I am making an apple cake for mom's night out tonight. It takes 3 cups of shredded apples. I forgot how time consuming it is to peel apples. Thank goodness the Cusinart shreds them. I am going to shred another batch so I can stick it in the freezer and then pull it out when I want to bake.

OMG, little guy is too smart. He is sitting here reading my typing out loud!

Jen - I'm with you - I love the snow. Guess that's what happens when you live in South Dakota for 11 years. Utah just doesn't get that kind of snow but hoping for some this weekend!

Thank you for all your well wishes today. I feel surprisingly calm so I know all your prayers are helping.

I've also just been asked to take on a position of some responsibility with the women's group at church. I've said I need a few days to think about it and figure out whether I can do it *all*. I'd give up SU, but that is my sanity and I'd better not give up on being sane yet.

And I am happy to be getting out of here before the snow flies tomorrow afternoon. I don't mind snow Dec-Feb but as a California girl at heart, it gets old fast.

And a new responsibility at church too...eek! Praying for you of course....for a good/easy as possible decision about adding to your family!

Happy Friday all!

More progress on swaps - SA watercolored piece cut, paper pulled and for other layers...Layer swap - rest of images stamped. Okay so baby steps, but still forward progress.

Off to have dinner with my convention roomies and then to my sister's for niece's volleyball tourney tomorrow.

Paula - have a great vacation!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Nothing to post yet. We go in about 30 minutes. I've tried on all my clothes and decided that nothing will impress a 3 year old. Too bad I don't have time to go shopping.

I will try and post back later tonight.

LOL! That's one way to a kid's heart!

My DD is a good digiscrapper and put together this collage of pics that her SIL took of Knowlton a few days ago. I loved it. Just wanted to share.

Can you tell how much I love this kid?!

My DD did a similar collage for her first son, and will have them hanging up side by side on her wall.

She also sends these to Winkflash and has prints made to send out as her baby announcements

We're back and the meeting went *very* well. Spencer is just adorable and has a great spirit about him. He warmed up to us quickly (even though my clothes weren't made of candy). So we are moving forward.

We didn't take A.J. with us because we didn't want him to get too attached if it wasn't going to go well. But he is so excited about having a brother to play with. He told his best friend this evening that he wasn't going to be able to play as much because he will be playing with his new brother.

They will proceed with legal stuff while we are gone and when we get back, we will start the transition. There will be lots of caseworkers and therapists and such involved a long the way, but I feel very peaceful about the whole situation. I know it is not going to be easy. But whatever he's been through, none of that is his fault and I hope we can help him leave it behind and move forward.

Thank you all for being my wonderful supportive SA sisters. You are all the best!

I have a layout for my SA swaps, my pocketober off board swaps and my 50 Alternative Christmas cards for church (about 20 people do 50 each as a benefit for different local charities, and they are sold for $5) Did I mention it is just one layout for all of this? Obviously Season of Simple Grace....I actually like it. I may use a different color scheme for each though.

Boy it's quiet on here today! I'm working on my stationary box right now - and it's really not as hard as it looks. I found a video that someone here on SCS has done which makes it so easy to follow the instructions. I have the box done, the 3X3's and the tags done. That just leaves the 3 full size cards. I'm on a roll!
I'll post pics when I'm done, 'cause I think it's a pretty awesome project.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

He did fine--this was just the "evaluation" meeting before they decide on teams.

Thanks for the videos!

Oh, I used your envelope album idea for my card buffet! I hope to get samples uploaded and blogged this weekend, then I'll post a link!

Kathy that's fabulous! And I can't wait to see the box. Thanks for the links for the video.

Paula I am so very happy for you and your growing family! I will keep your transition in my prayers. Hope you are enjoying Disney!

I hope everyone had a great Saturday. It was a beautiful 75 and sunny here although I spent most of the day indoors at niece's volleyball tourney...they placed 4th. We all had a good time though. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and much cooler. Good day for a turkey dinner at a local church after we get done at our church. DH favorite meal is turkey dinner with fixin's.

