Wow, 3000! When we get close to 5000, we have to make a new thread. Something about how the SCS server is set up. I wonder if they'd let us into a demo-only area? Anybody have any influence?

I am feeling better. Still not back to normal, unfortunately, but better. Thanks!

Spencer was excited to see James. He has been a lot better about hanging out with James this weekend instead of me. He is doing so well it's amazing. I haven't witnessed a lot of the behavior that his previous mother told us about. Not that it's been easy, but he's a great kid.

PS I love my ATG. I have the one Amy talked about. I've had it less than a month and have been through two rolls already. I'd hate to think how much Mono that would have been.

Hi all you busy bees!

Shopping for us today was returning a netbook we bought on black Friday. Talked ourselves out of it. And still may sell DH's laptop too, maybe.
No Christmas shopping - done so far as that goes. The nieces/nephews on DH side just getting money - and when we see them is so not predictable, so not doing anything until we know for sure. Oh, I do need to get one thing for BFF, but that won't be difficult.

I made 3 peace banners and wanted to get another one done before our get together tomorrow night...boss called and wants me to work tomorrow - and he lost his cell phone at the hockey game Friday night. That should be fun fielding all his calls. Hopefully I will have time to get another one done...not sure I need it, but my luck will be I will if I don't have it and I won't if I do.

I did not make it postal yesterday, but will tomorrow and it will be priority. I did not get out of my jammies yesterday! Which was really nice!

Okay - off to start that banner and address Christmas cards.

Well I never thought I had much pull when I was an active mod, now I'm retired. If everyone is a demo why not a chat thread in the demo business area. Then we could discuss business stuff too, without worrying about what we might be sharing?

Yeah, that's a good idea. Originally, they just told us our Convention thread was being shut down, and we scrambled for a place. I can't remember why we didn't just go to Demo Business talk???? Seems like there was a reason, but I can't remember it now. LOL All part of the post-Convention haze.

I have a sideline who swears by her ATG. With scrapbooking, I've thought of buying one. It would save on tape and gluesticks. I usually use the mono liquid.

Everyone has been out shopping. Something I haven't yet tackled. I did let the Kohl's sale go by. I had a 30% off last sale and pretty much shopped myself out there.

We are suppose to get 7-10" of snow by Tuesday night. The second night of my Holiday event is planned for then, 5 are suppose to come. I really wanted to take all the stamp stuff and tables down. I use my living room for classes and camps. lol I'll never get them to all come on one night to make it up.

Well I better get some sleep. The dog got me up at 4:30am and I didn't go to bed until 1 am doing prep for today.

I went and read the desrciptions of where to post in the demo forum. Would you consider us a support group for upline/downline?

We could post in that section. lol

I think we'd be fine in demo business talk. If they don't want it there they will tell us. Maybe a more business related title for the thread? Like:

What are you doing in the new year? We already know you're addicted to swapping?

Oh Jen
Don't watch the Simpsons Sunday. The ad was all about Killer Bees. Not my kind of fun show.

LOL!

Yes, I actually think this is a sort of upline/downline/sideline swappin' support conglomeration....(that way we wouldn't be up in the main page of regular demo business talk)

Sorry about the snow Kim! I'm sure it would feel great to be "done" with the class instead of having to be available for make ups....Maybe it will wait until your class is over....

We shopped today while 6yo DD was at Christmas play practice...2yo DD doesn't really notice what we buy. We also went caroling tonight....just the four of us and just to three friends of ours. It was to appease 6yo (we aren't great singers)...she was in a blue funk about not going caroling on Friday (December 5th...the day I named as a possibility when she pressed me back in November) when DH and I went out to eat and shopping. We still need to get Wii games...suggestions?
Well what a long blurby about myself...sorry!

Paula I'm glad Spencer is doing so well! Wonderful!

I have the nervous "will my elfette like her stuff" feeling now that you all have mentioned it several times....ack!

I hope the girls' Christmas dresses arrive in the mail tomorrow and I can take pictures on Tuesday. I want to get my Christmas cards finished!

Wii Game suggestions:

Boom Blox is what AJ has asked for. It was created by Steven Spielberg as a game he could play with his kids. We rented it a few months ago and all of us enjoyed it.

Mario Kart (if you don't already have it.) All my brothers, SIL's, nieces and nephews play this too.

