NW Washington... the state, not the city
12th Annual Shoebox Swap for NW Washington and Lower BC (or for anyone beyond those borders who just loves to play with stamps) Date... Saturday, October 6 Time... 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 9:00 - 9:30 = arrival and coffee 9:30 we start crafting (don't be late) Place... Laurel Church(just north of Bellingham, WA) Registration fee... $10 ($5 for the church and $5 for the fun stuff) Prize for the favorite project!! |
Heres the Plan...
Design a card (or other project... ornament, box, bag, etc) Create 2 completed items (1 for a sample at the craft table and 1 to display for voting) Create 20 kits of your card. (number may be less-- depends on attendees) Put the kits in small bags or envelopes Put the bags in a shoebox or small basket. Using 20 make a kit for each of the gals attending. Be sure to print 20 copies of your instructions... one for each gal. You do not need to provide tape and glue for your project.... each swapper should bring her own. Your "shoebox" will be set at a marked space. Swappers will move from shoebox to shoebox. (Some people will finish faster than others, but there is plenty of space to work side by side when needed. Each of us will go home with 19 new projects.) What to bring... Your "shoebox" with... * the 20 kits * any "stuff" we will need to create your project * the 2 completed items * Your own "tool kit" to carry with you from table to table...tape, glue, pop-dots, scissors, pen, pencils et cetera. * If you have extra cards at home that you would like to donate to the church's card ministry, we would be delighted to have them. Sack Lunch This has worked well previously and no leftovers! Name Tag... Create your own name tag. Make it a piece of artwork that you can be proud to wear. Janitors request... No loose glitter. No embossing powder. Those things get in the carpet and stay for months. Stickles are fine. Watercolors and chalk are great. |

Newbie - on Whidbey Island
Is this for October 2018? If so, I think I'd like a spot and maybe two more for a couple of friends - I need to check with them & I'll let you know for sure.

posting my check today. Looking forward to this event :)
|
I’m interesting in attending Garnet & will confirm in September.
Spending the day with fellow stampers, getting new stamping ideas, and coming home with a nice selection of cards ready for mailing is a wonderful way to spend the day! Plus, Garnet adds a little added fun with her door prizes. |
Thank you Mary Ellen, Good "promotion" !
|
I seem to have lost track of a couple of names. Do any of you know TweedleTea??
|
Garnet,
Please add me to the list. It will be good to see my fellow stampers. I'll send you a money order soon. Take care! |
So... I have my card figured out. Now I just need to cut out all the pumpkins!
|
Just giving an update to say I plan to be there for part of it. I will need to leave by 11:30 but any projects I don't get done I'll take them to go:cool:.
Will get a check to you Garnet sometime this week. My project will have to be rather simple because I'm a bit short of time these days. |
Thank you, Julie. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Dear Garnet- thanks for hosting this event again this year! Can you give us a final count after September 15th so as to save making extra kits?
|
Decided to make 20 kits- just in case :)
|
Garnet, I won’t be able to attend. I have my monthly medical eye appointment the Friday before. Thank you

Does the eye appointment cause you a lot of problems? If it is only a matter of driving, someone could give you a ride. |
Tomorrow’s the big day! Getting excited! Pam helped me get the church ready. Next step is to make coffee before 9:00. See you.......

I found a Fiskars trimmer as we were cleaning up. It's about 5" x 12". It has a blue flower print. Maybe it belongs to Julia or Julie???
|
It's Diana's. She left a note at my front door.
