I would like to thank everyone who attended the third (can you believe it?) Stamp-A-Palooza event. It was a great day! We had many new comers (some brand new to stamping as well). Thanks for all of the incredible door prizes. Now....to start working on the next one

Anyone one happen to find an envelope with Juanita Bozzer name on the front. It is a paper and reinker order that I was to take to Hollo's next month and somehow it did not end up in my bag. Just checking to see if anyone picked it up by mistake.

White flowers with jewels
In the first room, we had a 3 panel card with an oval on the front. We adhered white flowers with jewels.
Anyone know if the creator diecut those flowers and attached the gems or if they were purchased that way. If so, where?
Thanks

I was totally impressed with the sewn mug cover! WOW...that's a lot of work for the goodie bag and I really appreciate it! That mug is going on the kitchen table when I'm creating so I can put some small tools and Wink of Stella brushes in it.

Glad you like it, Arlene. Joanne's sister Edie made some last year and I was the lucky recipient of one. As we talked about what to have as a participant gift, it just kept coming back to that mug 'caddy'. I thought it would be a nice tribute to Edie and since I love to sew when I have time, it wasn't really a chore. Think of Joanne and her sister when you use it. We wouldn't have the caddies without them.
Now the question is....what to do for next time? Suggestions?

I also loved the goody bag Can't wait to use my mug caddie!! Food was worth paying a little more in the registration fee, especially since our trip there is almost 4 hours. Cute name tags too! Thank you ladies for a great day!

Ever since I read this I have been thinking about it and wondering about aprons because I saw one or two people wearing them Saturday and carrying their tools in their apron pockets. Since a full apron would be a lot of fabric with having so many participants, what about a smaller carpenter style apron that is basically folding a piece of fabric in half and sewing lines up the front to create four pockets, sewing the ends closed and then sewing on apron strings? You asked, Beth! Or sew goodie bags. Or did you see the pillow that I had to sit on? Someone made it for me after I had reenforcement surgery so I could be comfortable sitting in metal chairs when going to these stamping events. My pillow has a pillowcase with two straps inside so I can carry it and it does have pockets on one side that I don't happen to use. The stuffing is sewn in a separate casing so it can be removed. My friend machine embroidered my name on it, too, and used cat fabric. Actually a sewn goodie bag could be made into a pillow like mine if people wanted to add their own pillow form.
I already put my Wink of Stella brushes in my mug. One in each pocket and the rest in the middle.

Funny you should suggest an apron and a bag....those were our first and second event gifts. Other thoughts?

I just posted this on the Syracuse thread. Some of you met Lorraine at the fall Buffalo event so I thought you might also like to know.
CALLING FOR A CARD SHOWER: I am not a believer of putting out "general" requests on SCS but think it's appropriate here since the shower is for someone that many of you know. (I'm also going to post this on the Buffalo thread.)
I was stunned a couple of days ago to learn that Lorraine had fallen on her stairs and suffered a broken back! This is much of what has been distracting me from updates and other things that needed doing.
I am happy to report, however, that I spoke with her this afternoon and she is a bundle of positivity. She is certain that she will be joining us in May (and for some other events in between). I totally believe her but may need to do something a bit different to keep track of the demo swap til she is back online. I'm still figuring that out.
So, the cards...if you know Lorraine, please feel free to mail a get well card to her at home. If you don't know her or don't have her address but would like to send a card, feel free to send one care of me. (Remember that my address is in the registration form [for the Syracuse event].) I'll be sure that she receives them.
I know that when I broke my shoulder shortly after my retirement (yes, Lorraine recently retired!), it meant a lot to receive cards from my SCS friends. You guys are the best!
Thanks.

The bunny shoebox card in group 1-21, who is the maker of the stamp? I thought I wrote it down but must have not. Any help is appreciated.

It is with heavy heart that I have to post this. The "Williamsville"Stamp-a-Palooza for October 2014 has to be cancelled. In trying to find a location close to the previous Wegman's location, we have drawn a blank for that date. We will, however, be having a March and October 2015 event. (Already secured a location just a mile or two away). Please pass this information along to anyone who had planned on coming. Apologies offered to the other hostesses who worked around our date.
