I pack my stuff in outfits..washed some things over the weekend and put it in my suitcase so I don't dirty them before I leave...then I hid some new stuff on the bottom lol

i just freak out now, my bag was over the weight limit by 8 lbs once, and had to pay $50 to check it...some airlines charge $75 for over the weight bags.
For all of us flying, check your airline on how much it is to check your bags. Most airlines just upped their prices, and charge you both ways.
Laundry is at least in the washer. Have to pack most everything tonight, have a basketball game tomorrow night and then I leave Thurs after work for Milwaukee, stay over at a friends and fly out early Friday Morning

Yes, I have had to do the 'lighten the load' bag shuffle before... I fly Southwest whenever I can. You can still check 2 bags for free there. I hope I'll be ok...

you girls are making me feel like a...well lets just say i have no new undies, no new jammies and no nail polish (hoping i can at least file them before i go) - i DID dye my hair......
i have done pretty much um nothing yet. i did pack my meds as i forgot them last year and it was a pain to go get a refill so far from home. i hvae CONTEMPLATED the fact that i need to do laundry and i have pondered which suitcse i will bring up from the basement......
i DID make some nametags for me and my friend terri - we are big into the cricut MB nd there will be tons of us there so we are making name tags in cricut green to help us find each other.
As usual, I'm three steps behind everyone else.....just read the last page to "kinda" see what is happening....I live about an hour away and am stressing that I'll get lost in the parking lot (if I get that far!! I have NO sense of direction!!) I CAN'T WAIT for the weekend!!
Can only go on Sat (DANG IT!!) even tho I bought a ticket for Friday too (darn work thing is MESSING ME UP!!!!!) But I'm soooo excited to go and meet all the SCS Rock stars (geesh....hope I don't get stupid and just stare!! Got a problem with that shy thing too....IRL that is!! LOL)

Just wanted to say that I have friends here in the business that have to do this frequently...no names, just sayin' LOL
I've checked in & paid for my baggage. I'm with Pez in that I didn't buy new undies or jammies, I am going to paint my nails...but that will wait. I will pack right before I go to bed tonight and throw in the rest in the morning as I rush the 2 kids, hubby & myself out the door. If I forget something, I'm sure there's a place nearby to get it :-)

Big decision, big nice camera or little one that's easier to carry around. I mean, if I have the big camera, that's less I'll be able to buy as I won't be able to carry it all but the little camera takes crummy pictures. Hmmmm

Today I'll start the laundry, tomorrow, press and pack. Heading out in a bit for last minute stuff before the sky falls down at noon. It's supposed to be 24 - 30 hours of wild weather before setting down to sunny mid 60 degree days starting Saturday.
I'm just happy they don't weight passengers! They can criticize and charge me for the weight of my luggage but don't say anything about my big rear!

Still stressing over the snow situation in the mountains between Anaheim and my home. Supposed to have a real cold winter storm today, which looks to leave lots of snow on the mountain roads. Yesterday, the CHP had to start escorting traffic over the summit around noon...that's usually the first step to closing it. YIKES! May have to consider heading over to Hwy. 101 and down from there. That means at least an extra 3 - 4 hours drive time for us. :-(

All you brave souls ready for travel! My cousin keeps texting me the weather report and it is NOT good. Two Cali-twisters and a LOT of rain...I'm so spoiled it's freaking me out. Thunder is shaking my house and I keep saying...hey, at least it isn't snowing...but, but, but.... I need courage, right.

Nemorocks: I'm ready to travel, but goodness only knows if we'll make it over the Grapevine on Friday night. It's closed as of right now due to snow on the summit...might have to take 58 east, if Tehachapi doesn't get snowed in. We were supposed to have a gully-washer here today, but it barely sprinkled. You must be getting the brunt of it.
I've got everyone I know doing a reverse rain dance, hoping we can at least get on the other side of the hill by Friday night. The forecast for Saturday looks good, tho, so coming home shouldn't be as difficult.
Hang in there! At least we'll have enough water for our crops this year....

Good advise! I just checked and United charges $20 for the first bag each way. I am gonna try to just do a carry-on!!

When we lived in San Diego, I would drive home (Sonoma Cnty) and take 5 up and 101 back, and it wasn't too much longer (under 2 hours). Plus with this weather, its so much safer to take 101, there is no way I would want to go over the grapevine, you know its probably snowing up there. Plus taking the 101 is prettier, and more places to stop.

Oh Val! You were supposed to make me feel BETTER about the weather.... and it needs to be better by FRIDAY - EARLY! They've been cancelling flights from North Bend to San Fran (That's the flight Cami and I are taking) and flights from San Fran to Orange Co. I'm completely neurotic about bad weather travel and I'm starting to stress a little! The forecast looks a little better than it did yesterday but it still doesn't look too good. :confused:
I was supposed to drive down tomorrow (Thursday) but we're waiting until Friday. I may just go 101 to avoid the Grapevine. Will be playing it by ear! I'm wishing I had flown, now.....and I don't like to fly!

Save travels, my friend! My DD and I are leaving SLC tomorrow late afternoon and driving to Southern Utah. Will leave VERY early Saturday morning and drive in to Anaheim. Hoping all is well with the weather!! Does anyone know a reliable website to map your trip and check road conditions along the way? I've been looking all over but am only finding iffy results ...
I would check out all state's Dept. of Transportation sites...sometimes they will have telephone numbers you can call while driving for current updates. Safe travels to you, and I'll see you SOON!!!!
