Hi Ladies...
I am home for the summer and am just so glad. It's been a rough year!
I have so many projects for the summer.

1. Potty-train my daughter and spend lots of time with her (with occassional drop offs to the gradnparents )
2.purge some of my stamp stuff
3. clean the attic... (my least favorite)
4.- open up a small ribbon store(online) and I have to look into the best way of doing it too.
5.- get ready for my fun stamp filled weekend in NC
6- my 30th bday gathering- unless DH is planning something

those are just a few and will take up much time-
I'm going back to school tonight though for graduation. I am really going to miss some of those students.

Sarah & Marci (and Lisa and Scrappy)

Today is the 23rd and, thank goodness Scrappy reminded me today, we can make reservations through tonight at midnight (I'm assuming EDST - it's now 9pm here). So I drove home 2 hours fighting 2 rain storms that almost stopped traffic with a wind storm in the middle and made our reservations - we're all set. 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa so we actually could sleep 6 unless we all want our own beds. Woo Hoo!!!

Marci & Sarah - pm me and let me know what time you guys are coming in & how - driving, flying etc. I want to make sure I'm there to meet you.

OMG - I'm getting really more excited about it all by the day. I wish all the HOs could come.

OK - help me out here ladies...I've never been to a SBS. What should we bring for a basic kit - I assume adhesive, scissors, black stamp pad...what else? In your kits, is everything pre-cut? Will there be any tools there for everyone to use? And if the image in your kit is colored, I assume you provide the markers? Or does everyone also bring their own?? Any suggestions/tips are would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Kelli--I saw it on B/S/T either yesterday or today! Just checked--what I saw was your ISO. We do have a used stamp store in my area. I'll check with them for you.

I don't provide markers. I prefer to use my own--and know that some people prefer different kinds. I do pre-cut everything, so the card just needs to be assembled. Mine does have a brad, and people will set that. I will provide the tools for that. Hope this helps!

Thanks Sandye! That does help...I figure with this crowd everyone would have their own markers! Now to work on my card...

My kit is also basically pre-cut but a pair of scissors might not be a bad thing to bring. I also don't plan to bring markers for my kit either and my image will be stamped. I think for me my basic kit is scissors, ruler, adhesives (including take, liquid & demis), some markers, some gel pins for embellies, my brad setter, a basic black ink pad and I'm sure I'm leaving out something but those are the biggies.

For my kit, all you'll need is your own adhesive. Everything will be pre cut and scored. And the stamps will be solid images, and I'll be providing the ink pads.

Generally, if your image needs to be colored for your card, you provide the markers etc.

From past shoe boxes, I usually find:
adhesive
scissors/knife
bone folder
Flat plastic sticker remover
tweezers
and a carrier to carry things from station to station

A lot of us also bring blank card stocks, blank ink pad and we stamp a lot of each other's stamps - essentially trading images.

For smaller shoebox (like the first and second PHC Shoebox were) a lot of us brought a little something for each participants (kind of like party favors). But that's not for large ones (like the Dallas and Austin ones where there were over 40 participants.

With over 20 people coming for this one, not sure what everyone will be doing...

I just have to say - yesterday was HOT!!! On my way home from Scrappy's I ran into 2 HEAVY rains with the 2nd one having heavy winds as well. My thermo in my car said it was 97F outside before the first storm and as I cleared it the temp was down to 77F. It went back up to 100F before I ran into the winds of the 2nd one. After I cleared the 2nd it was 74F (yes a 26 degree drop) and only recovered to 84F after that one. I was fairly impressed with the temp drops but was VERY glad to be clear of the rains. I think these 2 storms were on the "a small possibility of storms this afternoon" from the weatherman.

hey everyone! i'm home today and feeling miserable.

for the SBS, my DP, my panel to stamp the image on, and cs will be precut and in individual baggies. The stamps and ink will be in the box along with twine for the buttons I'll be using. I carry around a little holder with my scissors, adhesive, bone folder and such to go from project to project/table to table.

here's a peek of my card

bike.jpg

I will probably not be able to bring goodies for everyone since I"m flying and will have limited space in my baggage....one time I didn't even bring enough clothes with me, lol. But I will be bringing something for the exchange. I so can't wait to see all of you again and meet the new people coming!

Let me know what images you want me to bring with me, I am going to def. be bringing my roll call stamps from TGF and most of the other TGF images. Let me know if anyone wants me to bring any TSG, AI, Unity stamps.

I'm going to try to stamp and color and watch movies and nap today. Hope everyone has a good day!

That is so freakin' cute!

I think I'm giving up on stamping images this time - still haven't used much of anything from the last two PHC

Yeah - and with 25+ participants, I think I'm prob. not going do goodie bags either. Instead will channel the LOVE into the door prize

In case anyone is interested in ribbon.
I am starting out my venture here first... Over the summer I want to find a more permanent place to sell my ribbon.

Today was a long day.
I was taking care of lots of legal paperwork.
I finally have dual citizenship US/Portuguese. and I went to register DD at the consulate as well. Next month we'll get Portuguese passports too (me, DH and DD)

I put that ribbon as an "old" post, because I'm still trying to figure out where to list it.

Just resting ~ I had injections done all over the back of my neck @ the hospital this morning and I am sore. I think this will be a 4-day weekend for me but my manager did not seem really happy about the idea of me being out tomorrow. I need to take care of myself. (It's FMLA approved so I really shouldn't be sensitive to what she thinks...right?)

Right, put yourself first....
Obviously she's pissed, if you're not there, who's going to do her work?

Well she has headaches as well, but she said yesterday that maybe I should try OTC drugs.......the combo she uses. And look for less invasive treatment options I'm like......ok yea, this after my neurologist is recommending I go to a specialized pain clinic for an eval

There's a procedure where they actually numb the actual nerve, and then they "burn it off". I have to do some research on it.......
