I just talked to my DD. She's in an upbeat mood. She's breastfeeding and thought she would have to pump enough to last 3 days, but the doctor just told her that she would only need enough for a day.

The thing that concerns her is that it will take 6 months to a year for her eyesight to recover in her right eye, and until they get the cataract removed in her left eye, she won't be able to see at all. Her surgery for the left eye is scheduled for Nov. 10th, and we're hoping that they keep that date for her. Can you imagine keeping up with a 16 mo old and a newborn and not being able to see?????

I will be able to stay as long as she needs me (if the teenagers cooperate for my DH at home!). And since DH is SO JEALOUS of all my time with the babies, he is taking a week off from work and going to stay with my DD in Nov. during the recup time of the 2nd surgery. If all goes well, she should be able to see out of the left eye as soon as they take the cataract out.

Now, some wheat bread sounds good! I think I'll have to twist someone's arm here to make some.

Hi all you fabulous ladies!

I miss a day and look at all the stuff I missed! School, interviews (go Stacy), threats of layoffs and layoffs, more virtual viruses, Kathy's daughter etc...makes my blues yesterday seem really silly. And cheery Paula popping in from vacation!

Kathy, I hope the best for your daughter. She sounds amazing, and I agree that I think she gets that from her mother! {hugs} for all your worries! I will be praying for her and for you too.

Trader Joe's Rocks! Speaking of I haven't been there in a while...it is about a 30 minute drive so I don't go often, but do like going there for many things. Crab cakes sound so yummy right now.

Only worked 1 hour today. Praying for more work to come along or there will be layoffs there too...not me, but still not fun to be in that environment. And I get to process all the HR paperwork. Super Yuck! On DH's side, he is busy and working extra hours for the next couple weeks. His business is what pays the bills and so long as it is going well I can get away with my avg 3 hours a day schedule (which leaves more time for other more fun stuff like stamping!). It is a blessing to be sure, I just end up eating alone a lot.

The upside to today's uber short schedule...my SA Swaps are now POSTAL. I sent them priority Jen, so hopefully you will get them Monday - Tuesday at the latest.

3 swaps to go!

Kathy - Great start on your blog, it looks great. It is a lot of work, but it is fun too! I hope both surgeries go well for your DD. She is very lucky to have you and your DH to help her!

I went to HL today and purchased a Bind it All! Do you realize how much money I would save if Splitcoast didn't exist or I didn't know about it? Oh well I used a 40% off coupon so it was only $36. I also bought a 12x12 frame to use for my bff Christmas gift and that was 50% off. So I guess I have officially started Christmas shopping! I'm really trying to get a head start this year because last year was so hectic! Who am I kidding? holiday season is always hectic! But the more I can get done the better.

It is beautiful here in Indiana. Cool and the leaves are changing...just gorgeous!

Don't forget--order your bulk wires from bonniesbest.com. She is SO AWESOME, as my 4yo would say.

I haven't decided yet! There are so many things! I have been looking through the gallery and I have a bunch of those 4x4 coasters.

I already bookmarked that site! When I did a search to get more information on the BIA I found another post where you said that and I thought if Amy says it is so, then it must be!!

Amy is DA QUEEN of the BIA! She doesn't know that she was my enabler when I bought mine almost 2 years ago! She posted cute little coaster books that she had done for her DD's. I couldn't resist any longer. She was also my arm twister on the cuttlebug. Who knew we'd end up here in SA together???

One of the kids from my children's cardiomyopathy support group got a new heart today. It stops to make you think. Not only for that child, but for the family that had to let a child go. The child who got the heart is 8 months old. Amazing what doctors can do......

It is amazing the things they can do, especially on a baby! It is so sad about the family that had to let a child go, but hopefully they get a little comfort knowing that their child's heart went on to hopefully save another child.

Liz, I'll be in Houston at least until the end of the year. Maybe into Jan. There are a couple of people that keep talking about a permanent move, but I'm not too sure yet. I'll have to see how the company fairs in the economy - i.e. will there be layoffs. I'd probably be OK as there is another group at my company that needs people. That job would be in Des Plaines. Working remotely is an option, too, though.

I am registered for the regional in San Antonio and plan to see Sharon. I can't wait. The relo has been very frustrating and hard. I'm hoping to put ink to paper this weekend. Gonna do it regardless, so there. I deserve some fun for a change.

Well don't let me stop you! We want them to be perfect

I should be doing something productive, but I'm not! I did get 20 pillow boxes cut out for halloween treats, just not assembled yet. Then I had to take a break. That was 3 hours ago

Thanks, gals, I'll report back in tomorrow and let you know!

