OMG you ladies are amazing!

I have no official favorite color, except to note I rarely use the soft subtles...at least not for a primary focus.
Dark chocolate rocks, but any chocolate is better than no chocolate!

P.S. on the "idea" - please include your bithday day and month.

Sharon - so glad to hear about the go on the adoption.
Paula - cannot wait to me Spencer (through a photo anyway)
Missi - will send you a pm - don't sweat it!
Erin - I could do the whole 12 days without buying anything either...think I even have state stuff stashed for interpreter gifts...I am such a stork (stashing dork???)

Okay you gals, quit enabling...I am so ready to order Serif Essentials and a BIA...DH is wondering how to build an addition onto the house to accomodate my habit/hobby!!!

Gotta run - timer just went off for dinner

I just got Spencer's picture and story up on my blog finally. I was hoping to get a good picture of A.J. and him together today but it didn't happen.

Here's the link:http://inthesaltshaker.blogspot.com/...g-spencer

Thank you all for being so understanding! It's a huge relief. As soon as I get the addresses, I will post a file for everyone.

Paula - I did take a quick minute to look at Spencer's picture. He's darling his smile is contageous! I wonder if it's possible to Spencer/AJ proof your house?

Take care everyone!

One more thing, I can include your birthday (excluding year) in the list with the addresses. Who doesn't love birthday mail!

Paula, I just tried to post to your blog but it kept saying my letters were wrong and I know they weren't. So here's my post:
Wow, an amazing story. You, your husband and AJ are all very special people to welcome little Spencer into your hearts and your home. He is so blessed! Congrats!

Missi - are you sending the file to us individually or posting it? For safety sake, please don't post it on the open forum. (My DH the cop is rubbing off on me.)

And thanks all for your best wishes and support.

Hi,
Just checking in - another interesting day on the bus as I headed back up to be with my DD.

Sounds like it has been busy likewise for everyone else today, too.

Don't have time or energy to reply to everyone, but just know that I wish the best for all of you tonight - especially a good night's sleep.

I don't know how to write the rest of this post - at 2:30 a.m. this morning I was having a major breakdown. My SA swap just would not come together. What I had envisioned would work was just plain ugly. And I was 'middle-of-the-night overly anxious for my DD. All I could focus on was the possibility of her being blind for the rest of her life. I finally had to call uncle and go to bed.

So, I'm sorry, but I don't have a swap to send in. I would offer to send one separately in the mail to you, but I'm not going home for 2 weeks and don't have time then, either, to pull a swap together (we are leaving for TN for my in-laws 50th anniversary celebration - which BTW my DH and I are supposed to be planning).

I'm so sorry to let you down. Y'all are just the BEST! But I really didn't know how HECTIC my month was going to be when I signed up for this swap. Thinking back over my posts here the past month, I feel like I've become the 'drama queen!' Sorry again!

I am so tired tonight I can't even see straight. My DD leaves for the hospital at 6 a.m. so I really need sleep. Just keep us in your prayers, please.
Thanks!

{HUGS} Kathy! You just focus on your family and don't stress about the swap! And you are not a drama queen - we are all here for each other and have all shared our life events. I hope you feel you have been supported because ya'll support me more than you know.

Take care of your DD's and those precious babies. And get some sleep yourself!
{more HUGS}

Kathy, take care of yourself!!! Prayers are with your daughter (and you) today! Please let us know how it goes if you are able to.

Don't worry about the swap, it is not important compared to family and friends!

Wow Paula!

Spencer is sooooo cute!! Oh, that devilish smile!! I know you are going to have many fun days ahead! What a wonderful blessing! I will be saying lots of prayers for you this week and this weekend.

Don't worry about the potty training thing. My son was finally trained by 4 1/4. It was a loooong process, but one day it all clicked and he's been trained overnight too. Both my boys were like that - late trainers, but when they did it, that was it. I think some kids wait until they are totally ready to be out of diapers.

When I was looking at your blog, my oldest was standing next to me looking too. He wanted to know his name and who he was and if they could be friends too. He ended with, Can we adopt someone too?

Kathy- Your ability to take care of everything in your life amazes me. Your daughter and family is way more important than any swaps. Sending hugs and prayers your way. We are all here for each other through the good and the bad. God speed my friend.

Jen- Your son sounds really cute. We have a few friends who've had that conversation with their children about adoption.

My older DS was just a few months younger than Spencer when we potty trained him. I just am not look forward to changing diapers again. But I keep telling myself it's only for a few months. My goal is to have him potty trained by Christmas so he can start preschool in January. Hopefully he is ready by then. His current mom says he is showing signs that he is ready, but I know that the poor little guy is about to have his whole world turned upside down.

Well Paula, I'm going to say I'm jealous! Spencer is a little cutie! All the headache of paperwork and the state will go away but you'll have this sweet little boy and a brother for AJ. Spencer is the same age as my DS and right now they just want attention and love. I know you can do it! Congratulations!

Kathy - keeping you and your daughter in our prayers.

Jen - I mailed my box priority on Monday so hopefully it will be getting there soon!

Well, ladies, today is applesauce day! Our goal is 35 quarts, but we'll see how everyone is feeling in a few hours. LOL My oldest daughters are all home today (they go every other day to school--our high school does that block schedule thing), so I am in hopes it will go FAST. Well, as fast as canning goes. LOL

Then I need to make a bunch of Christmas ornament displays for my club next week. That may have to wait till tomorrow.

Can't wait to see all the swaps!

