It's one I was invited into by my upline's upline. The hostess is local but I think it's people across the country. Will know once I get them back on the 20th!

hee hee - I didn't know Margo was your upline! How funny is that? Yes, that's the host for this swap. I hope I get some good ideas back - some of the swaps I've been in lately have been a little rough - not styles back that my customer base is liking much but I think this will be a good one!

Those swaps end up being about 1/3 things I like, 1/3 things that are usable but not my kinda thing, and 1/3 yuck. LOL Sometimes I get surprised, though!

The swaps that go on at the business meetings are really good.

I just strive in mine to make sure they are good quality (aka straight). That way, even if they aren't someone's personal style so they can't be used for a camp/project, they can still make for a good display. I HATE working hard on my swaps and getting ones back that are crooked. They don't have to be ornate, but if you make a lot of something, don't you want them to be straight? Is my OCD showing through too much now?

Cute card Stacy. And how fun that you and Amy are in the same group (sort of).

My must haves from the mini:
Eat, Drink & Be Scary (love that hat, love the tag, love the spiker!)
Felt Flurries (I think I am going to get the small ones, but still not sure)

I love Happy Blessings but I don't know if I would use it enough. Not really in love with any of the Christmas sets from the mini.

I have some more punches to buy (tags and ovals) and more DSP, ribbon, CS etc. I am waiting until the new DE are available for preorders. I know I want the "Season of Thanks" one that was shown in the shadow box at convention. And the "Wise Men Still Seek Him" one that was shown at convention too. Can't wait to see the rest.

I'm waiting for the decor elements too!

I really am lusting for that Season of Thanks one....in fact, before this was even announced, I went out and bought three shadow boxes this weekend! I so want to do this as a camp and give as gifts.

I bought a float frame today with this one in mind. I am thinking of putting leafs between the layers of glass with the saying on top of the front glass. I also bought a red metal plaque to put a Christmas one on too. Hope that something will fit on it. Crossing my fingers that we'll get a peak this week.

I finished my Holiday Mini Preorder at 12:08 am.
Here's what I got:
Creat-a-calendar (I'm going to make this a class so I wanted to get one to design with as an example to lure my ladies LOL)
Season of Friendship (I'm an easy sell on tree stamps! LAAT is by far my fav stamp set ever)
Little Snow Flurries (I figure if I like them and *USE* them I'll get the Big ones later)
Home for Christmas (no brainer)

Quick question: I don't care for my Join in the Cheer Decorative Strip Die. Do you guys think SU! would trade it out for me for a another die? I haven't even opened it...I just know it's not my style.

Tell me why you don't like it. I am wavering! I see some cool things with it, though!

I don't know--they should exchange it, shouldn't they? You might have to pay shipping.

Too funny! I REALLY want to put in an order today, but I keep telling myself to wait for the DE pre-order. But do I REALLY need to wait????? I also need a million dollars - or at least enough for one of everything from the mini. It's hard to decide what I have to leave off my order.

I can*not* come to any sort of decision about several things:
the holiday mini bulk orders--where are they?
Season of Friendship--do I need it?
extended spacer and Join in the Cheer strip die--I *think* I need it
Christ Is Born--possibly what I would use for the SA Christmas swap
DSP Autumn Vine--more DSP? really?
love the Scandinavian stuff, but it's an awful lot like Snow Swirled, which I love more
Cardinal Christmas--one of those sets I would love to own, but might not ever use

These I know I need:
both scallop circle dies
Snow Swirled
Ski Slope DSP
Little Felt Flurries (anyone else wanna know the sizes on these things???)
Rope Twine
Candycane ribbon
bunch of ribbon and cardstock
and a million dollars
tee hee.. make others mad by expediting.. I think I know who.. tee hee.. million dollars.. funny lady amy!

Question about DBWS: Is there a way to delete date/time. I want to put some events but don't have a specific date and I can't figure out how to eliminate that part?