DeBlob- I haven't actually played this yet but we are getting it for Christmas and it got good reviews on Amazon and Toysrus.

We also love Mario Galaxy and I love Mario Party (but I am the only one who does.

We're suppose to get snow today. Saturday, AJ was playing outside in shorts with no shoes. I haven't seen what the weather is suppose to do the rest of the week though.

Good Morning Everyone,
I had a very productive weekend, but not with stamping We finally got all the leaves and debri from the yard cleaned up. Our darn trees don't drop their leaves in a timely manner, so we clean up for ever. We entertain ourselves by keeping track of how many bags it takes us to clean our mini orchard. This year is the record, thirty 45 gallon bags of leaves! It's supposed to snow today, so I'm glad that's done. I told my DH that next weekend, I'm spending in the craft room whether he likes it or not. He can go tinker in his garage.
We got a Wii! I'm so excited. We only have the game it came with, but I think I'll wait until after Christmas to get more. I thought about getting WiiFit, but some one told me your charater "grows" bigger if you miss a few days. My fragile self esteem can't take that, lol!
Jen - I'm sorry about your friend, it's good he could be with his wife when he passed.
Paula - I'm so glad Spencer is doing well. Christmas should be fun with both your boys. I'm thinking about posting for another Utah shoebox swap in February, what do you think?
Amy - If we have a swap in February, you should take a road trip! Weather permitting
Rhonda - I can't wait to see your "Bee" card. Your wiper card with the bees and hive still sits in a place of honor on my desk.
Lisa - I love jammy days!
Pam - I'm a homebody at heart as well, I just never get to stay there!
Well everyone! Have a great day. I'll check in later, work will be slow today.

Hi, Everyone!
Jen, sorry about the passing of your friend - such a loss, he was so young.

Snow, snow, snow!! Lucky girls! I wanna make snow angels and build a big snow fort with tunnels and everything. Hey, maybe I should go to the beach and make a "sand angel" and a big "sand fort" - I just need to change my attitude!

Missi, wow - a mini orchard! I'm envous! What do you grow? We have (one) orange tree, and the oranges are almost ripe - hoping by Christmas!

Rhonda, you are on a creative roll - your bee card in the gallery is just too awesome!

Off to do some work, and squeeze in a little cookie-baking!

Good day, everyone!

Default Too Many Trees

Pamela - We have 3 cherry trees, 2 apple trees, 1 pear, 2 apricots, and 2 plums (we lost our peach trees, so will plant those next spring). We also have 3 huge English walnut, 2 hazel nut and 2 pecan trees. Then we also have 11 3 story spruce trees and a few other assorted trees. They all have lots of leaves and debris, but they are beautiful. We throw away enough walnuts to feed a small country I'd love a citrus tree, but it's too cold here.

I am so sorry for you friend's loss. It is so hard to lose family at this time of year. I always make a memory board (I think I am going to start doinng a memory book, so they can keep those.) of stories and pictures when a family member/good friend passes. Then we can honor them by remembering their life and all the things we love about them. I started doing this with the loss of my grandfather 27 years ago. Now if I don't offer aunts are upset with me.

Please no snow tunnels for your children. A few years back we lost three kids in our area who smothered in a snow tunnel when it collapsed. It was such a sad funeral. Same thing goes for building tunnels in the side of a sand dune.

Snow angels are so fun. It makes me smile when I see them in people's yards. I'd make them too, but I'm not sure I could get back up!

Missi has a beautiful yard. It feels very woodsy right in the middle of her neighborhood. I was lucky enough to stay with her last convention.

Well I'm off to snowblow the 3" inches in the driveaway that fell last night. Very lightweight. The storm warning for our (up to 12" now) snowstorm, starts at 4 pm. I will be cancelling tomorrow night 's class and offer it again for TH, otherwise we may be into another storm. Thank goodness gas has gone down I'l be buying lots of it for the snowblower. It's 19 degrees today, yesterday ast 6am it was -6 when I got up.

Missi- Maybe March would be better than February for another shoe box swap. Seems like last year, my February was so busy with Sale-A-Bration and my life that I could not put one more thing on my calendar. Maybe this year won't be as bad?

Warm hugs to those who are cold and dealing with the snow today. As Rhonda said, it's in the 50's here in OK, but WINDY! It's trash day today and the wind is blowing over trash cans all over the place. My neighbor just rang my doorbell to tell me that MY trash can had just blown over. While I was out there picking up trash, my neighbor's (who had just come to tell me about my trash) recycling bin was blown over. I just picked up her stuff as well.

