Kathi, how did Dusty handle last night's Thunderstorm? even Jago was weirded out for once. of course a few hit less than a mile from the house which made the windows rattle.

have a real exciting weekend planned: laundry and lots of it. Plus one of the Plebes is coming over to 'hide'.. he has a big paper due and needs someplace NOT campus to work on it. Also plan on making peanut butter cups and probably solids. I also have the fixin's for peppermint patties so might get started on those.

Taxes are finally done and mailed in. Thanks again Jeaneen for getting us squared away.

My wonderful kind and giving husband shared his sinus infection with me. Some things I wish he wouldn't share, you know?!. although today the sore throat is gone and I am actually getting rid of lots of plegm so I am hoping it subsides by Tuesday when we take off for NY.

Hope everybody has a good weekend...

I am making Advent Calendars with my GF on Monday. Since we are making a couple each I want to keep the price down a bit, KWIM.

Great to know about the tins at Ollies. I have been looking for them and the ones that they have at Bed Bath and Beyond are kind of expensive.

I am back from the doc. He says *just* bad cold! No swollen glands, lungs are clear, no signs of infection, strep test was negative. Yippee!!! He gave me some cough medicine, so DH can sleep better tonight - guess my coughing kept him awake a lot of last night...

Mary, do they give you an estimate of when your DSL will be fixed. Have you tried turning off your little tower thingy and back on? I know when I had trouble once with my Verizon connection thats what they told me to do to reset it. Candy at school also had trouble after a storm and they told her just about the same thing.
I have unplugged, reset, turned off, turned on and nothing works...the modem is still blinking at me!

Ahh, vampires...I still haven't seen the first one, yet!

Glad to hear the little one is ok!

Hi all,
Thanks for the good retirement wishes. A mixed bag of emotions, mostly revolving around health insurance. But it will all work out.
Hope you all are feeling better who are under the weather.
I got some $1 stamps at Michaels today that I really NEEDED. A couple different Merry Christmases, gingerbread man and a santa face by rubber stampede (Santa wasnt a $1 but was 30% off). The Fri after T'giving it has become a tradition that the g'kids come over and we do Christmas cards or other projects. Doing snowman soup as one this year. Maybe some ornaments. Im surprised they still want to do it now that they are teens, but even Ryan comes. So I am a happy camper.

Dusty was cool as a cucumber during the storm, but I don't think it was as bad here as it sounds like it was there. That is weird about Jago, I have never had a cat be bothered by storms.

Yea, my weekend is real exciting too! I've got to go grocery shopping for the Turkey and all the fixin's. Everyone is coming here for T-day and I don't have a thing bought or the house cleaned! Fortunately my DD is going to give me a hand with everything! Oh, yea and I've got laundry to do too!

Sorry you have a sinus infection, they are no fun at all! I hope you are feeling much better by the time you leave! Have a safe trip and a wonderful Turkey Day!

Oh, I am SO glad it's not more serious! As if a "bad cold" isn't bad enough! Hope both you and hubby get some sleep tonight! And hope you feel better soon!

Rose, that sounds like so much fun! I used to love "helping" my grandmother make cookies for Christmas when I was little! Brings back so many great memories! Your grandkids will always cherish those memories of spending time with you!

Cherie, New Moon rocks! It is so good and I can't wait to see it again. I went to the 2:50 show this afternoon as a treat to myself. Two weeks ago, I gave my notice at my job of 15 years since I got offered a job closer to home. That one hour one way commute on a good day was wearing on me a lot recently. So today was my last day. They had lunch for me and then let me go early, so I decided since I had cried at work, my tear ducts were ready for New Moon. LOL You guys are gonna love it!!

It's finally nice not to have to keep a secret any longer. It's been a rough couple of weeks. And for those that know about my grandmom, she's now in her new home and hopefully adjusting well. Mom will call up there tomorrow to see how she made out today/tonight. Mom said the transition went well, so that was good.

Sounds like a fun time with the grandkids. I am sure they treasure this time with you. Enjoy!

So happy Dusty was cool as a cucumber ! What a relief! We had a real doozy of a storm last night. Major thunder several times in the night.

Good luck with the turkey prep!

Anyone have any ideas where I may find some 24 count mini muffin tins for CHEAP? I'm going to check Big Lots, but any other ideas?
How did your adventure to the doc go? Hopefully better than expected!

No leads on your muffin pans...sorry! Good luck in finding them!

Wow Cindy, what a big day! Congrats on your new job and shorter commute! Glad you got to see the movie!

So glad the initial transition went well. I know that must make the move so much easier on your grandmom and mom. Hope it continues...

Doc wasn't as bad this time as it was last time, the nurse left the door opened which I think helped and she let her sit on my lap for the shots too. There was little physical interaction between she and the nurse so it was as good a scenario as could be. There was still a good bit of crying but no hyperventilating

I searched several places today to no avail.

Wow Cindy, you have had a lot going on. Long commutes get old after a while, and I'm sure that the traffic has gotten worse and worse over the years. Hope you enjoy the new job.

Also, glad that your grandmother is adjusting well. It has to put your heart at easy knowing that she is safe and well taken care of and that your parents can breath a bit easier as well.

Good to hear the doctor's visit was a bit better. Good luck finding your muffin tins. If I see any in my travels, I'll let ya know.

What I'm really gonna enjoy right now is having next week off. I need the week to regroup and just veg and enjoy the holiday. My brother is coming up too, so it will be nice to hang out with him without his wife and kids around. They aren't coming up, since he and Dad will be going hunting the day after turkey day. I haven't had a day with just my brother in forever.

You are so right on the traffic. Too much traffic and a lot of stupid drivers. I felt like I needed eyes all over my head. I definitely won't miss that.

Mom and Dad can get their first good night's sleep in a long time tonight. It's been a rough 3 years for them.