Kathy! You and your daughter are in my prayers!

Have a great day, everyone!

Girls, We are really spoiling each other with these swaps!! They are ALL awesome!! I have never received swaps of such quality before!!

Stacy's are here!! They are soooo cute!! So caseable!! And again, with the fancy ribbon tieing!!! I am not a fan of that stamp set, but your card sure makes me want to buy it!!

Crazycatstamper's are here - Lisa's are gorgeous! I am loving the colors you used!! And the background is fabulous - the card would be great without it, but it just makes it!! And the ribbon accents are beautiful!

I am sooo mad! I got gas this morning and it splashed on me, guess what I was wearing? My SU sweater from Memento Mall at Convention! It just got on the sleeve, but I've washed it once and the smell hasn't gone away. DH says I should let it soak before washing it again. I'm just so mad, of all the things to get stinky!

I'm sorry, I know this is so not important compared to the things going on, i'm just venting!

I am going to work on the treat bags for DD's preschool, maybe that will cheer me up!

And I am resisting the urge to look at Lisa's blog or gallery because I do want to be suprised when I see all the swaps!!!

Paula: Spencer is adorable!! The greatest thing for a child is to know that they are wanted. So whatever he has been through and all though his world will be turned upside down, he will always know he is wanted. What are great blessing for him and for you and the rest of your family.

I bet AJ trains Spencer for you, Paula!! I know my oldest was really helping and encouraging my youngest to do it. What ended up doing it in the end was straight out bribery, but hey, it got the job done!!

Oh Jen you are such a tease with all the comments on the swaps! I can hardly wait to see them!!!

UPS delivered today and I have to say I am not very happy with him today...it is chunky raining and he did not put the box in a plastic bag like he usually does...must have been a sub. The box was completely soggy, fortunately everything inside was okay. Whew! I expedited so I would have a week to prep for my class instead of two days to prep.

To do list:
Snow Lovers Swap (due to hostess Nov 15)
Prep for class - Christmas Card SAS 6 confirmed (Nov 1)
Have December's Class items made (Last Minute Christmas Gifts), photographed and flyer done before class on Nov 1st.
Would be nice to have January's class project done for that too...hmmm

Tomorrow is back to the dentist for me, and Saturday is Flea Market sale at local LSS to try and sell my retired and neglected stamps (to support my wanting a BIA and Serif Essentials...see me trying to justify them...).

Lisa,

Not trying to be a tease, but letting everyone know how much I love their work!!! LOL!! They really are awesome!!

I have been working on finishing mine and I hate them. OK, maybe hate is a strong word. I think I need to start doing some sketches to break out of my boring mold!!

Jen, Let me know when you get mine - SA Christmas swap. I mailed them EXPRESS - so I'm expecting them to be there by tomorrow! This move to Houston had me completely knackered until this past weekend.

Very impressive!! I would love to can. Just don't have anyone here that really is into that. I have now mastered the 'Big Cook', I do it on my own without friends and my DS (12) helps. He loves to cook. But with the 'Big Cook' it is making freezer meals that you cook later. It is great because a lot them I just throw in the crockpot and then everyone can help themselves as time allows them in the schedule. It's great to for Sunday Dinner when you invite family over as I make mine for 6 but two packages makes 12, three 18 (yes, it is very common for me to have 15 for dinner).

Jen: I think it would be exciting to receive the swaps first. I would volunteer to host but I would think it would be easier for one Canadian to send a swap to the US than everything in the US sending there swaps to Canada and then me sending them back to the US.

And by the way, I realized ladies that I forgot to put my ribbon on my swaps when I found the pile of cut ribbon on my table under another pile of stuff. Ooops....I don't think I have any emblishments on my swap and that is just not normal for me.

Have a great evening everyone. I need to get to the pool, soccer field, gym (basketball) and then church (YM/YW/Cubs).

Hey Jen - try looking at the challenges for inspiration...

Amy - you are a canning Goddess! I have been avoiding apples...

Trina - hope Houston is being good to you!

Erin - no worries, I am sure your card is Fab without the ribbon. If you really want it to look a certain way - post a photo with the ribbon...I am sure we (or most of us) have that exact ribbon we can add for you Sounds like you are very busy! Have a good evening with all your clubs/sports!.

Thanks for the link Jen! I think it is mostly out now. I let it soak all day, 1/2 of the day in cold water with borax and purex laundry detergent and the other 1/2 of the day I soaked it with Palmalive Dishwashing soap. Then I washed it again. There is still a faint smell, but I think if I air it a little and maybe rewash it, it will be ok..

I don't know what I was thinking...I have to do 20 treat bags for dd's preschool Harvest Party and I decided I wanted to use the Happy Blessings (is that the name? I'm too tired to look) set out of the Holiday Mini for the bag toppers. I used the stamp with the pumpkin and the hay...so I had to color 20 of those little suckers! On top of that I made 20 little coloring books (3.5 x 5) I printed out some harvest/thanksgiving type pictures (only 3 sheets), then on the outside I stamped the scarcrow from Happy Blessings (didn't color it) and tied them all together. The treat bags will include the coloring books, a pack of 4 crayons, some candy and a pencil. I do think they turned out very cute, but I've only got a total of 3 assembled. All I have to do is put the bag toppers on the bags and I am done. I don't need these until next week, but I really just wanted to get them done! I will post a pic on my blog when they are done, but probably not until the weekend.

I am off to bed now, hope everyones busy day went well and "talk" to you all tomorrow.
