Stacy, the synopsis for the past two months:
Stamped, didn't get to stamp, may get to stamp, need stamps, want to stamp, haven't had time yet to stamp, behind on everything holiday, stamped, tired, need paper......etc etc. etc.
Does that catch you up? Jeaneen, you have had a rough run of luck. I hope it gets better.
Rose, how goes being retired??????? Wish it was me. Not yet though. Maybe in a year? We'll see.

morning all. I lost my message! ARGH.
Jane, retirement is ok. Got caught up in the Christmas rush stuff. House is still filthy. Oh well, I will have time now after Christmas to get it spic and span.
Kathi - Photos are separated because I started scrapbooking, got as far as separating the old photos. That was 8 or 9 years ago I guess.
Anyone have any ideas for wrapping a big bean bag chair? I bought one for my g'daughter. I ended up wrapping it in a Christmas tablecloth! It is huge and looks kinda scarey - this huge lump of gold tablecloth sitting ther looking like the hulk ready to spring! Any other ideas?

That's like the best idea ever. DS got one a couple years back and I just put a bow on it. So your way more creative than I am.

Congratulations Gloria!!! Looking forward to your challenge for us! Now that Xmas is almost here maybe I'll be able to play after this weekend! I have to work 3 days next week but am off after that until Jan. 4 and should finally have some "me" time to stamp!

My carpets are finally done and boy do they look good! Stanley Steemer was here by 1:00 and they did a fabulous job! My carpets look new again and the house smells so fresh! I highly recommend them! Now just have to clean the bathroom and wash the kitchen floor and my cleaning is done!

Well, I'm finishing up laundry and waiting for the UPS guy to bring 2 last minute Amazon orders. I still need to clean the bathroom and scrub the kitchen floor. Tomorrow I'll bake the ham and make the potato salad and any last minute pickup/cleaning jobs that need to be done...

With all this time off from school, I thought I'd have some stamping time- THAT just hasn't happened, yet! But at least I have all the week after Christmas to catch up!

Can't wait to hear what Gloria's challenge for us will be!!

Our water is finally clear! So all that have offered help and use of your shower - you are off the hook! Many thanks though...

Well, now that I have clear water, guess I have to scrub floors, do dishes and laundry...

I had a doc appt this morning. DH took me and then we stopped at Bob Evans for breakfast on our way home - a nice treat for just the two of us! We have gotten used to it being just us here at the house and having a house full is quite the adjustment, but a fun change!

Just found out that when DD and SIL go to his parents after Christmas, they are leaving the dog here for the week. DH is thrilled!

jeaneen, glad your water is back. Too bad about cleaning the floors tho!
Gloria - congrats on your beautiful card. It really is beautiful.
I finished my last minute errands and have done nothing since I got home except sit here on this computer and get soooo frustrated w/it being so slow. Im not even looking at the nice e cards people are sending cause its too frustrating. After Christmas Im hoping my son will have time to look at it, if not I'll call Geeks R Us or whoever.

First off CONGRATS GLORIA! I loved your beautiful card!

Basically the answer to your question is yes.

1. Come up with the challenge idea, if you got it from a sketch or here on SCS post the link and or picture.
2. Come up with the rules, how many layers what theme, etc.,
3. Post a deadline for cards and when voting will stop/and when you will announce the next winner.

Have fun! Its gonna be fun!

Hugs,

Default Congrats

Gloria, first, you must tell me where you got the die for that beautiful background. It was a wonderful card. Second, you can come up with a challenge, any challenge, colors or theme or clean and simple or anything your heart desires. You decide when you want the challenge done and remember, it's the holiday.....give some time! Then everyone pm's you two votes if they did the challenge or one vote if they didn't get to it. Voila! Done.
Jeaneen, company is like fish, fun for a few days but then it starts to stink....oh, wait, they can shower now! I'm glad the water issue is cleared up and the holiday can proceed without trauma. Hope all went well at the doctor.
Amanda, create. You are so good at it! Rose, don't worry about cleaning. That is one reason our vision gets worse as we get older, so we don't see it as easily! I am glad retirement is becoming a good fit for you.
I finished my shopping today and just need to piddle and puddle around and get stuff ready from dinner Friday! Merry Christmas to all and to all..........I hope you are having some fun. Stacy, did my synopsis catch you up? Sara, are you out there?

