Hi,
I like the 12th better than the 13th. Can do either though. I enjoyed the shoebox swap last time-wouldn't mind doing it again. Dana

Joanne,
Thanks, your so sweet! I think I'll be fine, just been a rough three weeks of fighting this crud. The cough syrup has codine so right now I see clearly but feel fuzzy... I'm a "light weight" when it comes to anything stronger then rootbeer. So I'm not taking the cough syrup in daytime hours since I have to run to the school with the kids (drop off and pick ups). I think tonight though I'll sleep much better than I have in weeks.

I think the 12th might be the best day too, anything after 3 p.m. might be best too. I need to see what classes and demos are scheduled and then work us in. Do you all want to do a two hours session or three hours? Last time we used the three hours to the fullest, it was really fun.

Dana, I'm jealous your going on a vacation in a few months. Lucky girl!

Do we want to plan themes for the shoe box swap or just anything goes?

Talk soon,
Mary

I like anything goes, but I'm up for a theme if someone can come up with a good one.

Hello Ladies,

I moved to Pueblo West last year. I am a SU Deno and would love to get together with you all. I haven't meet anyone from here, doesn't seem like to many ladied stamp around here.
I'm 59 married to a great guy. We live in a 35foot 5th wheel RV in a campground. Needless to say I don't have a lot of stamping room, but I love to stamp. I'm pretty new to stamping and would love to learn new things.

I do - I use to live in Greeley!

Shoebox swaps is a card sample done up and the supplies to make that card (or item) already pre-cut, just needs to be assembled. (I know cos I asked last time!)

I moved down here to CS about 15 yrs ago for a job. It's kinda funny - today my girlfriend called me to say my old house in Greeley is up for sale again. I'm in the process of buying a new house down here and she wanted to know if I was sure I wanted to stay and not move back!

I'm not sure when the next swap is - they've been discussing dates here but I haven't paid much attention since I'm moving...

Hey,
Julie, don't know if you remember me but I meet you when we did a SCS gathering at the Goodwill building. You helped organized the event, it was lots of fun. I have heard of Eaton, not sure exactly where it is, even as a CO native there are still so many towns I've not heard of or sure where they are. I grew up in Brighton, later lived in Ft. Collins, and now here in CO/Springs.

We are thinking the 12th of April is the best, not sure of time yet. I am setting up renting the classroom at the Michaels craft store on Powers BLVD, and we split the fee. It'll be great seeing new and familiar faces. Besides the shoe box swap we have brought in snacks (potluck style) to share.

Thanks Deb for feeling in the shoebox swap details! Shoe box fun is a lot of fun, and you walk away with lots of new ideas, and complete projects too.

As soon as I can get an idea of time I'll let everyone know. Invite other SCS'ers if you know of any who want to participate.

12th works for me too..

Hey Girls...I have met a wonderful new stamper/friend and she is really interested in joining us too. She loves to stamp but doesn't know a lot of people. I told her about our "little" (not so little anymore... which is truly wonderful!!) SCS group and she is going to register and introduce herself here. I invited her already to join us in April and she's very excited!! Her name is Lisa. Our physical therapist introduced us and we have hit it off tremdendously...truly a sweetheart!!

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES...you will find we are a great group of stampers/friends and honestly get tons of support from each other. You'll love this little group!!

Default Hi

Hi Everyone, I live in the springs and have just recently rejoined as a Demo after a very long year without SU running through my veins. I would love to meet new Stamping friends that can keep my creative juices flowing. When and where is the next meet up.

Welcome, Crystal! We are planning a get-together at Michael's on Powers in April...we think it's going to be on the 12th. Mary is going to check it out for us. She works there and we have all chipped in to pay the rental fee of their craft room. Works out really well...we also each bring a snack to share. Hope that you can join us...more details to follow!

Hi Girls...

Hi Ladies...just poking in to say hello. I have made it halfway. AND FINALLY THE WEATHER IS WARMING UP!! 60 is the highest so far, but the important thing is my plywood hut is warmer. Still gets chilly at night but not so cold I can see my own breath in my room, ya know? I think I have like 80 more days or so left. My projected return date is 17 May...meaning I start my journey home so 2-3 days after that I will be home. I cannot tell you how MUCH I MISS HOME!! This gig is getting old quick! I'm so tired!!! Anyway, enough of my complaining. I hope that you all are well and get a little stamping in for me!

Capucine,
You are more than welcome to complain! I really know I wouldn't be able to deal with the conditions and especially as cold as you've been, ugh. Wow your going be home before we know it, hurray! We will definately have to all get together for a welcome home for you.

So how is everyone else doing? I'm still working on firming up the date and time of our gathering.

