As long as Patty's address was on the registration form I'm all set. Is there a due date, though? Thanks!

Yep you can send the prizes to me, but I'm beginning to think I'm gonna hold them hostage in exchange for chocolate

I don't think there is a due date. But I think we would like to have them a little before the event so that we can assess where we are at with them ya know? So maybe by the end of Jan - early February would be good.

I have dinner details. I'll post the info on the thread, but I wanted to send a pm to everyone, just in case they aren't following the thread. Is there an easy way to add all the id's to the message? Thanks!

Default Bavarian Inn Dinner

Bavarian Inn Dinner
Saturday March 8, 2008
5:30 p.m.
Final Count Due February 27, 2008
Cost $22.93 per person(Includes Family Style Chicken Dinner, Beverage, Dessert, tax & gratuity)

The reservation has been made, and we will be in the main dining room. I made reservations for 30-40 people. I have to confirm the exact number of people 10 days before, so you have some time to decide. If we KNOW we’re not going to have more than 40 people, we can reserve a private dining room, but I have to have that confirmation ASAP. They would like everything to be on one bill. We can all have the Family Style chicken dinner, a beverage, and dessert for $22.93 per person. That price includes tax and gratuity. Considering the “single” meal price is $18.95 for the chicken dinner, I think this is a great deal! (Just mention “dessert included, and I’m in!)

I will collect the dinner fee. I’ll accept personal checks. I’ll take PayPal, but the payment would be $23.92. Sorry, Pay Pal charges me fees. Please send me a PM if you want to pay via PayPal, and I’ll give you my PayPal id.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I’ll do my best to answer everyone as soon as I can.

Here’s who I have going to dinner. I’ll update as I receive payment.

Who are the coordinators for this gathering? I'm sorry, I'm being lazy! I know Lorien & Patty B have done a lot of leg work, but are there any others? Yes, I need to know this info!

Besides Lorien and myself, we also have "Jen70" doing the "DD guest" coordination, and "burnham1977" (bless her pea pickin' soul) has done all of the behind the scenes spreadsheets and data organization.

As for your question about doing multiple names in a PM, the easiest way I found was to open two windows, bring up the #2 post of this thread that has everyone's real name and user name. In the other window bring up your PM and copy and paste the user names from this thread to the PM. Also you can only include 50 names per PM, so if you're doing all 59 participants you'll need to do two PM's.

If that doesn't make sense just let me know

Thanks Patty! I started copying & pasting, but I hoped there was an easier way! I'll get to that when I return from my karate class!

Default Bavarian Inn Dinner

OK, a few questions have been posed in regards to dinner. Originally, the Bavarian Inn quoted me a group discounted price for the family style chicken dinner. When it was mentioned that not everyone wanted chicken, I called the Bavarian Inn, and asked about our options. We have 3:
1) Family style Chicken Dinner at the group price
2) Traditional Plate style dinners. We'd need to give them our choices 48 hours in advance, no special discount
3) Or we can choose up to 3 of the Signature Plate Style Dinners, and we'd have pick from one of those three, again needing to "order: in advance.

I believe the 3 Signature Dinners might be the easiest, but that's my opinion. I'd LOVE to hear some feedback, please.

Also, should I start a new thread for dinner, and include our fellow non-gathering stampers?

PLEASE send me a pm, and I will tally the suggestions.
I'm attaching a copy of the menu. Please refer to pages 6 & 7 to see the menu options.
Thanks!

Great Patty! I was wondering where to put the dontation stuff. I wanted to make sure the wonderful people and companies who are donating to our event get the recognition they deserve!

I see the donation from Amuse arrived... I can't wait to see it!

Default Card swaps

About the swap...
I'd like to do 2 groups of 25ish, I just don't know about making 50 full cards. Could we break it into 2 groups, but offer people to do 1 or both groups (because I know there are ambitious stampers out there!)? Or would that just create a ton more work??

I did about 75 when I went to the Lansing regionals so-I would do the 50 or be in 2 groups if the plan is to split it up.

That's funny...I am a Rachel H. too! But back to business...This is a good idea or I would do the whole 50. For something like this, I would just prefer bigger amounts rather than too small... Then again, when I was a kid my dad told me that my eyes were bigger than my stomach!

