Hey Ladies...it's been awhile since I've posted but have been super busy. Caren and I see each other often. I'm still having mucho problems with my back and can't sit for long periods of time. Having bilateral steroidal injections in both SI joints on Monday morning. Will see and hope that it helps!

Doesn't look like there's going to be a time when we can stamp before the holidays...how 'bout setting up a date in January? What days are good for you all? Weekends? LMK

K...it's 12:30 am and I'm headed downstairs to sew my elf outfit...will explain more later. I fell asleep at 7 tonight so am wide awake now! UGH!!

Hi,

My name is Dana, I'm a hobby demo looking for some stamping company, or atleast, stamping things to do with other people. I came across this thread and PM'd Joanne to see about joining you guys the next time you get together. She said to introduce myself on this thread. I live close to a lot of you. I live off of Stetson and Antelope Ridge, which is close to Marksheffel. Looking at the last post, I see you're shooting for January as your next get-together. I work Mon-Fri 6-2:30pm (Falcon Safeway), so can pretty much work with whatever time/day is chosen....I think.

Joanne, I'd love to know more about your elf escapades. I hope your feeling well soon.

For getting together, I'd love to... have a new position at Michaels now so not sure if I'll get to work out the times your all meeting but I'll give it a shot. I'm currently going start working 10 to 6:30 on weekends and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday nights. Just let me know what your all planning and I'll do my best to join in.

Dana, welcome to the CO/Springs group... everyone here is so nice, I'm a former demo. myself. I live near you, just north of King Soopers on Stetson Hills. I hope to get to meet you sometime.

Good Evening Ladies! I just wanted to stop in and say hello!! HELLO!

Joanne...Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you. ANYTHING at all. I just feel horrible that you're going through all of this pain and they can't seem to help you much.

Whenever ya'll get a date/time for the get together...please let me know. I would LOVE to get together and stamp. I rarely get a chance to do much at home. But, I did get to unmount a few of my new stamps that I got this week. YIPPIE!

Hope that everyone has a great week!

Yippee I'm 8 cards away from finishing all 60 of the Christmas cards! DH played legos with the boys today and I got to stamp. Gosh, just getting a moment alone in my space with my stamps was a slice of HEAVEN!

Lucky you Joanna, I'm not even ready yet... and realized that the kids only have one and a half days of school left. So I need to get teacher gifts finished up tonight since we have a school concert tomorrow night.

Joanne, hope your feeling okay. Keep us updated.

Hi Cindy, glad to see you on again.

Everyone enjoy your holiday!

Hello my friends! I know it's a little early, but I just wanted to give a huge Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone. I don't get to get onto SCS too often, b/c it takes the graphics so long to load-hence my absence. But I haven't forgotten about you. I SO MISS MY STAMPS. Only five more months left to go! Hope you all are well! Enjoy the holidays!!

Capucine,
Yeah... we're happy to hear from you! We miss hearing from you, how are things going out there? We had a horrible storm yesterday but didn't leave much snow here in town, just very windy and cold. Looking forward to seeing you in five months. Please take care, and here is a BIG HUG back!
Happy Holidays to you and all the men and women in Afganastain!!!

HI, everyone. I lurk here once in a while - DD and family live about 10 miles north of Falcon and we visit often, but not this Christmas. So, Dana, we often stop at that Safeway.
And, Joanne, wondering about your shots - if they are the same DH gets. He can have up to 3 a year - the first series helped, but did not last a long time.
Would be fun to get together some time - but our time is usually kind of limited when we are in the area.

HI Everyone....just thought I'd stop by and say a Belated Merry Christmas. We were up in the mountains with our friends. It was quiet and peaceful. John is getting weaker and weaker and is on O2 all of the time now. Is sleeping quite a bit too. It was a blessing that we were able to spend some special time with them.

The injections have helped some...I'm a bit better but not completely. Might need a second round but there is improvement. YAY! Dorothy...I just had cortisone/steroidal injections in my SI joints. Have serious issues with my lower back. I see my pain specialist again for follow up on the 7th.

Both Dave and I have had the CO crud...intestinal virus. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK. I had it much milder than Dave. He was pretty sick. I slept for 20 hours out of 24. Guess I was tired!

Our Santa/Elf gig was a huge success. Will post a pic as soon as I can download from the camera. Was tons of fun.

K... I need to bake an apple pie. Take care all!!

Joanne, I can only imagine how painful your steroid shots in the back must have been, because a couple of weeks ago I had one in my elbow for tennis elbow, and yowza, my arm was so stiff and sore for a good day and a half. Prior to that, I had a steroid shot in the knuckle of my ring finger, and that was worse than my arm, and from those two experiences, I know that getting a shot in the back has gotta be just that much more painful--making one wonder, what is worse, the illness or the cure? Dana P.S. while perusing the gallery, I saw your Flakey Friends card-cute. I love that set.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I just wanted to pop on to say hello and best wishes for a wonderful new year. I especially excited b/c I am now in the year that I get to go home. It still seems so far away, but yet one step closer. Kind of like I can actually "see" the five months cause they are all in the same year, vs it seems so far away. I hope everyone has a wonderful new year!! I miss you!!!

Happy New Year to YOU! My sister, when she was in tdy in Korea, had a little picture of the US with boxes all over it. She colored a box every day and she could see her goal getting closer and closer. Do you have one? I could make you one.