We're listening to Boise State beat Southern Miss. We don't have cable, so radio is our only option. We usually go out and watch at a sports pub or something, but daughter #2 had Homecoming tonite and we needed to be here!

Well, we woke up to snow this morning! Only a couple of inches. Although I love living where we have 4 seasons, the first snow reminds me of what's to come.....months of scraping off my car and snow blowing!
I got to play in my craft room yesterday! I made a bunch of Halloween treat holders. My favorite is a cauldron shaped treat holder. I should have been working on my SA swap, but I'll do that today while I finish laundry.
Have a great Sunday!!

Happy Snow Day!!

It is beautiful here - peek foliage and warm. I'll probably go for a walk later - but I really want to get stamping. I am so far behind on all of my obligations and the to do list is looooooong.....

So, I didn't stamp yet. I sat down to do it and kept looking longingly out the window, so I changed my schedule and did my 4 mile walk first. It is soooooo beautiful out here!! I feel great that I did my walk and got that out of the way! Now, I can spend the afternoon stamping, watching football and maybe have a beer or two. Kids are with their dad again - not home until tomorrow, so I just might be decadent and really make it a "ME" day!!!

I forgot there wouldn't be mail tomorrow because of Columbus Day, until I went to the post office Friday and saw the sign. LOL Mine went priority, so maybe you'll have it Wednesday.

I am making a pennant banner for my friend's mom's memorial service. Takes a bit of time to get used to the die...would help if I knew how to subtract. I have cut paper wrong several times now - 12 - 9 does NOT equal 4!!! LOL!!

Hi everyone, it's been a really crazy week and this next week promises not to be any easier as I'm getting ready to leave for a scrapbook retreat. I finally finished my SA swaps. I had planned to mail them yesterday but life got in the way and they weren't ready in time. So, I will be sending them priority on Tuesday and you should have them no later than Friday (I hope). There's no way I'm going to be able to catch up on messages right now. I need to go and box up the swaps and then get to working on getting stuff together for the retreat. I hope everyone is doing ok. I will try and check back later this week after things settle down.

Oh you guys! What a crazy 2 weeks I have had! Good and bad. I'll just give you a recap:

Started with me getting a cold 2 days before I was to go on my weekend scrapbooking crop! Luckily I felt better by the time it started and I had a great 3 days of scrapbooking, which included staying up all night one night! I got over 100 pages done. Yay. I lost my voice after that weekend. Then on Tuesday last week my Great Aunt passed away. She was 92 and very ill so it was a blessing, but still very sad. I was so upset because we were going to go visit her on Wednesday, so I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Friday was the viewing and funeral and it was so sad, but also a great celebration of her life. We had family in from out of town so I was gone all day Friday (6am - 11 pm), which normally wouldn't be a problem, but I had a class Saturday morning at 10 with 5 people. I was exahsted Friday night so I just went to bed, got up Saturday, early to clean. Realized I was almost out of adhesive so had to run to Wal-Mart to get some. 20 minutes before guests were due to arrive I realized I forgot to cut paper for a 6x6 scrapbook page. But it all came together and everyone had fun. I didn't get any orders, but that is OK. Today I finally got my cardstock cut for my SA swap and I hope to finish that tomorrow so I can get it in the mail on Wednesday! On top of all that my work has been really hectic so I on the days I was in the office I was working 12 hour days. I think things are going to calm down a little now.

It sounds like a few of us were sick over the last few weeks! I hope we all got it out of our systems before the holidays!

Kathy- Congratulations on your grandson, so adorable. That collage is cute!

Lisa - I'm so sorry about Taz!

Paula - Do not ever feel guilty about saying no! You know what you can do and what you can't! And congratulations on the adoption. Everything happens for a reason and I am guessing your family is just what this little boy needs. My mom was adopted at the age of 3 and it was the best thing that ever happened to her. Have a great vacation!

I tried to catch up on all the posts, but if I missed anyone's important news, I'm sorry!!!