It's torture not opening Crissy's box! The box looks fine, so I know they're safe and not wet or something. I'll probably tear into them tonight either way - I won't be able to sleep I'm sure!

Have fun tonight, Jen!

Happy stamping to the rest of us. Looks like I'm in good company - trying to get my SA swaps done this weekend.

I took my 15 yo daughter to her first indoor soccer game of the season. She rolled her ankle, then continued to play on it for the next half hour! I was pretty upset when we got home and saw it swelling up.

She also got hit with the ball in the face - right on her braces.

She's going to be okay, but I am SO not a good sports mom!

Kathy - bummer about the soccer game! Wow sounds more contact than I remember. Hope she is okay. {hugs} to you for being the mom!

Finished my layer swap today. 2 more to go.

Way to leave us hanging Jen!

Kathy - Adding my prayers to everyone elses for your DD. What brave girls you've raised!

Trina - I hope you (and Sharon) enjoy regionals.

We head home in the morning. It's been a good trip but we've done too much and are completely exhausted. And I have my "sun" rash. I can't tell if the sun or the sunscreen aggrevates my eczema, but it is all over my arms and neck.

There is so much to do at home. Here's what's a head for the week:

1) Unpack and do laundry
2) Design Christmas cards for my up coming classes
3) Design fall-themed scrapbook page and birthday card for hostess club this week
4) Clean out and organize what we've been calling the "Baby's" room for years now and turn it into a little boy's room. Purge all the baby stuff I've been holding on to. (Maybe have a garage sale next weekend? Depends if the weather holds and if I have enough energy. I'd hate to have to store it all winter though.)
5) Figure out all the adoption stuff. (Legal, medical insurance, counseling services, etc.) Hopefully it will be a smooth process and we will have Spencer in our home by the end of the week. But because it's a "disrupted" adoption from foster care, there will be a lot of extra stuff involved.

Wish me luck! I'll check in from home tomorrow to find out all about Jen's date!

Hugs, Paula!

BTW, you know the surest way to get a baby, right? Purge all that baby stuff. Prayers for all of you and Spencer!

LOL Amy! I've almost given away or sold our baby stuff many times in the past couple of years because I figured it was the only way to ensure we'd get a baby. Now we figure if we need baby stuff again someday, we'll just buy new stuff. But we're about 95% sure that two active boys with all their various *special needs* are going to be it for us.

So I have my swaps done - he doesn't look creepy or anything - in fact, he looks quite cheery considering my mood has been rather gray this week. Sorry that they will probably not get there until Wednesday or Thursday - will everyone hate me for being late? If so, you can PM me your address and I'll just mail it directly to each of you.

Jen - hope your night went well! I'm sure you looked fabulous!

I spent all afternoon looking for elements to my husband's Halloween costume. We are going to a 20s party next weekend and he's going as Tom Joad from Grapes of Wrath. I found everything for him and am at a loss for what I should go as. I wanted to go as Dagny from my favorite book "Atlas Shrugged" but seeing as how i picture her at about a size 4 and I'm, well, not, I don't think that's a feasible idea. I'll come up wtih something - it's our tradition. I make sure Con's costume is perfect and then I stay up until 3am the night before the party, swearing, and putting mine together.

The Deets:

Ok, I don't think I'll be going out with him again. He was OK - it was a nice evening - a very nice dinner at a very nice place. But and it's a biggie - he lied about his age online. He's not 39.......he's 48!! Now, I wouldn't have a problem with that, if he was honest in the first place. He did tell me while I was there, but the more I think about, I had a marriage full of lies and deception, and I have no desire to do that all over again. And, boy, I thought I talked a lot, well, I can't hold a candle to this guy!! He didn't stop talking the entire night. I'm thinking that's nerves. And here's the other thing - he's been divorced for about 12 years. I think he's kind of set in his ways, you know? I'd be more likely to give him a chance if he hadn't lied.

All in all, it was a fun evening out, just not "the one".

Hey, Jen! Glad you had a good time! Starting out lying probably won't impress too many women, at least NICE women, right! LOL At least you got a nice dinner.

Stacy--oh, you have to show us a picture of your costumes! I'm sure yours will be great!

Ellie--hope you get a nap later!

Paula--I think you're a great mom, and I know you will have a wonderful family, whatever it ends up looking like. {{hugs}}

Way to go, to all of you finishing swaps! I think I must finally be swapped out for now. I am so glad to have mine done and postal! Heading into the holidays with a million things going on for the kids always overwhelms me! Of course, as soon as there are new stamps to be had, you know I'll be swapping again!
