Stacy, no theme, just SU products...
Tracy, yup - my birthday is the 24th...And, anytime works for me, for a lunch-date (just let me know ahead, so I don't work - mental health days are a goooood thing )...
Sorry, no-can-do the 23rd (thanks, though ). Will be going to Wisp for snow-tubing with the scouts.

Good morning!

Just got back from water aerobics. Trying to get back on schedule as far as exercise and dieting. It's so hard!

Cleaning and hopefully a some stamping and knitting today. Maybe I'll work on the challenge card.

Have a good one and keep warm!

okay I have an idea - since we are growing and having multiple birthday's each month - it can get quite expensive!!! What is everyones thoughts to going to altered presents? It will give us a chance to play with our supplies and we can put something inside.....If everyone likes this idea what $ amount do you think would be appropriate for the total gift?

If you do like the idea the first few recipients of my attempt at altering I am apologizing in advance LOL (it will be an original though LOL)

I think that's a great idea Stacy! It does get to be a bit expensive with multiple birthdays each month. And it would make me use my stuff and get creative (or try to anyway). Just my opinion but I'm thinking around $10 value?

Why don't we say $5-$10 so that way if we are thrifty shoppers we don't have to worry about being too cheap. Or is that just me??? hehe

Yeah I think this is a great idea. I always love to get handmade items from my friends and I think everyone else does to. I think $10 is a nice amount. Great idea!

Good for you Paula! Yes, it is definitely hard and I think it's much harder in the winter especially when it's this cold, all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a good book and comfort food! I wish it would warm up enough so I could take the dogs for a nice walk! The big dogs would probably be ok but I couldn't take the little ones out for long, their poor little tootsies would freeze!

I just some times feel like the "deal" makes my gift cheap and then I feel guilty. Silly I know. I always had a hard time with my family gift exchange when we would say $30 spending. I would get a $30 sweater for $15 and then get a shirt and socks to go with it. And if I still didn't get UP to $30 I felt bad, even though the VALUE was over $50, KWIM. I know I am silly.

Don't even get me started if there was a sale that was like a buy one get one That usually meant that I kept one for myself....and then I felt REALLY guilty. But who needs the same sweater in different colors?

I think the idea is great and in addition, I loved just getting together with everyone so there is no such thing as cheap. I think homemade items are wonderful and I am always at a loss as to what to get someone. I "think" I can make it on 23rd and will try to have something pulled together by then. I am not as clever as you all.....and like Stacy, I will apologize in advance for not being skilled!

No, not silly at all, I think a lot of us do that! But this past Christmas for my dh's family gift exchange I got a real bargain and didn't make up the difference with something else. We play that game where you can steal the other peoples gifts and the limit is $25. Well, I got a gorgeous, huge wood collage frame at Michaels that was priced at $40. They had a 50% off sale and I had a coupon for an extra 15% off your entire purchase. The frame ended up costing $16.99 + tax. Even though I didn't actually spend $25, my gift had a $40 value so I just went with it. My MIL ended up getting it and loved it and now she can put all her grandkids pics in it!

Yes it was, I am definitely trying that technique again soon - Jane is being modest, I am being honest hahahahahaha

I am working on that not padding thing anymore and just reveling in my luck of finding a good deal!

Stacy, you always have nice cards and I've been the recipient of at least one of your altered items, a very cute bucket which I use to keep some of my Copics in! So don't even go there!

ah but the cussing and paper that "attempted" to give its life to the bucket saw the whole bloody battle LOL BTW for altering for your first time NEVER choose rounded items like buckets with a wider opening at the top than bottom LOL I am thinking square right now hahahaha

Now to go throw some clothes in the washer...
Went to your blog to see your card and was able to see lots of them you made. Great cards ladies! I especially love the "Martha" one with me liking to spend time in the kitchen.

my only request is NO MEXICAN for lunch...

and I am all for doing the altered thing since I need to get rid of stuff that I won't have room to bring with me. of course that also means going down in to the frigid dungeon that is my craft room...

got a question.. anybody have a Keurig? John keeps mentioning that the BOQs all have them and I ALMOST bought him one for christmas..

I know the type I want( the one with the resevoir) but was wondering on where the best prices are...

I love mine...depends on the size/edition you want to get. Target always has decent prices on them. They go on sale at Macy's, too - so if you want a special edition (bigger/fancier one), you can get one there.

thinking the basic Elite model is fine to start. biggest want is the resevoir, but the other features are not must haves. (yet)

I only have like one cup on the weekends but LOVE the ability to make tea or hot cocoa too

will have to see if Kohls sells 'em.. My sister works for them so I could get her discount on top of any sales or coupons.

Checkk Bed Bath and Beyond, they usually have a 20% off coupon you can use. We got an espresso maker for a pre-Christmas gift and it too will accept the pods, so if he is an espresso drinker you may want to look into that too. I got ours at BJ's just a basic DeLonghi model but we are enjoying it, and it has already paid for itself. We were making a Starbucks run at least once or twice a week in the evenings and I would get a cuppa while I was grocery shopping too, it all adds up to be $$$$.

Kimme, glad you and DH enjoyed your date night and the girls were good for the sitter. I want to see that movie too and also Sherlock Holmes. DH wants to see Avatar, but I don't know if I can sit that long without having to pee. LOL

got a question.. anybody have a Keurig? John keeps mentioning that the BOQs all have them and I ALMOST bought him one for christmas..

I know the type I want( the one with the resevoir) but was wondering on where the best prices are...
We have a Keurig - the single serve one. Just had a hot cocoa not too long ago from it. I got ours at Kohl's. They always seem to have a good sale on them and the K-cups.

Isn't this container the same or very similar to what a manicurist puts nail polish remover in? If so, maybe you can find a cheaper one at a cosmetic store????

What an awesome Idea Cindy! I may have to check that out for the bottle.

Also I have seen Sherlock and Avatar and omg avatar was amazing!!!!! Sherlock was good but the eye candy had a bit to do with my favorable opinion LOL

Default Keurig

I love my Keurig, I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon. And I order my K-cups at amazon, they seem to have the best prices I have found so far.
