is interested in coming to beautiful central Wisconsin!
I am working with "JenWI409" who I met through this thread. Jen is checking on facilities, hoping we can find one to use on JUNE 15 for a central Wisconsin shoebox swap. Stay tuned for more details as they unfold.
We have a confirmed date for a shoebox swap in Wausau WI (actually Weston WI); it is SATURDAY, JUNE 15. Very easy on/off the highway from all directions. I am co-chairing with JenWI409 and she will be taking the reservations. Details (including hotel info) and the registration form will be posted shortly by Jen. Looking forward to meeting everyone as I am a Splitcoast newbie!
June is a bad month for me. HS graduation and then a trip to Mexico!
Can someone explain what a shoebox swap is?
A Shoebox is an event whereby each person designs a card and makes a sample of it then cuts the cardstock, brings the embellishments and supplies for the number of people attending to sit down at a spot at the table where that particular card and "kits" are. Participants go around to each spot and make the cards. The word "Shoebox" is because everything that you bring for your card usually fits into a shoebox. If the number of participants is over 20, then usually the hostess will have participants MAKE 1/2 of the cards and bring the other 1/2 as kits. Then you MAKE half and TAKE half already done ones. At the end of the day, if there were 20 participants in the event, you would have brought a sample plus 20 kits of the same card but will go home with your card and 19 different ones.
There are usually optional swaps, too. Some have been things like Anything But a Card, Christmas Card Swap, Any Occassion Card Swap, Decorated Gift Bag, Altered Notebook. In the case of the optional swaps, you would make enough "copies" of the same item for as many people as partipcate in that swap and they're swapped so that again you go home with as many as you brought but each one being different.
THEN there's usually a Secret Sister swap. This is usually one item and a larger one, hostesses make their own rules for it. This is optional, too. It's exactly that - swap one for one.
These Shoebox events are tons of fun and the groups here on SCS are very polite and accepting people. Newbies and experienced stampers/scrappers are always welcome. It's a great way to meet other people as well as get samples of so many different ideas on how to do things.
Hope this helps and hope to see you at an upcoming Shoebox! I help with the one in Hartford, WI in August!
Hi - I actually live in Southern Cal now, but I grew up in Marshfield, and attended tech school and lived in Wausau/Weston after I got married. Am a Wisconsin girl at heart. I mainly just love the gallery - as a SU demo I use it all the time for inspiration. Good to meet you.