Mary

Good Morning Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. I thought I would stop in and give everyone a little smile with a situation that I am going through at this moment.

A little background. I have been out of work this week due to an allergic reaction with something (I think it's either cats or a lotion that my dermatologist gave me for Exema). I ended up going to the ER at 5am on Monday, they gave me some medication to fix me all up and as of this morning, I'm still in so much discomfort, itching, hives, and swelling. Mind you that I even went to my family provider on Wednesday because the medication didn't seem to be making the hives completely go away. They gave me a shot of benadryl and sent me on my merry way.

I finished up the last my all of my pills this morning and since I'm still getting hives, I thought that I would call my doc for some more medication. After talking with the nurse who only urged me to get over the counter medication (which I don't understand why I would do that when I can get it for FREE through the AF). She realized that the medication that the doctors gave me had penicillin in them...WHICH I'M ALLERGIC TO! She had the nerve to ask me..."Did you tell anyone that you were allergic to penicillin?" NO WAY - WHAT A CONCEPT! Should I have told someone that I was allergic to penicillin?!?!?! YES I TOLD EVERYONE, including the pharmacist! No wonder my rash isn't going away!!!

OMG How frustrating!!! Hope you feel better soon. I thought you were in Biloxi. There's a lady on craigslist that's having a HUGE super sale on SU stuff. Really Cheap!! Joanne and I went last night. We thought you were out of town. You should check it out. She has WAY more stuff than she listed, but its going quick.

So sorry to hear this Kimberly. How are you feeling now? I know how frustrating it is when dealing with allergies. Our oldest son is allergic to amoxicilin, and I had a huge argument with the PA at our pediatrician's office when she once was going perscrib that to him. She even had the nerve to yell at me for not telling her, and that was right after she asked and I told here as well as it being highlighted on the top of his chart. UGH...............
And our middle son is allergic to soy and dairy and you wouldn't believe how much that is in medciation being used as perservatives, it's tricky and hard.
I do wish you a quick recovery.
Mary

Wish that I could have gone and checked out the goodies...but I think she would have thrown me own once she saw me swelling up and itching like a monkey! Hope everyone is staying bundled indoors today and getting some stamping done!

$450! Wow. I wish I had that much *throw away* money for stamps.

I can't imagine just quiting stamping like she is though. I probably have as many stamps as she does -- and if my husband is reading this post I have quite a few less -- but can you think about giving your stamping goodies all away and NEVER crafting again?!!

She said she hadn't stamped in 18 months and was ready to get rid of it all. I can't imagine getting rid of all of it either. She might want to pick it back up later when her kids are grown up. THen what's she going to do? Also, she had a daughter. She might want to take it up in a few years. I can see downsizing, but never getting rid of all of it. I guess we are all different.

The lady who bought the $450, bought the entire upper monogram set. I can't imagine buying the whole set. I would love to spend that much on stamps, but I wouldn't buy those. Some might be fun, like my initial or my daughter's.

Periodically I go though my stamps and remove those that I never use. I'm finding that as I get more experienced, those stamps that appealed to me initially, have no lure for me anymore.

But the thought of no stamps still causes shivers of horror to run down my spine.

HI Ladies...yep, I went back on Friday afternoon to pay for my "original" order and ended up spending more on some current stuff. I figure why spend the s/h and tax on it when it was right there!! So much fun...I really wish that I had picked up the stampin' pastels now. I forgot once I started going through all of the sets!! You really should try to get up there to check it out!!

Welcome to ALL of our newbies...you will just love this group of stampaholics!!

Hi Capucine,
Glad that your days are getting fewer and fewer of your stay there. And hope that your getting warmer weather. It was nice earlier in the week but now windy and cold.... some light snow too.
Have a great week!!!

So we may need a back up location place. There are lots of changes happening at Michaels, I'm not even sure if I'll be allowed to rent the room. I need to speak with the store manager about it. If others have a thought of another location keep it in mind. I'll let you all know ASAP. Right now Michaels no longer has classes other than Wilton and The Knack (kids club replacement), and no more birthday parties. My manager isn't sure of how class retals will go so I'll let you all know when I can. There are so many changes I'm not sure about which way to turn even with my own job there.

Sorry for possible bummer news.

Hope that everyone is doing well this weekend. The sun keeps playing games with me, out - gone - back again - gone again. I should go into town for a few things but seeing that there wasn't a Michael's coupon in the paper today , there's just no reason why! And I'm being so lazy...

Mary - thanks for keeping us updated! Hopefully it isn't getting TOO hectic over there at Michael's...seems to be a trend thing going on with the hectic-ness.

Caren & Joanne - I uploaded my Godzilla card...I had so much fun doing it. Check it out in my gallery and let me know what you think.
