Our next shoebox swap will be on Saturday, November 4, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Faith Fellowship Church, 4375 Ebenezer Road, Perry Hall, MD. This swap’s theme is Christmas or winter related cards.
There is room for 30 people to attend with each person bringing a shoebox swap for everyone to make and something to share for lunch. There is a $5 charge per person for the hall rental which will be collected from you when you arrive. We need to turn over the money that day to the church.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. Please also bring your own adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.
We'd like each person to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card. This will speed up the process and also not have someone bugging you while you are working on something else. We’d like everyone to have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
All cards or projects must be made using Stampin' Up stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can either be current or retired.
Please bring something to share for lunch. When you sign up for the swap, please also post what you’ll bring for lunch. We do not have use of an oven, so please do not bring anything to be baked or that needs to be heated up. Crock pots are welcome – it will be a good time of year for barbecue, meatballs, chili – hint hint!! There are refrigerators there we can use.
One new thing for this swap is that I’ll have 2 games for us to play. One is a quick and easy game, and the other one can be done throughout the day. Everyone needs to bring their SU catalog to do the games. The answers are in there.
There will be 7 door prizes throughout the day. And we will also be doing the card ministry drawings again (2 or 3 prizes), so bring your cards to donate. These can be old swap cards, card fronts, or even one of the cards you are doing for the swap. We collected 87 cards in August which was awesome. That really kept our card rack full.
To sum up what you’ll need to bring – a Christmas or winter themed shoebox swap, something to share for lunch, your SU catalog, and cards for the card ministry.
So start posting your RSVP’s and what you’ll share for lunch. Any questions, post them here or PM me. I’m hoping for a great turn out.

I'll be there and will bring meatballs. I'll also be bringing my friend Linda Macpherson, she's an SU! demo. I'll find out what she's going to bring and let you know.
Sure Marcia, this is open for any stampers. I'll add you three to my list. Please post what you will all bring for lunch too. Where do you live? Close to Perry Hall?
Thanks for including us in your swap! I'll bring cookies, and Cathy said she'll bring cheese and crackers. Haven't heard from Chara yet as to what she'll bring. Cathy and I live in Carroll County, and Chara in Towson, but we all know where Perry Hall is. Can't wait!
Thanks,
Marcia

Hi Cindy!! - If my counting is correct, it seems like there is still room for me to sign up for the Perry Hall shoe box event. It sounds like a fun event and looks like a great turnout. I will bring (at least) my chocolae chip dip and teddy grahams. I'll try to scare up something else as well but I'm beat after a doing a crop and a class this weekend...my brain is a bit spent!
Only room for 2 more ladies to sign up. If you are signed up and find out you can't make it, please post ASAP.
We do have room for more at the church, but I'm not sure how you all would feel if we went over 30. I'd leave that up to the majority of you. I'd say no more than 36 people, but in reality, would you all have time to do 36 cards in a "not rushed" fashion, have lunch, play games, and chat? I'm keeping it at 30 now, but if you all think you could do more cards in the time alloted and wouldn't mind cutting for 6 more people, I could up the count. Let me know your feelings.
Cindy, I vote to keep it at 30, it took us all the time alloted before to finish our cards, plus have lunch. Looking forward to it and trying to come up with a cute card. Donna
I've had a few gals PM me as well as the ones who posted here about the higher # attending. It seems like the majority says to keep the swap at 30. That's fine with me. Our shoebox swap is now full at 30 people.
If there are others interested, I could start a waiting list in case someone backs out.
I am so excited that so many of you are joining us. This is going to be such a fun day and here before ya know it. Start thinking about those Christmas/winter ideas.
We are set for breakfast, so there is no need for anyone to bring that. But if someone wants to bring coffee, coffee pot, etc. to fix, that would be fine. We can't use the church's stuff, so someone would need to bring the equipment, fixings, and styrofoam cups.
