Okay all you Carolina Girls! It looks like we have a date and a location in Charleston so now we just need a guest list and a food list. Who wants to start???
The date for our Fall meet is October 18th and we will be swapping 9:30-4 at a local church who has been gracious enough to lend us some space. I do need to get an idea of how many we will be expecting though so let's get posting!!!
We traditionally have a name tag contest, hand out door prizes (bring one, get one) and this year we are adding a secret sister swap. If you are interested in that let me know. I will send out a questionnaire at the end of the week and match up the "sisters". Gifts can be handmade or store bought with a value of $10-$15. If you would like to particiapate in that, just let me know.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again. We are going to have a hard time topping the Columbia Girls!!!
Thanks for getting the church, Katie!! I'll be there and I will bring a door prize and I'm thinking of making stuffed shells to bring. I might change my mind before then, but for now that is the plan!
Hi Wilma! The church is actually in Moncks Corner which is about a half hour north of Charleston so unless you just want to stay in Charleston, you could look there. There is a Holiday Inn Express right down the road. Really though anything in Charleston or North Charleston will be convenient too. It isn't that far of a drive. There are a lot of new hotels by the Tanger Outlet Mall. Let me know if you need any other information.

Katie, would you give a list of the hotels by the Tanger Outlets so I can make reservations...
Jenelle and I stayed at this hotel by the outlets. It has suites with a full kitchen and a living room and bedroom. There is also free breakfast. It's owned by Marriott. I just got an email with a 20% off link that I will forward to the Columbia group.

I went to the very first Carolina Girls get together in Columbia. Will this be the same? A shoe box type swap? Can you give me an idea on the times it will run? Just wondering if I need to stay over or if I will come back. Or does everyone stay?

The Residence is is brand new and really great. That is where our corporate guests stay. There is also an Embassy Suites, a Courtyard, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Holiday Inn. Just look for hotels that are near the airport. That is the same area.

I think what we did last time here in Charleston was meet for dinner somewhere on Friday night for those that are here and then we will have the swap from 8-4 on Sat. Totally up to you if you want to stay Teresa. Takes about 30 min to get to the church from the outlets/North Charleston area but there are lots of things to do there including a movie theater, the outlet, a couple of malls within driving distance. Not really a lot in Moncks Corner. We have more than one stoplight but it is a rural town. We have grown a lot since I first moved there but it isn't what I would describe as "happening" lol

Hi Teresa,
Not everyone stays. A lot of us (when we went to the Columbia shoe box) drove up & back in the same day. However, if you want to eat dinner with us on Friday night, then staying is almost a necessity.
Of course, we won't have that crazy lady (Big Lucy) with us this time but we will sure have fun. I can't believe her stamping cruise could possibly be more fun that our CG shoe box......LOL
BTW, Keri, you make the BEST spinach dip EVER....and your home made bread is WONDERFUL! Can't wait...Hugs, Patti

Sorry girls, I won't be able to make it this time. My DH is leaving for Canada that Friday night and of course Big Lucy is going to be cruising so I will be home with the boys. Y'all have fun!! I will miss being there.

I am not sure but I believe in the past it has always been about 1 week before so that everyone has enough time to prepare their projects. Anyone else out there know for sure? Patti
