Great idea -thanks Bev! I might also add - please check out the event guidelines before you post an event. Several non-SCS events have been deleted recently because they do not fit our guidelines.

Thanks -- it helps to see them but I can't seem to search and find anything by using the State Abbreviation. I keep getting nothing found. Any hints on how to search using just the 2 letter?

Robyn, I'm sorry that the state codes are too short for an actual 'search'.

For now, once more posters take a moment to edit their title to add the state code to the front of the title, it should become more efficient for us in a 'visual' search. It looks like this might take a little while to "catch on". I'll update if we find a better approach.

I'll edit a few more titles to add the code so that new posters might see the trend and include it on theirs. ;)

Default Sounds like a great idea...

If everyone used the postal codes, it would be fairly easy to just go to the bottom of the forum page and select sort by "Thread Title." Then all the posts would be in alphabetical order.

But so many gals like to start the thread title with *****, or with "2nd Annual". Those extra characteras or numbers throw of the entire alphabetized by state idea.

If the moderators wanted to, I suppose they could act as Chief Editors and just change everyone's title when they "don't do it correctly."

I agree with you 100%. And in fact, for a while I did come through from time to time, editing every title to add the state codes to the beginning, with the hope that more posters would follow suit. ;) Hopefully, that will still happen, but I'm glad to edit a few more right now. Many thanks for your kind reminder.

Default Unable to edit title

I am trying to edit the title of a recent post, but it will only allow me to edit the message.

I want to change:

Central Texas Shoebox Swap - August 21, 2010

to:

TX * Austin Area Shoebox Swap - August 21, 2010

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you,
Karmen Dupree

I figured it out. Once I click edit I then have to select Get Advanced. I agree that it does make it much easier to search if you start the title with the two-letter state code. Smart thinking!
