I'm further out east on Long Island...
My neighbors (not so politely) call it the "crotch" between the two forks.
Unfortunately, we must not be a creative group out here because it seems I have to travel an hour east or west to join any group. I used to be a quilter and I would often drive to Peconic to attend quilters guild meetings--and went almost that far for primitive rug hooking. I know there's a scrapbooking store in Sayville I keep hearing about--they hold crop nights and workshops- but I haven't yet come across any avid stampers or stamping groups.
We have one SU rep (that I know of) in our area and I don't think there have been too many parties/workshops in this immediate area lately.
I've never actually been to a crop, since I'm not a scrapbooker. I would be interested to find out whats going on here on Long Island.
I'm between the North and South Shore. I know the Bayshore area a bit, as I grew up in Deer Park--not too far from there.
Please keep me posted about the upcoming events. If there is another site I should be checking, please let me know, as I don't want to hound you for information.
I am in the process of starting a new job, so it will be hectic for the next few weeks. I'll keep checking the boards.
TIA,
mishquilt
