Thanks to those who made the trek out here today. I had a great time and the girls were asking when mommy's friends will be back again. After you all left the short ones finished off the spinach dip, so that was dinner, and now they are watching the second Pirates movie with Daddy and had popcorn, thanks Tracy

Jane, let me know when you are available and I can host again I will be a single mother though pretty much now through May, so you will likely get all sorts of treasures from Mackenzie. She is quite the little card maker.

Default "grandpa" -- some not so right humor!

Grandpa was reminiscing the other day::::::::

"When I were a lad, Momma would send me down to da corner store wid a
dolla', an' I'd come back wiv five pounds o' potatoes, two loaves o'
bread, three pints o' milk, a pound o' cheese, a packet o' tea, an' 'alf
a dozen eggs. Ya can't do dat no mo'.

Too many damm security cameras."

I didn't say it was right, I just said it was funny.

---- Heading home tomorrow it will be a long wet drive! I have some new magazines to read on the trip home and got a really fun text picture from Craig. Apparently they had a flight Christmas party and he had his picture taken with santa... ummm he is 21 !

I look forward to seeing most of you on Saturday!

Hugs to all, keep us in your prayers for safe travel!

mornin all.
Cindy = glad you got to hve a good visit w/your grandmother. You're so luck to have had her all these years.
Loretta - hope you had a safe trip home.
Amanda and Loretta and Tracey == when am I going to see the cards you all got published?
All - Have a good day. I still dont have any decorations up, still have a dirty house, still dont have the china cabinets back together, BUT I did have fun making a gingerbread house at my daughters last night. Only 5 of us this year but it was fun. Of course mine was the most garish -- Michelle says I just dont get the "less is more" concept. I try to pile on as much as I can cause the guys at work eat it.
BTW - Toby looks lovely. Kathi I think I need to get to Petsmart too. He needs a new collar as well as I havent gotten stuff for his stocking yet.

Kimme, sound like your gathering was a lot of fun, sorry to have missed it. I'll be a single mommy too for Jan/Feb. What fun.

I would take you up on that, but since Maggie they are scared to death of dogs, especially small dogs. They totally freak out over the neighbor's Puggle. Nobody gave them the memo that big dogs are scarier then small ones.

Loretta, I will remember that. I didn't realized you lived that far away. That would have been great. Thanks for the invite.

After all the comments about the Tag night, I really wish I could have gone. It sounds like everyone had a great time. I would love to see some of the tags that you all made. Did anyone post them on their site or blog?

Rain, rain, PLEASE go away!!! It's so dark and dreary...the tree still isn't decorated. I've been catching up on laundry this morning...I need to go to the grocery store, but I hate to do it in the rain...maybe I'll go tomorrow instead.

Yes, is anyone posting their tags on their blog? I'd love to see them, too!!

I'll only be on dial-up for a couple more days...woo hoo!! Can't wait to get my highspeed back again!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

GO RAVENS!

We are finally home. We left Augusta about 7:00 this morning and arrived home about 4:15 this afternoon. I'm so glad that Mike did the lion's share (I didn't drive at all) home. It was raining and misty, foggy all the way. Pretty miserable.

I took two naps and read magazines. Umm, I think I"m spoiled!

I'll bring my copy of the magazine with, it was here when I got home along with four of the nine dies I recently ordered! I hope the next order arrives soon!

Stay warm and dry!

Good evening girls! Been working on Christmas cards and also Christmas tags for the candy canes we give out while caroling with church. I have to make 100 Jesus is the Reason for the Season tags - I have the paper cut, now to get them stamped for Wednesday night, so we can tie them to the candy canes. We'll put the candy cane upside down to form a "J". Caroling is Sunday night which I'm hoping is dry and a tad warmer than we are having right now. I even did a little bit of Christmas shopping at Kohl's tonight after the rain stopped. DH spent most of the day in bed with a terrible cold.

Morning!

Its off to the races for me.

I need to put away my booty from shopping in Augusta and a nice package from a friend for my Birthday/Christmas.

Washing Craig's linens and getting his room straight enough for him to sleep in not to mention my laundry list of chores to finish!

Hang in there stay warm!

Hugs!

Default Christmas Tags!

Here are the Christmas tags we made at Tracy's last Wednesday.

I love them all. It was so terrific, she had everything done for us, all the pieces cut. All we had to do was reach in a bag and stamp and do some punching or embossing.

It was a fun night, and I hope (hint hint) she posts a recipe for (killing the spelling) wassil (hot cider like beverage) for the rest of us. It was so delicious!

I'm gonna kill my young airman, he apparently needs to have one more block (his PT test) checked off before getting on a plane. Not sure if he'll get home tonight or not, pretty disappointed right now.

Hugs,

my trials continue. can't get a straight answer( or rather ANY answer at all) out of the one person who knows the truth of the matter with regards to my having to be on EFMP for the Navy. Army regs say I do, my Doctor says it's an enrollable condition, but nobody seems to be able to get an the skinny on what the Navy regs are specifically for Okinawa/

so we are proceeding as if I gotta do it just in case.

Did get my anti terrorism briefing done. Huzzah.

In the meantime, I am transferring all our music CDs to a case. I will have many empty CD cases left over. I am keeping a couple to store my Nesties in.. anybody want the leftovers? don't know yet how many I will have, but if you want some just PM me with a requested number and I will do my best.

John bought me some more candy molds so hopefully I can finish that up tomorrow or Wednesday. it was no fun making one tray of peppermint patties at a time.

Wow, you've been busy! Great idea to use the candy canes turned upside down for Jesus! I haven't gone caroling in many, many years but I remember how much fun we had doing it when I was in my church youth group. Hope you have dry and not too cold weather for it!

The tags are awesome! I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it! Maybe she'll have one next year (hint, hint) and I'll be able to go!

Hope Craig makes it home soon!

Sorry they are putting you through so much DM! Anti-terrorism briefing, sounds too scary for me!

Anyone know where I can buy some essential oils? Do I have to go to a health food store to get them?

I've been home all day with a bad case of tummy troubles, started in the middle of the night so I didn't get much sleep. Was finally able to go back to bed this morning and have only been up a little while. With everything I've got to do yet this was definitely one thing I didn't need! Gonna try to finish up some laundry and get the rest of my cards finished so I can mail the second batch tomorrow.

Are you talking about for outside of the body or inside? If you are talking outside I know Bath and Body works and The Body Shop sell them for rubbing on for headache relief and things like that.

Hope you start to feel better.

Loretta, glad you made it back safe. Cute goody bag. I hope (wink, wink) to see the recipe of the 'wassil' (sp??) too.

Woohhoo Finished the shopping last night. Now it's just impulse shopping from here on out, lol. We also have a call in to "Roxie's Fund" about a shepard/beagle mix. She cute as pie. Hope they will overlook their non-military adoption rule. It would make my oldest scream to find her under the tree.

*Anti-terror, sounds like a blast..not.

**You can usually find essential oils at The Body Shop or a health food.

Ta-Ta for now.

Hugs,

Sorry I forgot about that. Here are the ingredience for the Wassail.

2 quarts apple cider
2 cups orange juice
1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice 2 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1/2 cup honey

I just throw it all in the crockpot and let it simmer all day or over night. I made it without the honey and since I was out of the whole cloves I used ground and I always slice oranges to float in it, so as you can tell it's one of those recipes that you really can do almost anything and it works.

Hope Craig makes it home soon!
Maybe, I'll have a Christmas in July so we can start earlier so we don't have all this last minute running around.
