Oh, thanks! She did have a good time! We felt very blessed to find that dress (at Penneys! very close to us) when we were kind of last-minute shopping.

Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. The fact that my DH seems OK with it, is actually freaking me out a bit, but not in a bad way if that makes sense. It's the first time we've been presented with an unusual situation that he hasn't ruled out immediately. We plan to tell our DS tonight about it to see how he reacts to it. I can't imagine that he won't love the way a permanent playmate sounds. We're just taking it one step at a time and see how it goes. We are still going on vacation next week. I wish we could put it off, but it's paid for. Oh ya, and I have a class in an hour.

Lisa- Love the card. Thanks for giving us a peek.

Got my SA swap images all stamped and Dazzled up. Cut those out. Got the DSP cut out. Got the layer cut, scalloped and scored. Making progress!

DH had a job interview yesterday. If he gets this (we should know by the end of day on Friday), it would have him working in San Diego for the next 4 years or so. They would fly him home every 2-3 weeks for 3 days. We've done that before, but never for that long. Should be interesting...... MAJOR upside is that it would have some job security. The employer he is with now has NO WORK in the hopper once this job is finished, which should be in the next couple weeks...... The new employer has about 7 years of stuff they could put him on without even bidding another job. Like I said, should be interesting.....

So many of you are DONE with your swaps????? I am so far behind!

Lisa, I hope the best thing happens with the job for your DH.

Lisa, I LOVE your card!

Paula, I hope the right thing happens for your family. I know it's a big decision.

BTW, I'm home - rode the greyhound bus for 6 hours and the city bus for 1 hour today. What an experience!!!!! Won't go into any details, but I am so glad my mother taught me that it is important to bathe on a regular basis!

Stamping tomorrow! Yay!

NOT done! LOL I have card buffet next week, along with all the regular craziness, so I needed to get going early. I won't have time btw Sat am and Thurs pm next week! I'm waiting for my chunky red glitter to arrive tomorrow!

Glad you're home, Kathy! I've missed you. LOL You know what I mean--I've missed having you here every day. But I bet you'll miss your babies!

Five of my kids auditioned for "A Laura Ingalls Christmas" tonite. Pray that whoever *doesn't* get in will be ok with that. LOL

I have 2 new customers--my dental hygienist and the dental office manager. They've ordered from me once or twice in the last year, but now they are coming to my card buffet next week! Woohoo!

Lisa, I hope your dh's job situation works out for you!

Lisa, take care of that shoulder! Are you taking some calcium? It will help you heal!

Paula--hugs, babe.

Oh, and I heard from Kim (s1itcher) yesterday. She's been pretty much MIA since Convention. Told her to check in or we'd all hound her. She's been super busy, but I think she needs us. Just a feeling.

Welcome back Kathy!!!! I've missed you too.

I've been wondering about Kim. I wasn't sure if convention just didn't do her in completely. Glad to hear she is alive and busy.

Just finished my class. I only had four people come, but one wants me to take my Christmas Card Class on the road to her and her many friends. She doesn't want a big sales push, just a class for fees. Those are actually easier for me to do because I know what my income will be up front going in. Now I've really got to get busy designing some Christmas cards for my classes.

Lisa- Wow. That would be hard to have your DH gone for all that time. I hope that it works out the best for your family. Job security is everything, especially in this crazy economy. Hugs to you too.

Paula,

Your swaps have arrived!!

I can't wait to open the package - I have been really struggling the past couple of days with everything going on with the divorce/financial struggles, so if anyone has any extra prayers - send some up my way.

Off to open!

WOW! So much has been going on!
Paula - I'll be keeping your family in my prayers! Such exciting/scary news. I remember the day my mom got my little brother as a "birthday present" . I was five when we adopted my little brother and I still remember how excited I was to meet him. I hope this works out for you and your family!

Lisa - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your DH! Mine did contract work for years and it was a roller coaster ride at times.

Everyone else: stay happy, get better, etc!

I hope it works out however it's suppossed to. It will be tough, I'm sure, but having a secure job will be great. And, you can always travel out to see him too.

Lisa - wow, not sure I could be apart from my DH like that but with the economy the way it is, well I might just buck up - praying for you and job security, where ever it may be.

