Shoebox Project Information:
This is the only mandatory part of the day which will take place first on our schedule.
WE HAVE DECIDED TO HAVE TWO DIFFERENT SHOWBOX GROUPS THIS YEAR. IT SEEMS THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WOULD PREFER TO DO EVERYONE ELSE’S SWAPS AND A SMALLER NUMBER OF PEOPLE PREFER TO STICK WITH A SMALL GROUP AT THEIR TABLE. IN AN EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT NOBODY FEELS OVERWHELMED, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A LARGE SHOWBOX GROUP WHO WILL DO EVERYBODY ELSE’S SWAPS IN THE LARGE GROUP AND A SMALL GROUP SHOEBOX WHERE YOU WILL JUST DO APPROX. 6-8 PROJETS WITH TABLEMATES. PLEASE NOTE ON YOUR REGISTRATION FORM WHICH GROUP YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE IN. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE DESIGNATED AREAS FOR EACH GROUP SO THERE IS NO CONFUSION.
**Please have your shoebox completely prepared and ready to go when you arrive for the gathering. Unfortunately, I have had complaints in past years of people not having their shoebox projects ready for their tablemates to work on, making this reminder necessary. If you don't arrive with a completed and ready to go shoebox project, your tablemates are not obligated to allow you to do the project they have prepared. Being prepared means having all of the elements of your pre planned project prepared and ready for your tablemates. Tossing a bunch of random supplies on the table and instructing people to "create whatever they would like" is not acceptable. Please be considerate of others and extend the courtesy of having your shoebox project ready when you arrive. Thanks!!**
*Your shoebox project can be anything stamped*
• If you are making a card, we will make FULL cards using at least one embellishment (ribbon, brads, buttons, etc).
• Quality CS is a MUST!
• Please have all card pieces pre-cut.
• Please bring stamps or other items for your project
• Please include instructions (aka: recipes), tips and any other important information.
• Please bring 6 extra completed shoe box projects. You will use one as your sample at your table, 3 for hostess gifts and 2 for door prizes. Several people commented in the past that they would like to bring a couple more prepared shoebox projects for door prizes, so this year we will have two complete sets of shoebox projects to use as door prizes.
• You may make other projects keeping in mind it should not take more than 10-12 minutes to complete.
Swaps:
Please follow the requirements below and if you are joining the SU only, please use only current SU products. We consider current SU product as product in any SU catalog that is current up until the date of the gathering. Please note that if you sign up for a swap and do not fulfill your commitment, you will not receive any swaps from the others in your group.
We will have 5 swaps:
1. Full Card Swap - SU only
2. Full Card Swap – NVR
3. Full Card Swap – NVR Masculine
4. 3D Item swap
5. Gift Card Holder swap
Swaps are not mandatory – you may participate in as few or as many as you would like. Please remember to showcase your best work using quality products. You must use at least two layers and one embellishment on each swap – thanks!!
Handmade Gift Exchange:
For those wishing to participate, please bring a handmade gift with a value of approx. $5.00. Your gift must be paper crafted in some way, please. Please be sure your gift is wrapped with your name so the person who receives it knows who to thank!!
Donations: I am in contact with the Monroe County Society for the protection and care of children regarding donating to their agency and am awaiting their response.
Hope to see you all at the gathering!
Lauri

Thanks to Ginny Stevens Chasefor being our Secret Sister Mama!!
We decided as a group that the minimum secret sister requirements are as follows:
-a card on her birthday -one card for each season (winter, spring, summer, fall) -a papercrafted gift with a $5 value at the reveal at next years gathering.
We want to keep it simple, so please feel free to do as much as you want, but above would be the minimum.
If you have a Secret Sister from last years gathering, please don't forget to bring her a paper crafted gift as stated above for our reveal!!

RE: DONATIONS
Sorry to be getting to this so late. We decided that we would donate supplies to Kathy Denny's daughters classrooms this year in memory of Kathy. I have asked for a wish list, however I'm sure that with so much going on with the loss of their Mom, that they may have forgotten and I don't want to hound them as they have so much on their plates right now. That being said, both Joy and Melisa are teachers, one teaches 1st grade and the other 6th grade, both in schools with high poverty levels. We will be collecting supplies for 1st and 6th graders at the gathering. 1st grade supplies are pretty easy to think of and as Evan is in 6th grade this year, some suggestions from his list are pencils, pens, folders, spiral notebooks, binders, compass and protractor, ruler, loose leaf paper, to name a few. I know this is short notice, so if you are unable to contribute, we completely understand. Thank you!
