Are you wishing you could have a day to hang out with your scs sisters (and maybe brother)? I would like to plan a day up here just north of Seattle for a day of stamping and visiting and eating and stamping and visiting and eating... Please let me know what month works best for all those who might be interested.
Everyone can choose if she would rather bring a shoebox swap or a regular swap. That way we should have enough time for all of the swaps with lots of visiting in between.
I'm hoping to snag one of my favorite dd girls for a technique lesson. It will depend on the timing. And, of course, other surprises would be in store!
We are 20 mins north of Seattle, 4 hrs from Portland. Anyone interested in jumping in on the planning is most welcome. Thanks for taking the poll!
Plenty of time to plan your next vacation, Jenn!
Been to Seattle lately? Actually, we are verrry close to a little island where a certain friend of your's happens to live. Can I tempt you any further?
Let me know when you plan on a get together. I have the first weekend of February on the Oregon coast for stamping/scrapping. Otherwise, nothing in writing yet.

Cambria- Probably Newport. I am looking into a hotel room or Condo for the first weekend of February. I have access to RCI for condos, but they seem to be booked on the coast all year long. Except the Embarcadero. Seems they had openings.
I have gone to Lincoln City with my CM demo for the past 5-6 years. Since I started with SU! this past year, it just wasn't the same this February. So, I just want to do a girls weekend at the coast. It is always lots of fun to get together and stamp/scrap in your pjs.
Let me know if you want to get together.

I would so love to come to this. I'm in the general area and am sure I could make it. I have never been to this kind of thing, but I'm sure you will tell me how it all works, right!??!
I would LOVE to meet some other Splitcoast Stampers! Mukilteo is closer to home but the Oregon coast might also be do-able.
Jennie -- Just pick a date and I will try my darndest to be there.
Wynona -- I'll keep watching this thread.
So far the poll is running almost even - not too helpful! But there is plenty of time to still make the plans.
tinkluvspixiedust, JulieHRR, GuarinoMom, and GarnetJ!!! This is a great start!
I know there are a bunch more of us up here, so this could really be fun.

A pink bus, sure only for you! I was thinking more like Seattle v.s. Newport!
I know of a few friends as well that would probably join us. I'm sure we can fill the house.
Any idea where in Mukileto? Like a church, hall etc??
I'll be checking in daily to see the updates.
So excited!~
I've been looking into the brand new Hilton Garden Inn that they just finished building by Boeing (almost in Everett). I'm scheduled to meet with a lady there on Saturday to talk about pricing. I'm trying to keep it down to $15 a person, but she doesn't think it's do-able (expensive lunch menu, I think). We'll see...
I wanted to try a hotel so that people could stay overnight if necessary. I'm very open to suggestion, though.

Sometimes the less expensive hotels have the best cooks. Another group that I have worked for usually uses a Best Western.
SUGGESTIONS:
* Call a couple of different places and get bids. If the hotels are really looking for business, they may dicker.
* Sometimes churches will rent their facilities and also make arrangements for ladies to serve meals. Maybe you can pinpoint a church that is near to a motel/hotel.
I voted for April but was waffling between it or March. I am good for either! I went to Portland which was GREAT! but wasn't able to attend the dinner so didn't get to meet any SCSers. I don't have much time to spend on the forums so don't post much, but it is so fun to get a taste of some of your personalities - I would love to be able to meet some of you!

GuarinoMom is helping me to get the best rate that we can find.
I won't know too much more until this Saturday when I meet with this one hotel. I'll keep looking to see if there are other options in the meantime.
I'm wondering if we might need to move it down to Seattle, but I hope not.
.....I'm wondering if we might need to move it down to Seattle, but I hope not.
And I hope not. Getting TO Seattle is not bad, but getting AROUND in Seattle is a real pain! :( Not that it would stop me from coming... I just try to avoid Seattle.
Not fair. You need to have a meeting for people who live . . . in some other part of the country. And who have used their FF miles to go visit a college that their child is more than likely not going to attend anyway. Bummer. Wish I'd saved them.

A group of "us" are gathering on Oct 29th in Sumner!!! We already discussed having the "next" meeting in March 2006 - So who's hostessing? The more details we can share on the 29th the better we can "prepare" our calendars now!
PS - still "room" for the 29th - PM me for details.

I definitely can't make the one this month. :( I bet it'll be a great time, though! I wasn't aware of the plans already for next March. It does look like that is the time that most people are available (but only by 2 or 3 majority!). There is a lot of interest and excitement, judging from the responses that I've received. Unfortunately, March is also the time of the Southern California get-together; so people might be forced to decide on one or the other. There are so many events being planned; I'm trying not to step on anyone's toes. I don't think there is one perfect time for everyone, but I wish there was!
(Maybe we can get Daven and Tracy to plan an SCS Annual Convention ;))
I am meeting with one of the hotels today. I'll have more info after that.
Then I think I'll wait and see the interest. If there are a whole bunch of people that think they can make it, GREAT! If it is small due to other meetings or obligations, that will be fine, too. I would love to have it at my home if only 12-15 want to play.

That's amazing to me.... I was thinking that a 15 or 20 people would be the entire group and I was wondering why you were contacting hotels. Obviously, I have no idea how many Splitcoast Stampers there are.
There are lots of us up here.
And the Oregon scs'ers can come if it's the right time and place, so then you have a big ol' shindig!
The place that I met with today is SO NICE!! BUT, I believe that it would cost $30-40 each person, just including the conference room and food. That's a wee bit steep. But, it is sooooo nice. And the rooms are really nice. And there's free internet. And the menu's really nice. Did I mention it's nice? The price wouldn't be configured for sure until we had a final count and day set.
What was included in that quote? How much time in the conference room and how many meals?
It's not really a quote yet, just talking. I gave her info for a Saturday, 10-4, for 25-40 people. There is a lot of choice for meals, different prices. There is a cost for everything, refreshments, snacks, lunch...
Did I mention that it's really nice? LOL ;)
I was signed up to go to the Portland event and then couldn't make it. I was so bummed, I was really looking forward to meeting everyone... would like to attend your event once you have it finalized. Please keep me posted. Thanks, sounds like so much fun!!

Yes you did... LOL!
The reason I asked what was included is that I thought $30 -$40 per person sounded great. But then I realized that I might be thinking of a few more meals than what you were thinking of. I'm used to planning for a weekend convention that goes from 5 PM on Friday to 12 noon on Sunday. I'm positive you were not looking at that amount of time.
