Is anybody here a Vera Bradley fan? I got the Daisy Daisy Villager Bag from my MIL for Christmas and it is just not my thing. The Hubs thought I could use it to tote stamps for crops, until I told him how expensive they were. So I am offering it out to all of you before listing it on eBay.

Off to lunch with a former co-worker and then home to strip beds. The final company came through and is now gone. Then to design a card and get ready for a card swap I am going to on the 9th. This week will be taking down decorations, deciding what stays and what goes and clearing up before getting back to work. I do hope to keep that lazy gene at bay Rose, because I also have it! My DH lost my keys...............to everything...of course he is in denial saying maybe it wasn't him. Now, he moved my car out into the rain to "wash the salt off" and the keys have not been seen since. How is that not him? He has a hard time accepting the responisibility but then, he has a memery gene missing too! ROFL! He would not appreciate my humor right now. He has made himself crazy over those keys. Oh well, I can understand now that all my lost items from this fall have safely found me again. Keep smiling all and have a wonderful day. Stress is such a bad thing for our memory, isn't it?

Lucky you! I still need to get mine done!

I was supposed to go back to work today but Sammy needs to get to the vet asap. He's got several hot spots and just keeps digging and chewing on himself till he's raw. I've tried everything over the weekend to get them under control to no avail so he's going to the vet this afternoon. Poor thing, he's my basket case doggie!

Whew! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a lazy gene! And Jane, my hubby is missing that memory gene too, he will swear he's not the one who either lost something, said something, etc. and in the end it always turns out it WAS him! LOL Oh well, I guess since we're all a little older now we are entitled to some missing genes!

I think my Hubs inherited the deafness gene. The girls will be right next to him and say something and he doesn't "hear" them. I think he has just tuned out all female voices. Half the stuff I say to him, I know he doesn't really hear. If he says "Ok" you can bet that there will be an argument later with him saying I never told him that. Ummm I did and you said "OK!!!"

Hey Kimmee; They are all this way (men)

DO what I do, not only tell them but put a sticky note some where they'll see it, by their computer, toilet seat mirror, whatever works, then they can't say they didn't know or you didn't tell him.

MY dh just noticed the SBS post it by the computer, "oh you didn't tell me", well, baby cakes, yes I did and there is the proof!

Wish us luck! DH is going to replace some plumbing parts to our shower - we have a leak. He has been watching U Tube videos this morning and thinks he is ready to tackle the job. He has his shopping list of tools and will be heading off to the plumbing supply store to get everything he thinks he *needs* to do the deed. When he returns, he will turn off the water to the house (no cut off to just the shower) and get to work.

I wish you MAJOR luck! DH replaced our sink and vanity in the powder room this summer, now we occasionally get leaks in the basement. Thankfully it is above the washer and dryer in the unfinished area so it's not doing any damage.

Thanks Kimme and Amanda! He filled the bathtub, so if we need water to flush, we can bail...He has also filled several gallon containers (the ones we bought last week when we had the water main break), so we will have drinking/cooking water. Hopefully the job goes smoothly and we won't come knocking on your door for showers tonight, Amanda!

well, the water is off, the handles and stems have been removed, BUT the next part that is to be removed DOES NOT look like any in the U Tube videos...So he is now searching U Tube for more videos to find something that looks like what we have. I may be rethinking that shower offer, Amanda...

Oh no! Hope he finds the correct video. The shower is open anytime you need it.

Jeaneen, good luck! I hate to have L try plumbing and he hates doing it. It is so much less stressful to call the plummer! I hope youd DH can work it out. You still have company, right? That could be rough.

Well, DH is on his way back from one plumbing store where they do not stock what we need, but did give him a referral to another store (that closes at 4). So he will come home and reinstall the broken parts and hope that they will hold until morning when he can go back out...otherwise it *may* be real interesting!

We still have two kids and a dog here. The other two went to PA for several days and will be back for the weekend, before they (and the dog) depart for NC.

Oh, joy! Think I will just go stamp - but I better not make a mess since I can't wash up!

You definitely need some stamp time! You have had enough trauma this past two months to last a year.