Smile Secret Sister info

I just sent out a PM to everyone I had on the list with the Secret Sister details. Here's what I sent out, in case you didn't receive it (this is ONLY for registered attendees):

Hello Michigan girls! This email contains the details for the SECRET SISTER sign-up for the Michigan SCS get together. This is optional, but will be a lot of fun--so don’t miss out! Sign-up by December 31, 2007.

REQUIREMNTS:
We will not be keeping tabs on what you send your little sister, but just treat her as you would like to be treated. Send her nice, encouraging cards and be sure to give her a gift YOU would like to receive. And most of all, have FUN with it!

For cards (this is the minimum, you may send more if you‘d like):
**Send (2) cards during the month of January.
**Send (2) cards during the month of February.

A gift:
Please bring a gift to the SCS meeting for your little sister valued $5-$10. This should be a nice gift and something you are proud to give her. It can be stamping related products, homemade (or altered) items, and goodies. We will probably have a table in the gathering area for you to ‘drop off’ the gift and for her to pick-up; the reveal will be Saturday afternoon.

**A note for little sisters: Be sure not to forget to thank your Big Sister after the reveal.

INFORMATION NEEDED by December 31, 2007:
*Real name:
*SCS name:
*Mailing address:
*Who do you know attending the gathering (so you get to meet someone NEW with the Secret Sister program):
*Favorite stamp companies:
*Rubber (mounted or unmounted ) or Clear stamps?:
*How long have you been stamping?:
*Are you a Stampin’ Up!, CTMH, or TAC demo?:
*Favorite embellishments:
*Favorite snack while stamping:
*Anything you DON’T like (in the stamping world):
*A little about yourself:

Once again, the sign-up deadline is DECEMBER 31. You can PM or email me ([email protected]) with any questions.
Thanks!
-Rachel H.

Rachel gave everyone until the 31st to get their info into her, so it probably won't come until after the 1st - gives us all a chance to enjoy the holidays

Default New Catty in SE MI

Well, my new catty arrived on Monday. Don'tcha just want to smack me for holding back? I was on my way out to the car to go to Karate class, and the mail lady stopped me, to give me my mail! And there it was-the new catty! Holy crap! Do I blow off Karate class to look at the new catty? All I could think about was Master Collins telling me to do 15 push ups for being late, so I put the mail in the house and went to class. It was my incentive to get through class, and get home! So what do I think? I'm very pleased! i really like MUCH of the stuff. Yet, I've learned from past experience, so I won't be buying every cute set. Yes, I've bought sets and never used them. Yes, I'm sure I'm the only one to ever do that! So, I'm looking forward to the new catty & SAB! I think SU did a really good job this time!

Lightbulb Get to know some MI SCS Attendees

Just wanted to remind people who are attending the event that Pattyb started another thread where we can "get to know each other" before the event.

Check it out here.

Updating the prize list.

Other updates:
Secret Sisters - You only have a few more days to sign up, so if you haven't done it, get your info to Rachel, aka escapingw/stamps - I know she's planning to have these swapped out by the end of next week! I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you this, but this wouldn't be a good exchange to flake on - you're gonna have to look at your secret sis all weekend

Regular Swaps - of the people who responsed to me, the majority said they were willing to do the whole amount, so as of this time that means 52 swaps! Remember we would like these to be your very best work! If you think it would help I would be willing to entertain the idea of doing 4" x 5 1/4" CARDFRONTS only - but before I make that decision I'd like to hear from you!

Shoebox swaps - that number is currently 53, so in order for everyone to participate in the time that we've got we would be looking at two options:
1. Three groups of 18, 18, & 17
OR
2. Four groups of 13, 13, 13, & 14
Again I'd like to hear from you on preference - PLEASE POST ON THIS THREAD!

Q/A - I've been asked if the shoebox swaps have to be cards - NO! Since you are doing the supplies, gathering, and cutting - and the players are just stamping and assembling, if you want to do a box, bag-a-lope, treat bag, etc go for it!!!

Now that the holidays are pretty much over, I'll be trying to post to this thread more frequently, so please keep checking it!

I would rather that the regular card swaps be full cards... I've already got mine about half done But, if everyone else wants to do only card fronts, then that's ok. I just would love to have the cards done and ready to send when I come home

For the shoebox swap I think I would like to do the 3 groups of 18, 18 & 17. I think the more the merrier But again, I'm fine with whatever everyone else would like to do. I like the idea of not only doing cards... I will have to figure out what I want to do