If I remember right, there is a check box for all day event. Try that.

Tonight I finished my card for the SA swap. So CUTE!!! I can't wait to send it out.

And I made a card for Belinda King's color challenge. She's not getting much response on her challenge - and the colors she has picked out are gorgeous, so I thought I would post here and see if any other SA's would want to lend some support. Belinda does such a super job as a moderator here.

Check out her blog for the details:

I think I'm going to change my set for the SA....not in love with HIHH any more.....

I'm on Belinda's challenge if I can beat her midnight Tuesday deadline.

Glad Bev and Jen found us! Hi girlies! I scrapbooked this weekend...good thing I need to send email pictures of them tomorrow since I have a scrapbook in an evening planned with an order date of September 9th... (3 girls have already ordered their kits).

Hi Ladies!
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. We got home yesterday afternoon from camping all week and although I accomplished some things at home like the mountains of laundry and unpacking the camper I have not read the thread yet for the last weeks posts to get up to date. Right now I am sorting through the piles my boss left me on the desk (one big pile I should say rather than making him sound organized at all!). I hope to get all caught up with you ladies by tonight.

PS - if someone would like to host the SA Christmas Card Swap I am all for it as my schedule seems to be filling fast. I am looking forward to seeing all the new catty swaps arriving soon!

Well, I placed an order this morning. I was trying to hold out till October 1 since I've already met my mins this quarter and my one customer (other than me) is placing an order this month, so I will possibly be making my own mins next quarter. But I couldn't resist a couple of the Sizzix dies. And I needed some cardstock and had to replace a broken punch. So I placed a little order ($70) and didn't expedite. I do know what you mean about the "added value" of doing that tho, Amy!

Well, while I was waiting for the school bus today, I sketched out my SA swap! Now, to hope it looks just as good in real life. At least I have my idea done!!

I wouldn't mind hosting the Christmas card swap. I love Christmas and well, my divorce is starting to get tough, so seeing all the cards first each day, will definitely help my mood!! Any ideas on when we'd like to do it?

Jen - sorry the divorce thing is getting tough for you. Hugs! One day at a time and remember what is truly important and try to not sweat the small stuff. Re: the Christmas card swap - anytime you want...I am going to hold off until commissions are deposited before ordering my pre-order stuff, but I can have my design ready to go as soon as my order arrives - you name the date! P.S. nice avatar photo

Amy - love your CQ swap and the updates on the blog. A handsome boy you have there.

Lisa - I am hoping my classes will help take care of my mins for next quarter. I certainly helped myself this quarter!

Rhonda - whatever set you want will be great I am sure!

Kathy - can't wait to see your cards! I have to go check out that challenge.

Bev - let me know what you think of the create a calendar...not sure what I think of it just from the photo/description yet...

re: DE I was one of the lucky ones to have won the Season of Thanks DE at convention I still have to get my shadow box though...hopefully will have time this weekend to go out and get it so I can have my box for display for my class on the 20th.

Holiday Mini - I will be getting all the DSP and the Scandinavian set and wheel (I am a true Norske) - cannot wait to try my hand at coloring to see if I can emmulate rosemaling.

Still reading posts to get caught up on all the news I missed.

Hey Amy,

Checked out your blog quickly....very nice. Great samples!! I just have to comment about your son...He sounds so much like my son, Jack. Jack is 6 and this big, ol' gentle teddy bear in this big body. He's the most empathetic kid I've ever met. And he's huge...he was the youngest on his t-ball team (just met the cut-off) and the biggest by far. I'll have to post his pic one day. Just seems like they'd have a lot in common.

Why why WHY do I always forget something I actually DO NEED when I place an SU order????? Ugh. Went to do my SA swaps and realized I am almost out of gold brads. And ours have those stupid flattened tops so I can't just substitute out of my ENDLESS stash of CTMH and MM brads.... BAH! Gonna hit my friends up for brads now too! LOL!