I loved hearing about your trees, Pam and Missi. Don't have any such number here on my lot!

Jen, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. I know you have a heavy heart today. I hope you feel our hugs and well wishes for you.

Rhonda, as Pam said your bee card is too cute! I'm on the hunt for a couple more Wii games too - we got Mario Super Smash Bros., M & M Kart racing, Sonic Rider and Carnival games in our bundle. Looking for something more for teenagers - but guess they will let us know what they like after Christmas!

I have a son who is a missionary for my church in Japan. We haven't heard from him for a couple of weeks - other than to tell us that he's in a new area with no email. I'm on an email list with other mom's whose sons are in Japan, too. I happened to mention that I haven't heard from my son for awhile, and one mother asked her son in an email if he happened to know my son - and he did! And he has recently talked to my son!!!!! He emailed back saying that my son is currently in Izumi and is doing well. This mother forwarded me her son's email with this info.

I don't know if you can imagine our relief or our tears as we heard this news! I know that we'll get a snail mail letter any day, now, but just to know where he is and to know that someone actually has seen him is the BEST news!

It's going to be a busy Monday here!

That is great news about your son Kathy. I can only imagine what that would be like since my DSs have never been away from me for more than a couple of days at a time. Glad you got some news.

Hey everyone - Paula found me and asked me if I was cured! Definitely not! Just been struggling with work and had a bit of a breakdown last week. It pi$$es me off when I let something trivial get under my skin but a person can only be so strong for so long in an environment like that before you are bound to have a bout of mental whiplash! I took a personal day to today, canceled all my meetings, and I'm going to work on my calendars and Christmas cards. Con even went in late to work so he could spend some time with me so I can try to get myself in a good headspace.

Anyhow, off to read the threads I missed (may need to make lunch since I think I'm like 500+ posts behind - yikes!!!) The snow is starting to melt here but it was so pretty to watch this morning!

Kim - You're sweet. I don't know if you were lucky or not, since you did loose a shoe while you were here (my pup thought Kim had brought her a new chew toy!).

I can't seem to focus on work. I looked outside and we have couple of inches of snow. It's the first time it's stuck this year. I guess I should be grateful, but I wish it would only snow on the weekends, so I don't have to drive in it!

I'm so glad you heard from your son (even if in a round about way) Kathy! Hugs! What a relief to know where he is! I actually can't quite imagine what that would feel like, but not easy-that I can imagine. You moms (Shelli, my challenge chaser friend Wendy, you) are so brave I think. It is admirable.

Hugs to you Stacy!! I hope it gets better soon...have a lovely day today getting some fun things done!

I'm having such a hard time getting Splitcoast to load today!

Jen--I'm so sorry for your loss. {{{Hugs}}}

Kathy--So glad you have news of your son! I remember when my brother was in Portugal, and their mail system was notoriously unreliable. We'd go for 2 months with no mail, then get letters in reverse order. <roll eyes> It was really hard on my mom, and there was no email in those days.

Kim--Be careful with that snowblower. You have to save strength to stamp!

Rhonda--My girls are 17, 16, 14, and 9. For Wii, I got High School Musical for the 9yo (but I know they'll all play it) and DDR with 2 dance mats for the older girls.

And I also have the "Did I totally under-achieve on the elfette gifts????" LOL

Missi--we have the same tree problems you do! We had a big windstorm about 10 days ago, so that got *most* of the leaves down. The rest are just going to have to live on the grass till spring. LOL The chickens like to find the worms and bugs that hide under them, anyway. We have a Chestnut tree that hangs onto its last leaves till about New Year's, it seems.

Hugs to everyone! I'm sure I missed a bunch!

Stacy! I was thinking about you last night and wondering what was up! This is such a stressful time of year, I think. I mean, I didn't think *I* was terribly stressed, but even if it's those around us, it ends up being our problem, right?

This is the time of year my little brother died, so it's a struggle for my mom. And all of us, of course, but it's different for us.

Being sick has really forced me to slow down and figure out what's important this year.

OK, so now I'm wondering if my elfette gifts are going to be liked. I didn't do as much handmade as I wanted. Time ran short. I still hope she likes them!