Question of the Day:

What is your favorite holiday TV show/movie?

My all-time favorite holiday TV show is Nestor, the Long-Eared Donkey...they don't seem to play that on TV anymore, but thankfully DS gave it to me for Christmas on VHS years ago, so I can still watch it.

My all-time favorite holiday movie is The Night They Saved Christmas. It's a cheesy made-for-TV movie with Jaclyn Smith and Art Carney as Santa Claus. I just love it...again, they don't play it on TV anymore, but I have the tape. I watched it yesterday afternoon when I should have been cleaning!

I also love an old movie called It Came Upon A Midnight Clear with Mickey Rooney. Again, not on TV anymore and I can't find it anywhere on VHS or DVD. I'll just have to keep trying...oh, and I love the 1950's version of Scrooge with Alastair Sim as Scrooge. I DO have that on DVD! I always watch that Christmas Eve while I'm waiting for Santa to come.

Finally!! The gifts are all wrapped. I am not cleaning the house. Just gonna pick up and dust. If it rains Friday, what will be the use. All for nothing. Hows that for an attitude. I think for the challenge I would like to do a Flip-Flop Card. I have never done one before and always thought I would like to. Here is a link to the tutorial here on Splitcoast.

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...lip_flop_card/

How about the date being January 18th. And voting being done by the 21st. Does that sound good to everyone? Have a wonderful Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year.

Okay Gloria, that looks tough but I will see if I can do it. What Die Cut did you use on your card and/or where did you get it???? Good challenge, by the way. And I totally agree with you about the mess the holiday brings!

Is A Christmas Story the one with the BB Gun? And the tongue on the pole?

OH, NOOOOOOO....I just emptied my Scentsy warmer tray to change scents. Then I spilled the container with liquid wax - all over too many things - my dresser, the rug, the set of cards I made for my mom for Christmas, a package I need to deliver, a basket and who knows what else! I am so mad with me right now! Of course the melted wax is deep red and will stain everything...I am crying! Better walk away, breath deeply, pour a diet coke and come back to clean up when it solidifies...

Sounds like the two of you could use a nice martini! We should go out one evening and all have a mrtinit night. Of course, I could only drink one, but what the heck.....it might be fun!

Oh, NO!! Man, when it rains, it pours, huh?? What makes you think you have a CO2 issue? The smoke detector wouldn't pick up on that unless you have a CO2 detector.

Jeaneen - hope your accident proves to be not as serious as you first thought. I'd be crying too!
Amanda - did you get your heat/hot water fixed?? Hope so, its getting colder.
Im still wrapping, sigh..... I can just hear my son "How many families are coming" cause I have too much stuff for the kids. I do a little less each year, but it doesnt show.
OK, back to the wrapping. Some day I will get out cards. Some day I will make some cards. Have a good evening everyone.

Hi Jane, The background I used is a brass stencil. Sorry I can't remember where I bought it. It is a Marianne Design stencil, if that helps. I think I just put that name in the search engine and it came up. I cut out sections of it and popped it up on foam dots.

I love the move A Christmas Story. It makes me giggle it's very much my p/rents. I do love the movie Elf as well. He is such a big goone.
I guess I would say that my favorite movie would be any of the Chevy Chase movies. They crack me up. Of course A Christmas Story is right up there too.

I got a good chuckle out of your discription of the chair wrapping. P.S. Now that you are retired, don't think you will ever get caught up on housework. lol And if you do, let me know how you do it.

Oh Jeaneen, I'm so sorry! Maybe once it solidifies it will just peel off and not ruin anything. I sure hope that is the last of the bad luck!