Kathy - welcome home I'll be you missed those boys as soon as the bus pulled away.

Amy - praying for you while you add rehearsals to your schedule and for no hurt feelings.

*amy - come say hello more often

Kim - come out, come out where ever you are

Paula - still praying for tomorrow for you and your family. I hope you are feeling better too. I have taken my classes on the road and don't mind it. I figure any orders above the class fees is a bonus

Swap progress:
SA Swap - watercoloring done, cutting begun
Layer Swap - design done, mittens stamped, rope dyed
Jami swap - joined, now need to design
Snow Lovers swap - still needs joiners so I haven't done anything with it yet...do have an idea or two floating around in my head

Class progress:
Christmas Card Class - Oct 18 & Nov 1 - so far have 3 for the 18th and 4 for the 1st...resent email yesterday and registration closes tomorrow...we'll see. As for prep...there is all next week to worry about that.

I did also want to mention that all the wildlife in my yard is not vermin. This morning I watched 3 ringneck pheasants in the yard. Got a couple photos, so will have to look at them this afternoon when I get home to see if any of them are good, if so I will post on my blog.

Boy, they got there fast! So glad you like them. I really wanted to do *SA Quality* work. I can't take credit for all the cards, some of them I received through swaps and other things.

Hope you (and everyone else) has a better day. Hugs to you all!

I am in 4...so much better than pre-convention...

Anyway, my class for the 18th...the group I had coming decided that the 1st was better for them so now I have no one coming on the 18th and everyone coming on the 1st! Hope I have enough room in my little house for them all to make their cards! Technically I always say I have room for 8...right now I am at 8! Yikes! That will be a first.

The bright side is I will all day on the 18th to work on my swaps!

Hey Jen - I found more card fronts and have been working on more cards for you today.

Hey everyone - well, I'm waiting for my class attendees to arrive but this is the same group that were here last time my company announced layoffs. I'm going to have to stop inviting them unless it's a Saturday!

So yeah, no spoiler there, Micron just announced 15% reduction over the next two years. Morale was what we would call "bleh" today. On the upside, I have my interview on Monday for the mgr position. Makes me feel weird to apply for a promotion when everything is circling the drain in other areas of the company but maybe that's exactly why they need someone with my spirit to keep people engaged and keep the teamwork going. We'll see how it goes!

Yikes Stacy. I wish you the best with your interview and the swirling drain. If they need any references on your sunny disposition, just send them over to us!

Thanks Jen for the extra prayers for all of us.

Needless to say, I have not even started packing for our trip and we leave early Saturday morning. I do have all the paperwork printed and put our park tickets in my bag already so I don't forget those. But tomorrow will be busy with laundry, helping out in my DS's class and meeting who could turn out to be my future son. Not too much to stress about.

Whew, what a day! So much to catch up on and piano lessons all afternoon. Then my DD's senior info mtg at school tonight - cap and gown rental, senior announcements, i.e., money, money money!!!!

I've got my hostess group coming on Monday and we're doing Jackie Topa's stationary boxes. I'm trying to keep it all really simple, but it's still stressing me out!

Gotta pull it together.

Sleep would help. I think it's time.

g'night all!

Those stationery boxes hurt my head, but everyone says they are easy/doable . (I admit I haven't done anything but look at them...and they ~look~ difficult!)

I'm working on my last project for tomorrow's club meeting and planning some swaps....How many are in the SA swap? without the +1?

Sorry I'm not a great chatter lately....being behind on everything cramps my style!

Paula - Have a great day today! I'm sure we'll all being thinking about you. (PS thanks for the darling card! I've got to try that technique)

Stacy - Good luck with your interview on Monday! I'm sure you will "WOW" them!

Those Jackie Topa boxes are so cute. They look a little too complicated for me too!

I just finished my mid-terms and so I have a few days break from homework. It's going to be wet and maybe snowy here this weekend, which means I can stay inside and play with my stamps. Maybe even get my SA Christmas swaps finished

Ronda, you're up and at 'em pretty early this morning! Hope you can accomplish all you need to today.

Paula, just checking in to wish you well today.

Hope all you western stampers stay warm and dry this weekend. Looks pretty nasty!

Happy Friday to all!

18 + 1 if you want one of your own back, otherwise it's 18.
