I could go longer without snow.lol Beginning to think we may not have any this halloween which would be really nice for the kids not to be slipping and sliding along the sidewalks.lol

I moved to Alaska specifically for the winters so the colder it is and the more snow we have the happier I am However my husband is with you, he could stand to wait a bit longer, as the snow can really turn his commute into a mess.

I'm sooo glad you were able to shop today! Got lots of good deals. Need to cut out some projects so I can just spend a whole day sewing friday while the kids are off school.

Oh I'm sure the commute is killer! I know I have seen plenty of cars off the road just the little that I go out once snow hits.lol

Today heading to JoAnn's there was a car upside down, highway backed up heading north and there isn't even any snow yet.

People are just insane right now! I have my scanner on whenever I'm home and there have been all kinds of accidents up here. On Friday I was a nervous wreck because hubby had to pick up our oldest at a friends house in Wasilla, and there was a big accident right on the main road that DH had to go down right about that time. Thankfully I got a hold of him and told him to take another way, but then THAT road had an accident also but right after DH and my son went through.

I dont know if people are getting careless because the snow hasnt hit yet or what, but I hate to see what happens when the snow finally does fly!

Wow at least hubby and son were safe. I'm sure things will get crazier once snow hit.

I finished one of my advent wreaths. Nine more to go. Sigh. I so-so like the way it turned out. Back to work tomorrow and Thursday...then off for two...then on for one, then off to help DH recuperate from surgery. Hope everyone survived the wind storm today!

I'm with Tracy, I'd love to see a pic of the wreath!

We were without power most of the day due to a tree falling on powerlines. Of course it had to be on a day where the kids were home from school. They are so spoiled with technology and whined here and there about being bored.

Oh I'm soooo sorry. I know my oldest has xbox withdraws during the week since they are only allowed to play it on the weekends. Hopefully today will be better for you.

I'm going to try to insert a picture of my wreath here. We'll see if it works. The wreath needs to be turned...the blue bow should be on the left of the picture. What do you think? Each of the numbered containers will have either a little present or a note of which present to open up.

I guess I should've looked at my calendar before I said anything. I work every Friday except this Friday. I can't do it this week, though. DH had surgery on Monday and is slow moving around right now. Sorry... You guys should still try to get together!

Okay so far this week has been a productive sewing week. Got placement set down along with a mug rug, two pillow cases and several felt iceskate ornaments for xmas packaging. Will probably finish the third pillow case this evening and sew up a few more iceskates before heading to bed. Think I will also get a few coffee cozies cut out and ready to sew so I can whip through them this weekend. Also need to decide which hat, scarf and glove set I want to make for DD so I can get that cut out.

Tomorrow off to the mining museum, will let you all know how it is, so you can check it out.

Did anyone else hit the craft fair? Did pick up some fun stuff for christmas gifts.

The kids are soooo enjoying the snow. Had gotten them those cheap snow boards from Target and they have been having a blast with them.

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Have a wonderful day!

...How much snow did you get?....We still haven't gotten any....I am tired of the yo-yo temps. Will be 70 on Wednesday!! Last year, we had snow before Halloween; first major dump was Thanksgiving week - and it never went away until April....This year, it is supposed to be a worse winter....

We had our first sticking snow on Halloween...think we are up to 6inches now. Suppose to get more today, but haven't seen any so far. Need to really do some cleaning around this house. Did lots of clearance Halloween shopping so I could get back on track for Boo Buckets next year since I was a slacker this year...so bags are every where! ugh.

Did you have a good time with hubby home? Hope you all were able to go and do some fun stuff. If you are wanting winter weather you can always come visit me. I'll even make sure the house is clean for you.lol

WOW What a weekend! My DH is gone this week, but managed to buy a new truck before he left. Like he had to run home and pack to run to the airport on time. Today I spent 2 hours diging out our driveway, the last 3 pricing and switching insurance, and at some point I cleaned the Kitchen...Infact, I'm not even sure when I did that all I know is it looked like hell when I got up and now I just have to do dishes and sweep and it will look fantastic. I wish I could wave a magic wand and have a clean house.... Will I ever have time to craft again?

We got over a foot of snow here north of Wasilla, it was awesome! Starting heavily snowing Sat evening/night and it just piled up. Hubby has been off since last Thurs, and goes back this Weds, so he didnt have to worry about the commute to Eagle River, so he is happy! We did get caught in the mess on the Glenn last Thursday though, with the first wave of snow that had moved in. It was barely snowing when we left the base and headed back towards the Valley but that didnt mean anything to the idiot drivers who had ended up in the ditches or had fender benders. We had white out conditions once we reached my area though and so we just took it slow and got home with no problems.

With hubby home and then playing in the snow all weekend I havent got much crafting done, but thats ok. I am always torn beween snow and crafting when winter hits

I wish I could wave a magic wand and have a clean house.... Will I ever have time to craft again?
My house needs to get cleaned, starting to drive me crazy.

Oh Michelle if the roads are anything like they were today I'm going to push back taking you to the DMV, don't feel like risking limb anytime soon. Had to pick up son at high school and post roads were horrible and then the entrance ramp was out of contol...fishtailing all over going less than 5 miles and hour. Winter weather roads makes me nuts!!!!!!

Need to finish sewing up 4 more stockings for nephews then need to start on DD's gift. Want to start boxing up xmas gifts for mailing...hoping to start post office runs by the 15th.

Yeah, I'm sure we have had that much snow too, but I'm trying not to admit it since snow isn't my cup of tea.lol Glad someone is enjoying it though. Just gives me the excuss to stay inside crafting and cooking....better go lay out the ham for tomorrow.

Did you have a good time with hubby home? Hope you all were able to go and do some fun stuff. If you are wanting winter weather you can always come visit me. I'll even make sure the house is clean for you.lol
He's still home, for another week. Took him to 3 of the towns he hadn't been to - as they do not close down for the season. The others closed down at the beginning of October. Found some lighthouses, too. - At least we will have things to do once he is back and has block leave. I am willing to bet that as soon as he leaves - it will snow! He made sure the snowblower is working well, yesterday. So, we are good to go

Oh that is wonderful! I know everything closes down around here too...makes it real hard to do these school projects that require going and spending hours there.lol

Have a ham in the oven for dinner tonight and beef stew int he crock for tomorrow night...think I'm on lock down due to snow.lol

I am completely pouting tonight. Tomorrow is the last of my time off for a while (I've been at home taking care of DH after his surgery). I did not get as much ready for Christmas as I needed to...I have very few days off between now and the end of the month. After working a 12-hour shift, I have no desire to do anything when I come home. The tears are flowing and I'm so super grumpy.