Sorry about this Lisa, but you make me feel better knowing that I am not the only one that does this...even with a list it seems like a leave off something I really need to finish a project or to have enough for a class! Good luck finding some, or if you need some, let me know, this is actually something I have!! LOL

<waving> Hi, Angie! I *miss* you! Wanna meet up in SLC???

I am notorious for writing my "lists" on post it notes, and then losing the post it. I blame it on my nearly-4yo, but really, I'm sure it's just me.

The solution is to always over-order! Have a full container/roll of every accessory. Have at least a full pack of every color (and size) cardstock on hand. LOL I wish!

Yep, realized today that I don't have enough RH red to finish a recipe book I am making for that shower next week that I just finished 60 invitations/recipe cards for. And I just placed an order late Sunday night.

All of a sudden I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done in the next couple of weeks. Guess I'd better buckle down and get busy!

First day of Kindergarten today though! Shed a few tears, but managed to make it through just fine. That gives me three hours to work on stuff without worrying about what DS might be getting into.

((((hugs)))) Jen. I nominate you to host the swap too. My vote would be for early to mid October.

Don't stress out, Angie! (Easy for me to say, since I stressed so much about my own swap! I'm thrilled that I finally nailed it down.)

Jen, hugs to you during this time. I think it would be great of you to take on the Christmas Swap (then I don't feel guilty for not volunteering!).

Paula, I hope you are enjoying your 'stamping' hours.

Stacy - 100 swaps? Really????? After convention, I can't imagine - I really can't imagine! But kudos to you and hope you get a lot of good stuff in return. Really cute card, BTW!

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

I have to can peaches today. Ugh. But the peaches will be soooo good later, right? That's how I get thru it. LOL

Forgot to say that I sent my SA swaps yesterday!

Is some one going to post the SA swaps? I didn't get in on the action in time, but would love to see your creations.
I've got to get busy on a new catalog swap that's due on 9/13. I just can't seem to find time for stamping If I can just get this last assignment posted for this week, maybe I'll have time over the weekend.
I've also got to get busy on Halloween stuff for club this month. Has anyone tried the treat bag in the new catty? The one that looks like a broom?

Hi Missi! We've kept them private, off board swaps, but I am sure since you are expressing interest, you will be "invited" to do the next one.

Goals for today:

Get out all the invitations for the shower (most of them hand delivered in my neighborhood)
Cut 90 Christmas Trees for my calendar class on Saturday (just triangles)
Get my SA swap cut out

Goal for my DS:
Not to get in trouble at school again today. (He got three time outs on his first day!)

Oh no Paula! It'll be OK. Boys need time to readjust to the whole back to school thing.
I need time to readjust too. My little guy goes from 11:40 - 2:10 and he is driving me crazy without his brother here! We've already run errands, he's had his snack/lunch, but he cannot wait to go, so he's climbing all over me. We've already played outside too.

I finally got my act in gear and sent out my flyer for my cards that move class. Finally....I don't know what's been wrong with me....can you say stress?

Paula - I'll hope for an invite My nephew started kindergarten yesterday and had a few "time outs" too. He told me that his teacher is nice, but talks alot while he's trying to play

Jen- How many cards are you doing for your "cards that move class" ? I would like to have one, cards that move are my favorites, but I'm not sure how long to plan for them to make the cards or how many cards are doable in a specific time frame.

Missi - mine will be on my blog after the swap is postal.....I usually blog my swap cards when I mail them, but I might wait a bit on this one to keep the surprise alive since we are only one group!

It looks like I might be in charge for the next swap, so I'll be sure to invite you.

For the cards that move class we're doing 4-5 depending on numbers/how quick they are/if someone brings wine. I am planning on having everything precut and giving them directions, so maybe 2 per hour? I"m charging $15 - my minimum price for a class, plus each person gets a mini-catalog (since I forgot to send them out - DOH!) and I might do a prize drawing or have an ordering special...not sure yet. I kind of took the summer off and need to get back in the game.
