Hi Ladies!
Here's the info for the Friendship Swap. This is a regular Shoebox Swap like the ones most of us are used to. There is a $25 fee per person to cover the cost of Food, Door Prizes and any other expenses to host the shoebox. Lunch will be Make Your Own Salad and most likely a hot Sandwich or Soup to go with it (more to come on that later). Soda will be provided, I will try to accomidate most preferences ~ Coke, Pepsi, Diet etc. Please read over the Tip Sheet to make sure your fully understand the optional swaps. Also PM, email, [email protected] or post any questions you have so we can help you out. This is a GREAT group of Stampers so don't be shy. (Jodi ;o)

I'm going to consider this. I'd be coming from Lacrosse, which google maps said is 1hr. 45min. Not too bad, really. I've read about your swap before. Thanks!

I am in, printed it, will be sending payment this weekend. Woo hoo. Is the recipe card a certain kind or whatever we want. I know originally we talked about a microwave dish when we were doing this at your place. Let me know...thanks
Jen has offered to mail cards for anyone wishing to donate them. These cards would be both for the troops to mail home to loved ones and to read so that they can feel appreciated too. I plan on making/donating some of each.
I have decided to leave the the recipee card and the shoebox card itself open for you to choose what kind you want to make.
Just a friendly reminder to all participants ~ Please use quality products such as Stampin Up, Gina K or other reputable company.
There will be some prizes for the ones that get the most votes though and I have already ordered some pretty nice prizes.
The participant list will be started soon and updated as forms come in. I am working on projects for another get together right now. Classes will be starting in "Paradise" soon so be sure to check out my blog for updates.
Melissa I'd love to participate but likely will be recovering from knee surgery. Won't know surgery date until early March but since I local I should be able to get all my cards to you before the swap. Do you have a limit of number of participants? I want to pass this info on. Susie
Hi Susie and all the other Friends out there,
The limit will be set at 40 stampers. That's the number Carrie Ann always uses and honestly, that's the most cards many of us are willing to do. We have 10 ladies that are "in" right now. A list will be posted once I know what optional swaps they are doing. We generally get between 20-25 people signed up for a shoebox swap.
You can definitly attend by proxy if you need to. We can set up a "special" spot for you so you don't have to move around so much if you can make it out. We would love to see you.
New Stampers don't be frightened away by the numbers. These are SUPER nice women and most of them teach stamping so they will help you out. We all attend our frist shoebox at some point in life. Truth be told it is usually the one we remember most! Plus you get the added bonus of meeting GREAT New Friends! Oh, and you will learn alot of new stamping techniques too.

You can case cards if you want. I would suggest that you make a couple chages to it though just in case someone else cases the same cardy.
I hope some of your stampers do come Susie. They make some really great stuff. Beth won the Lottery catagory when she attended before and the rest of that group is really talented too. Seeing them again would be WONDERFUL!
I will send the cards to Operation Write Home for anyone that wishes to bring some to donate so our heroes can write home. If you don't know of OWH, please go here - Operation Write Home: Helping Heroes Keep in Touch with Home - to learn more. The biggest 'rule' is NO GLITTER. It's a safety hazard. :( Basic themes (blank, love or miss you, thinking of you, birthday) are always needed.
I have a BOX iof stuff set aside for the garage sale and Mel, I'm sending my registration stuff in this week. Woot!

For those of us that like to live in our own little world, Postage Rates went up on Monday. If you use forever stamps your safe but if you like the cute stamps you now need to add a 1 cent stamp. Whoopsie, I already goofed once. Just wanted to pass it on. The Post Lady did let me know about some cute doggie forever stamps though.

I am really looking forward to this swap. when is the cut-off date for registration. I don't want to start too early, but I can't wait to get started. let me know. I have my recipe, but I don't think I have enough paper to make it the exactly the same, if the concept is the same, does it matter if you use different DSP. Also, same with the ABC, I know what I want to make, but they definitely will not be the same DSP. Your thoughts? I know in the past some don't mind, but some do...

You know me I'm pretty easy going~so long as the design of the item is the same use what you have. We all know that you are an over acheiver any way wo no worries. I only ask that all particpants use quality supplies so no one feels cheated~other than that let those creative juices flow free!

The deadline was extended just a couple days too give a few more people a chance to see what their schedules would allow. The totals for each swap category will be out later tonight that way the ambitious stampers can get their glue on.

Here are the totals for the Friendship Swap on April 14, 2012;
23 Cards ~ Make 12 and bring kits for the other 11
13 Anything But A Card ~ make 12 items of the same design using your stamping stuff but not a card
12 Recipe Cards ~ 6"X6" scrapbook style page with a recipe of your choice (originally microwave favorites)
13 Notebooks ~ decorate 13 full size notebooks (composition or spiral) in a similar way to exchange
Lottery you make 1 nice gift to give to a fellow stamper a minimum value of $10.
These are the new totals and this should be the only change to our totals. There has also been a change to the number of pre-made cards and kits to bring.
Thank you to everyone for all the nice words also.
We are having build your own salad, tons of chocolate and other goodies to eat but I forgot to ask what the pref is for drinks. Soda ~ diet or regular, brands etc? or G2 Flavors? Bottled Water with add a flavor packets on the side? Juice? Open to suggestions just let me know. We go to Sam's club once a month and I will just pick up what will make the most people happy. Non-alcohol of course.
