We are getting use of the meeting room free on Friday because of the number of people staying. One gal told me 10 rooms needed to be booked and I think another gal said 15. I don't know how strict they are going to be about that. BUT to be safe... any one that booked and did not say they were with our "Scrapbooking Group" please call back and let them know you are with us. I don't want any last minute surprises when it comes to paying for the meeting room. It is on my debit card.
OK I have a question... I booked my room online so I will call them and let them know that I'm with the group... but on their website it had rooms (King Bed) available for 89.99 and that is what I got... I see that you didn't state that in the prices. Is this going to make a difference? I want to make sure that I have an inside door room too... I will be by myself, so I would feel much more safe. Can you give me any details?

I know some other ladies got the 89.99 rate for the king rooms and they said they were with our group. They had to tell them they wanted that rate or something. Otherwise it was 99.99 regardless what type of room you wanted. I have no clue about where the rooms are in the hotel or anything so you would have to call and ask. I would think they could accomodate your requests in the location and price and still count you as being with us.

I also booked my room online. I will give them a call tomorrow to let them know that I'm with the SCS group.

That is too funny! Well clearly I'm in the minority here so I better learn it -- I can remember the 5 -- it's just everything else that goes along with it! It has more crazy letters than my real last name! Perhaps if I came up with an acronym for it....what starts with Z besides zoo and zulu? Time to get out the dictionary...

Voluptious Zebras (5) Dance Zimbabwe Hustle?

Very Zippy (5) Dogs Zag Home?

Vagrants Zealously (5) Do Zero Housework?

I think I got it now

Question SWAP Clarification please

I'm a blonde by genetics, so forgive me for this blonde moment.
Can someone please clarify the shoebox swap & card swap rules & counts? And also, please clarify the shoebox swap. I've never done a shoebox swap, so I need to know how much I need to "finish." I know I bring all the parts, but do I stamp & color/embellish my stamped images?

Card Swap - 52-ish (I'd make a couple extra) full cards. No Vendor Restrictions. Make them something you are proud of. I would put my name on the back and I think we are supposed to attach a recipe, but not permanently attach it. They said like print it out and stick it to a post it note and stick the post it note inside your card.

Shoebox Swap - Complete a sample and include directions. Make this relatively simple. Nothing that needs a lot of drying time, cause we make them and move on to the next spot. I wouldn't complete any part of it. Just include all the precut pieces, stamps, ink, and any tools/accessories necessary to make your card or whatever it is. Include enough for 15. Everyone should be using their own adhesive, but if your project requires pop dots or sticky strip I would include that in the box. Write your name on your stuff incase it gets carried to the next spot or something.

Hope that helps, if not let me know.

Lorien did a great job explaining this! Once you've got all your pieces cut and supplies gathered, you put it all in a shoebox to bring and layout for others to make

You can use whatever you want. I was thinking of using a SAB set, but I have decided I want to use some of my non-SU sets that haven't seen ink yet. I've got some really neat owls from Sideshow stamps that I think I will use in my shoebox swap.

Michele, I remember the 1st shoebox Swap I went to and I didn't have a clue what it meant. I'm getting ready for a card workshop at my house next Saturday and I thought it might be helpful to all the 1st time SB swappers to see a visual. Everything needed to finish the sample card is in the " kit " and most people brought their SB items in a photo box or a basket.

Thanks, Joni! That was VERY helpful! I'm a little retentive, and thought about packaging everything in zip-lock baggies. Is that a bit too much?

I plan on putting each person's 'kit' into individual baggies also. So, no I don't think it's too much! I think it makes everything run smoother.

I'm kind of that way too, well ok, I'm alot like that too and package mine in individual baggies. My customers like it too because they keep one to put all their cards in to take home.

Thanks! This was very helpful. I didn't think about making individual ziplocs for everyone, but it sure makes sense. It definately would make things go faster and no chance of miscounting supplies.

I think it's a great idea. Not everyone will be a SU demo, but for those of that are, I think this would be a added treat.

Thursday I got an order from SU!
Friday one came from Oriental Trading
Saturday I went to my LSS and hit an awesome sale
Today an order came from JacksonBelle

I think I should be allowed to test all these goodies before I give them you all of you as prizes

Ha ha! There were a few things I ordered that I had to get an extra for me. So you will see adjustments on the receipts for the stuff I kept! I went to the LSS and they had something that I ordered online for the event so I picked up one for myself there. I haven't had a chance to play with any of it yet though.
