phew, now that's a question for the experts LOL....
Right now hubby is out to buy me a plate of some sort to make part of my desk larger so that it has enough depth for the machine to work properly, my desk next to the computer is too short for the 12 by 12 to go behind it. Once that is screwed on tight I'll plug it in and try, hehe. I want to have it next to my computer so that I can get the studio software and really start rocking this thing! I definitely want to make some stuff for scrapping as I don't scrap enough but have gazillions of pictures that are waiting, that grand baby of mine will be 1 year old next week!!!

Hey Everyone,
Joanne, Congratulations on the new soon to be arrival to the family!!!

Etha, Congratulations on the cricut... and you got the bigger machine, I'm jealous. I have the original, still love it but would have loved having the bigger one too. Next you'll have to tell me all about hte design studio and let me know how that is. Have fun with the baby on his birthday.

How's the new job Kimberly? Where is it at?

Any one want to try for a get together in late February? This has been a truly busy month already for us here. Talk soon.

Mary

Do any of you ladies know where some wonderful scrapbooking/stamping stores are in the Springs? I know of Archivers and of course Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I am always on the look-out for others! If you don't mind, could you help me out?

Hi, Steph --

Simple Pleasures Stamps is located at 5525 Library Lane in Colorado Springs.

This link should be to the website, but the site has exceeded its bandwidth and is currently not available. Maybe it will be back up soon. http://simplepleasuresstamps.com/site/

Yes, Simple Pleasures is a GREAT store but watch out....you can quickly spend all of your money there!! They keep a good supply of everything you could ever want or need to scrapbook or make cards!

I have a friend who just moved here so I took her by the store so she would know where it was and could see what they had to offer. I spent $30 without even breathing hard and could have spent ten times that much!!! (But you know how it is when you just HAVE to have something!!!) ROFL!!!

Another thing that makes them SO great is that they accept Archiver's coupons. I'm all for saving money!!

Calling all local stampers
I just got a flyer from Holly Berry House downtown. They have two new interesting looking classes this year!!
One is "Art Stamps and Polymer Clay" with Shane Smith . I've always wanted to try this in the 'real' way, not just muddling on my own. I'm sure we could learn a lot from her!!
The date for this class that I *could* make it is next Friday Feb. 27, 1 - 4 pm.
As of today I was the only one signed up, minimum for class to run is 3 people. Shane's class is 25 dollars including a class kit.

The next class that is new is a "watercolor Pencil Workshop" with Julie Bergeron ( *think* I have that link correct, she is an artist in Divide, so that's close enough If not, goof me LOL.
anyway, the date I would be interested to take this class is March 10, Tuesday 10-12 am.
Julie's class is 24 dollars including a class kit.

What do you say, anybody interested in joining me??
We need to show these stores that there are stampers out there interested in classes because otherwise this will stay a stamping wasteland

The March date I already have plans. Sorry, maybe in the future. I volunteer everyday until 12 noon, and Wed. all day long. That particular day I have appointments that I cannot change. I'm bummed.

I hope the classes are fun, so what is new with you?

Hello, hello...? Just thought I'd bump this thread up from Page 7 and check on what everyone has been into lately.

I finally started a blog last month. That was one of those things that I didn't ever picture myself doing, but I'm really enjoying it. Can't believe how time-consuming it is, though.

Etha, you mentioned Holly Berry House about five or six posts back in this thread. My sister has discovered their medallions and is experimenting with all the variations for coloring and stacking the layers. http://www.hollyberryhouse.com/ras-s...allions-1.html
Lots of work, but they make lovely ornaments. If anyone is curious, the instructions she's following are here: http://www.hollyberryhouse.com/Medal...structions.pdf

So... What have you all been up to?

I'd love to meet again as well! but at the park? lol, with all our tools? I always found that stamping outside here is a bit hard due to unexpected winds and, hmm, rain?
I got a bunch of cricut carts that I could share, but I don't have any disney or tinkerbell carts that I would love to try though. ....

Yep Etha, Crafting outside is a poor idea. I meant just hanging with the kids. But crafting as a group sounds GREAT. Any idea where we can meet? I have a little room but it would be great if we had a bigger space. Mary, is Michael's still saying "no" about renting their room?

Yes, unfortanetly... they won't rent the room. You can book a birthday party though for ages 4 years to 12 years. They are very strict about the ages.

I'd like to get together to craft and let the kids play. A park date would be great and then maybe an evening meet somewhere to craft? I wonder if the library would let us use a community room just for crafting?

I cannot plan anything at the moment still waiting to hear from the t-ball coach of when we are to meet during the week.
