GA* Atlanta GA Get Together May 5th *shoebox swap*
Hello GA Stampers!!! It has been over a year since we have had a shoebox swap. I think it is about time that we all reunite again. My friend Deb and I have had successful swaps for the past 5 years and we are doing it again in May. We have booked our venue for May 5th from 10am-3pm. We are having it at my parent's Subway on the corner of Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and 285. It has 2 separate dining areas and the largest one is reserved for us that day. It is closed off from the part of the store that is open so there will be privacy.
Everybody is welcome whether you are a past alumni or a newbie!
We will be keeping it limited to 30 swappers so sign up early. There is no charge for this swap but please keep your commitment if you RSVP yes. I know things come up but try your hardest to make it because it is frustrating when there are a bunch of no-shows. We put a lot of work into organizing these and preparing the cards.
Lets try to keep our swaps to Stampin'Up if possible but it is not a requirement to participate. You can bring either full cards or any 3-D item. If you are interested in a scrapbook page raise your hand and we will see if there is enough interest in a scrapbook page swap in addition to the main swap.
A shoebox swap is really easy. Basically all you do is design a card and make a sample. Then you bring all the supplies and we all rotate around the room and make each other's cards. You leave with 30 different cards.
Lets make it even more exciting by having the ever popular dirty swappers gift swap. Bring a stamping/crafting related gift all wrapped up and we will play after lunch. Please make sure that it is a new gift, craft related or a hand made item valued at at least $20. I always bring something that I would be thrilled to win. Make sure it is wrapped and put your name somewhere on it so we know who to thank and hug. This is usually the highlight of the day so make sure to participate. You don't want to miss out on this fun!!!
It is also fun if everybody brings fun little items for raffles that we can do throughout the day. The last few swaps we have had a big table of door prizes and we pick names every 10 minutes or so. It is a good way to purge some of the items in your craft room.
For lunch we can just eat at the open part of the restaurant (I mean everybody loves Subway, right?) or you can feel free to go to any of the surrounding places. If you would like to bring a snack or candy for yourself or to share during the day, feel free. Chocolate is always welcome! You can also bring your own beverages or lunch for the day if you wish. Let's try to keep it as simple as possible though so that we can focus on stamping, games and prizes!
I have a small list from a long time ago of some who participated in the past and I will send out a PM to that group. Tell your friends and spread the word. Lets make this the best GA Girl swap EVER!!!!

Bring the kids for lunch and hang out if you can. It is always fun to peek around. I hope you can pop in.
Hey Everybody! We are only 8 days away from our swap! We have 17 swappers but lets go ahead and make an even 18 swaps to make it an even #. I will bring 2 cards to even it out. Since it will take so long for each person to make 18 swaps lets go ahead and bring half (9) of your cards totally assembled. That way we each make 9 and take 9. If we do it this way then we are not so rushed and we can keep the entire event to under 4 hours. If we start at 10 and take 3 hours to make cards and an hour for lunch, we should be finished up by 2-2:30.
Please remember to bring any items that are collecting dust for our door prize table. We will draw names until they are all gone. And you don't want to miss the dirty stampers gift exchange. It is always the highlight of the event. The rules are in the first post. Make sure they are wrapped!

One last thing about parking. Go ahead and park around back because the back entrance leads directly into the part of the dining area we are using. Much easier!
Okay...It looks like there will be 14 total people in attendance but a few of us are making extra swaps so everbody will leave with 17 cards. It is only necessary for everybody to bring 14 cards- 7 made and 7 unmade. See y'all Saturday!