Jeaneen - my heart sunk when I read your plumbing email! I remember those days from when I was married. Uh oh.... Good luck!
Loretta - I cant believe they misspelled stamper. Is it stumper? What a pain and inconvenience.
I still have no idea for a card and havent done the post Christmas card either! I did make a little, very little, dent in the hoarder's den.

We're back from Lowe's. We bought some supplies and did a 'band-aid' repair to the shower until DH can get the one official part necessary (that Lowe's didn't have - they did have most of the necessary parts, thankfully!) at the plumbing supply store tomorrow. We have running water throughout the house and I can even use the shower! Yippee!!! We stopped for a quick dinner at Ruby Tuesday's - had to get some strength before tackling the plumbing job, huh? I *got* to serve as DH's assistant! What a team!

Jeaneen, I'm just now reading this. My dh is a plumber so if your dh gets into any problems Dean would be happy to talk to him and can give some advice. Of course he'll be at work tomorrow but will be home in the evening. Good luck!

Good Morning! What's everyone up to today? Not much going on here I was going to shop today but the cold wind may keep me home.

Good morning!

Did any one else loose power last night. It was so windy the sled and two snow shovels had danced across the enclosed porch and blocked the stairs.

I will be working on laundry today and my swap card.

Hugs,

Rose,

The MVA was interesting.

First off I told the lady at the check in counter (where the line was half way down the mva) that I had a vanity tag with a mis-spelled name, she didn't blink and gave me a misc. number ( I didn't have to stand in line).

So, I turned in the old stauper tag and had to get a second number to re-load the current registration into the computer. Fearing that my number had not been transfered I went to the supervisor station, she was like, 'You should have come to me in the beginning', and put in the correction. I had to go (now to the fifth) station to get the registration re-loaded into the computer so I can leagally drive my car in Maryland. It only took 3 1/2 hours in the mva that was only about 95* inside. No lies, I was melting.

I mean really when you reach 45 years old, some things like oh say hot flashes aren't pretty. I kept thinking I wish I had a bra on so I wouldn't get arrested for indecent exposer. (LOL).

Now to wait again, the people who issue the vanity tags are to do the correction and I should have the correct tags in about 3 weeks. I'm not holding my breath!

I hope you guys are doing well. Verizon fixed my tv's color problem (all the people where green) and will come out to see if they can fix my stereo problem, as of now I don't care if it costs me, I just want it fixed.

Have a great day, off to start my SBS, I've decided on a Valentine goodie of some kind, just need to flush my idea into fruition.

Stamping hugs,

Looks like the plumbing saga is over and FIXED! Thanks for your support! Kathi, I appreciate the offer of your DH's assistance, but it looks like DH was able to do the job with a little input from the plumbing supply store guy. BUT, DH said it is good to know of a plumber we might be able to call for future issues!

Loretta, sorry about your long journey at the MVA. It's never a quick visit there... I will be going next month to renew my disabled permit and can hardly wait!

umm, what was I going to type here?

Oh I know, DH is driving me nuts, already worried about 2009 tax time, and he can't find our 2009 returns on the computer, I'm not 100% sure I know where a copy is (that ain't good, but can't you order an old return directly from the IRS?).

I still haven't accomplished anyting of meaning, I did attempt to make a pin cusion using material and the top note die, it is cute but my sewing abilities actually need some help!

Have a great afternoon!

Hi girls! Finally, a moment to breathe! Work has been crazy. And DH surprised me with part of my Christmas present being the weekend away to National Harbor near DC. We stayed in the Gaylord National Resort and went to their ice sculpture show. I felt like a queen since we normally go on vacation in a tent. LOL

Glad to read that everyone had a good Christmas and that Jeaneen's DH fixed the plumbing issue. I'm always the gopher when DH needs something. What a fun job - not! LOL Kathi, hope Sammy is okay too.

Yes, you can, but it will cost you - maybe $45. Not sure. But you can order a transcript for free. If you have a fax, they may be able to send it right away. Call 1-800-829-1040 and wade through the many menues and nice music...