Well, things are looking pretty good and certain that we are moving to Colorado Springs!!!! I know that 2 of you have PM'd me with some info on the city and I so appreciate it! The most important info we do need is on what services are available for autism in the area. If anyone knows and can pass it along to us I would love to hear from you! I think someone told me that school district 38 was one of the best ones to go to, any other feedback?
Thank you so much and I am so excited to (hopefully) get to know some of you much better once we move!

Ann,
I know a family with an Autistic child, we live in D49... I don't know if services are great here, she has done a lot of battling herself to get his needs meet. I'll give her a call and find out info. that she might suggest for you. I'll get back with you later today.

Donna, Welcome to the group... I hope we can all get together soon to stamp myself.

Talk soon,
Mary

A very warm welcome to all of our "new" friends that have found our thread. Please join us both on our thread and when we have our next get-together which I hope will be this month sometime! It's been awhile, I know!!

Ann...I'm not sure which district is the best for servicing autism. You might want to check on each district's website or call their admin. They would be able to tell you what services that they can provide. When are you moving here?????

Donna...an official public welcome to you too!!

Hope everyone is enjoying this special time with family/friends!!

OKay girls...here's the scoop! I wanted to check with Mary to see if the craft room at Michaels was available before I posted here. Our little group is growing by leaps and bounds and that's a great thing. I just couldn't possibly put everyone in my stampin' space and be comfortable. I am proposing two dates for our get together:

Saturday, January 19th @ 1:30pm
Sunday, January 20th @ 3:30 pm

We would each bring something to pass...munchies etc and would need to split the cost of renting the room which is $10/hour. This is what we did for our very first gathering last May. We could do another "shoebox" swap or if anyone has another suggestion, I'm certainly open to whatever. LMK what you all think and which date is convenient for you. We will go with the majority. I am free either one! Hope that this works out...it's been a long time since we've stamped/played together and am looking to meeting/welcoming our newbies.

I mostly lurk here but it sounds like fun. Either day is fine with me, but I would prefer Saturday.

For us newbies - could you explain the shoebox swap?

Hi, Deb, hope you can join us it's very fun to do these get togethers. I think the best thing about a shoe box swap is everyone walks away with new ideas, cards/etc. to put to use. Shoe box swaps are really fun, here is what is involved, and it's pretty simple.... Everyone brings a box filled with all supplies needed to create a card or any other item for each person participating. In the box your going have pre-cut papers/cardstock, ink, stamp(s), and embellishments (optional) and one sample of the project. I'd also put in the box any punches to be used, etc. Then each person creating the idea you've brought will just reach into your box and create... no fussing over ideas to creat something fabulous, the ladies have done all the work for their idea for you. Everyone participating should bring their own scissors, adhesives, etc. If you have a new technique to share that would be super fun too, but totally up to you.

Depending on the number of ladies participating we either pass the box and all create at the same time or jump from station to station creating. Its so nice to get to visit and enjoy the time without the added pressure of sales on top of it all. Also last time ladies brought food to share as well... there is a sink in the class room if there are messy projects not a worry. Also for coffee drinkers Star Bucks is just down a few shops... so that is pretty convenant. Oh... it's the Michaels on Powers BLVD.

The fee isn't too bad, if we're splitting the cost it might be less than $3 per person to use the room for three hours, and you have lots of space.
Hope we get a good turn out.

Mary

Thanks Joanne for putting this together. I'll be the difficult one and say Sunday, but Saturday is okay too.

Why yes Capucine, stamping is just more important that what you are needed there for come on home for the weekend! I wish you really could come over, we need to make sure that once you return home there is a date set for you to come and stamp. So should we plan that for within the hour of your return? It would be more fun with you here!!!

So how are you doing lately?
Mary

Hee hee! Yep, an hour sounds good! Things are going ok. It has it's up's and downs. I think I'm about to hit a down...I can feel it coming. Where the days just run together and it feels like time is taking FOREVER. But it will pass. It's still really cold here, but no snow yet...thankfully. The holidays were nice b/c it was a distraction. I'm on nights, about to switch back to day shift again...phtt! Nights are so quiet! take care...I'll pop back every now and again! Miss everyone! ALMOST 2 months in!!!

I'm not sure I can make this gathering in January
...between my birthday (next week) and my brothers (the 19th) things are pretty hectic. I left my SIL a message to find out when they were actually having my brothers gathering. I'll keep you posted though as soon as I hear when I'll be around that weekend. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Hi all,
I cannot get the room on the 19th, a birthday party was scheduled that day before I could book. But I can book us on the 20th at 3:30 p.m. The class prior is over at 3 so we may have to wait a few minutes before heading into the room as they clear out and I clean it up for us. I'm not sure how much stamping I'll get to do since I'll be on my work shift too. I will try my best to see if I can get in some time with you all. So if your up for it I'll book the room for the 20th of Jan. from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the store closes at 7 p.m. Please let us know if your going make it so we can get the rest of the fun planned.

Eileen, love the picture of your daughter.... and we can set up future dates too, if you cannot make this one, but we'd love to have you there. I hope you enjoy your birthday weekend!

Thanks,
Mary

K....here's the scoop, Ladies!!

We have booked the classroom @ Michaels on Powers from 3:30-6:30 PM on Sunday, January 20!! It's the day before a school holiday so those that have kiddies shouldn't have to worry about having to get back too early.

Please LMK if you are able to join us so that we all can plan our projects...do you want to do a "shoebox"? Like I mentioned before I'm open to any suggestions. We will all bring a snack to share and I will suggest that we call bring our own adhesive too. Also be prepared to give your share of the craftroom rental fee for Mary.

I will say that you should RSVP to me by Wed. the 16th so that we will have time to prep our projects. I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting again!!
