- Shoebox Swap- Please bring an item for everyone to make. You can make a card, scrapbook page, 3-D item, etc. Make sure you have enough for everyone. Cut off for registration is July 15th so you will know ahead of time how many to prepare for.
- Make your own nametag and bring it with you! We will have a contest for the most creative nametag!
- We will have a drawing for a door prize every hour. If you would like to be entered into the drawing, please bring a doorprize to donate!
Lunch/Snacks
We decided that it would be easier and cheaper for everyone if we just brought food to share! That way we could eat whenever and not interrupt our serious stamping time! We have divided up the categories so when you sign up, indicate what you would like to bring. I will list that next to your name on the registration. The following are the categories: Drinks (sodas, water, etc.), Paper products (Cups, napkins, plates, utensils), Sweets, Salty.
Also, if you bring a recipe, feel free to have copies to share!
Don't forget- You are responsible for bringing your own adhesives and scissors. You may also want to bring a stamp scrub!
The following are the people who have indicated they are interested in attending. If you aren't listed and want to come, let me know. Also, if you are listed here and haven't signed up for a lunch item, let me know what you are bringing.

Well I'm in. Where could we do something like this? I saw in some other state's get together, that they did it in a library. I don't know if our librarys let you do stuff like that or not. We could do it outside in a park...well depending on the day and the weather. I guess that wouldn't work unless its a park with the pinic area shelters. I don't know, I guess my mind is kinda blank right now.

This sounds great! I live just outside of Columbia and work in Columbia. I'd love to get together! I work at a seminary that has meeting space, so if we need it, I could reserve a room. I'd be happy to meet anywhere though! There's also a Panera with an enclosed meeting room that could be reserved, depending on the size of our group. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and having a great time stamping!

Carolina Girls Get Together
Just an update! We are in the beginning stages of planning the Carolina Girls Get together! Subscribe to this thread and let any other "Carolina Girls" know we are planning this! If you have any ideas, pm me or thestampinmom(leslie) or list them here!
We will plan the first one for Columbia for this summer! Pass the word!
We have the place picked out and now are trying to find a great date to accomodate the majority of people. Since this is our first one, we will keep it to one day but it may grow! We are all excited and want some suggestions to make this first one great!
Don't forget to subscribe to this thread and pass the word!
Thanks,
Theresa

Way to go Theresa and Leslie for planning something. What all did you have in mind? I've heard of "shoebox swaps" but sorry to report (again) that I am clueless of what they are. Or are we going to get together and stamp stamp stamp? Just getting togethere to do any stamping would be great!!!

Hey! Somehow I missed this new thread! I will be arriving in late July or early August, so if we are able to plan for mid-August, I would be most grateful, but obviously don't want anyone to plan the event around me.

From what I have experienced with a shoe box swap...you plan a card and cut enough materials for everyone coming to make the card. Each person sets up a station for their card and then everyone rotates around making each card.
It is a lot of fun!

Shoebox swaps
We had one in Columbia about 3 years ago. There were about 15 women involved. You have everything needed to complete one card for however many people are going to be in attendence. It worked best for us to move to each station. It was great fun, and we all learned new techniques and experimented with new colors. I would love, love to do this again. If you guys need any help with planning, please let me know, I'd love to help.
