Shoebox swap: We will be doing a shoebox swap in the morning & afternoon. Seems a lot of ladies like that idea. Prepare 2 completed shoebox swaps (one for your table & one for the hostess (thats me!) As soon as I know the totals I will post it. Keep in mind that shoeboxes should not be too intricate. They should only take about 10-15 mins each. We will be doing one in the morning & one in the afternoon.
Swaps: Choose at least one of the following swaps:
NVR Card front
SU Card front (current only please)
3x3 full card w/envelope
Bookmark or large tag
ATCs In post #22 I added 6x6 Recipe Swap.
Swap etiquette: I found some very good guidelines to keep in mind for your shoebox project.
1) Quality workThis is not about the quantity of layers or embellishments (please use at least one embellishment and two layers), or whether you are new at this or not. "Quality" means straight cuts with no crooked, fuzzy edges, tears, wrinkles, etc. (unless that is part of the design), attaching your layers straight (again, unless part of your design), stamping images clearly with fully inked stamps, etc. If you make a noticeable mistake while stamping your swaps, turn the cardstock over, or cover with another layer. Last of all, quality means to use cardstock that is a nice weight not some flimsy stuff that has the feel of construction paper.
2) The only swap requiring all current or retired Stampin' Up! products is the SU swap. All other swaps can use any quality stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. This is not the time to unload your cheap cardstock!
3) Would you like to receive your swap or make your shoebox project? Then it's PERFECT!
4) Please ask any questions you might have and someone will be sure to answer. We have all made a lot of great friends getting together at these gatherings so we hope youll join us at this one!
5) Show some pride and put your name on the back!!
Make n Take: If you would like to do a make n take please let me know. The more the merrier!
Garage sale: You may bring your stamps & stamping supplies to sell or even trade. I cant be responsible for missing things so remember to bring things at your own risk.
Other stuff: Please label your stamping items. Remember also the items you just cant stamp without: bone folder, your favorite adhesive, paper cutter/scorer, stamp cleaner and whatever else you can think of.
If there are any suggestions PLEASE let me know. This is my first Soiree so if I have forgotten anything.just give me a shout

For the SU swap, we can use both current and retired SU products? I thought it was only current, both it has both. I hope that is the case because the new book won't be out until July.

I thought it was usually current so demos could use them as samples.

Hi Diane,
having read further down the thread, Robin does say demo quality, so I guess it will have to wait until we get the retired list so we know what we can still use.
Pat
Pat, right now the only thing that has come to mind is how to figure out tables & morning & afternoon swaps.....you know.....how do you do it so you are not doing the same shoebox!!

we can just bring 2 different ones, 1 for morning and the other for afternoon.

The easiest way is that we make kits for everyone who is attending and spend all day making each shoebox...so we don't miss out on any! The shoebox can stay in one place and the people move or else all the shoeboxes are put on one table and we go get one to work on and then put it back on that one table when we finish that project.

If you go with everyone does ALL shoeboxes..... I vote to have the project stay and people move. That way tools and material tend to stay where they belong. Whatever you decide is fine with me.
If you want to do it like Tracy's....... I'd be happy to do the figuring AM and PM tables. Just say the word.
