Seventy years, really?? WOW!
When J and I first met we made a deal, we wouldn't stay together forever, only 70 years. We met the week before his 21st B-day, so his 91st B-day present will be a divorce. When we are driving each other nuts it helps to know that there is an out ;)
That is so sweet DM. If DH and I have 25 years we'll be lucky. That is what you get for marrying later in life! But -- I wouldn't trade him for anyone else!
Glitterbee gifts are done, now to get them postal.

LOL that is funny! Only 70 years it's nothing you can do it!
We should all be so lucky to live 70 years.

My former MIL and all the female members of the family live well into their late 90's and early 100's. Margaret is now in her mid 80's and still does cruises, social events and is a total clothes hog. I think she has gotten very lonely since her husband passed on after more than 60 years of marriage. She has some health problems, but I hope I do that well when I'm old!
Always something to be said for good living, God believing folks! God bless them all and us as well!
DM - what a heartwarming story. Love reading about happiness and they even look happy together in the photo. 70 years! I cant imagine.
Im so jealous of anyone who has family generations left. I am the matriarch in my family. Nobody listens to me tho even tho I told them they have to!
JANE - the hair salon I go to "Hair at Michaels" on Rte 1 at the Duron Plaza, across from Laurel Lakes. Please dont judge his ability my thinning babyfine hair. It would be even worse if he didnt do it. AND sometimes he brings his adorable dogs to the shop.
We laugh at my parents and say they are just both stubborn. The women in mt mom's family all outlasted the men and lived into their 90's. My dad's side the men out lived the women....so at this point it is a battle of wills. Although, my dad is the patriarch of his family now, and my mom still has an older sister and an AUNT alive. Remember, my parents are 83, so that's pretty darn good.

Hugs,
Let's see... DH and I got married when I was 49 so if we make 25 years I'll be 74 and he'll be 72, I think we might be able to make that if I don't murder him first!
My Mom is 82, still lives by herself and is very active and her mother lived to be 92 and did not seem that old at all when she passed away. All her brothers and sisters lived well into their 90's, with some of them in the late 90's, so if DH behaves himself we could stay married for 50 years if I inherited all those good genes from my mother's side!
I wanted to thank everyone for the cards, and also give you a quick update as to what has been happening. Last Monday we saw the Oncologist and as of now they really can't do anything till the tumor is out and they are able to see what the core and other tissues look like.
Surgery has been scheduled for Tuesday April 6th, at around 8:00 am....I am to arrive at 6:00 am. I will be in the hospitial for about a week, then I'll be off another 2-3 weeks at home recovering.
We are so thankful for everyone standing with us!!
Blessings,
Jen
Jen - you will definitely be in my thoughts and i hope you have the best of news after the surgery! Definitely keep us posted
Good Morning Everyone! I've been up since the crack of dawn, had to have Sammy to the PG County Animal Shelter at 6:30 this morning for his long overdue neutering. My vet wanted way too much money so since I had already paid for it as part of his adoption fee I figured I'd let them do it. They were threatening me with a fine if I didn't get it done as it's part of the contract you sign when you adopt from them. The bad part is that I can't pick him up until 7:00 tonight so it's gonna be a VERY long day! I figure by this afternoon Sharon is going to find me slumped over my desk sound asleep!
Good Morning! The snow is almost gone. I told the girls that maybe by Monday they will be able to play outside in the yard. I hope this swamp land dries out soon.
...sitting here at work with the windows open...it's SO nice...now if only the sun would come out and stay out! Guess we're in for lots of rain- Foot's Forecast says 3-4" of rain between now and Sunday.
Well, rainy days always make good stamping days!
Have a great day!
Well, we need a good heavy rain to get rid of all the gray gook from the snow. But it can down pour for about an hour and then be done and I would be happy with that. We need to DRY OUT.

I worry about the ground being so saturated from all the snow that alot of rain will cause trees to fall...hopefully not...luckily, we got rid of all the big leaning trees we had in our yard.
Well we got really bad news about Marley today. Last night she started getting sick and still at it today so DH took her to the vet and the x-ray showed she ate something non-food like. They gave her meds to help it pass but if it doesn't Marley will be put to sleep tomorrow. Why do these things happen after I get attached to them? The vet said we could do surgery but her being so little and under weight it's a big gamble. I'm not sure I want her to suffer.... I'm at a loss not sure what to do really. Evan is going to be heart broken for sure.

Amanda ((((hugs)))) so sorry about Marley.
You may want to try our home made remedy for a pet that has eaten (lexie and she tried to eat our couch) try a tea spoon of some kind of laxative (citracal) and equal amouts of vaseline and put it in her mouth. Works like a charm. Baby enema's also work. Lexie was about 3# at the time we had to use it, and it worked.
I hope she recovers and goes -- well you know!
Hi everyone, busy day, trying to clean up before heading out to Rose's B'day celebration!
Amanda, I am so sorry to hear about Marley. Hopefully she will pass it. My daughters dog ate the eyes off a huge stuffed frog one time. They thought they were going to have to operate but she passed it. Thank goodness.
Amanda, I hope Marley makes it. It is not hard to get attached so quickly is it? Keep us posted. I'd try Loretta's sugestion if nothing else works. Worth a try. Good luck to the little sweetie.
Amanda sending good thoughts to Marley & hope everything works out.

My friend's cat ate a nickel...she had to have surgery to remove it...several thousand dollars later...her name (the cat) is Katrina. My friend had gone to New Orleans to help after the hurricane (she's a counselor) and found this cat roaming around so she adopted her and brought her home...then found out she was pregnant! Anyway, the vet gave her the nickel- you'd never know it was a nickel as it had started to be eaten away!
Sorry to hear about little Marley. It's always tough to have to lose a pet...DS had to have his kitten put to sleep- she was only about 4 months old. She had FIP. He and that cat had developed such a bond...he was devastated! Even if you do have to have her put to sleep she was very lucky to have a wonderful family to love her for her short time...i

Oh Amanda, I truly hope she will be able to pass whatever it is and will go on to become a fat, happy kitty. If you could have seen the stuff that Rusty ate when he was young, it's a wonder he lived to be 10! Animals eat the darndest things. I am going to pray really hard that all will be ok. It sure doesn't take long to get attached to them does it? Please keep us posted and if you need a shoulder I'm always here.

You are so lucky that you get to open your windows! I would love to be able to open the windows in my office and hear the birds singing and feel the nice spring air!

See some of you later!
Rose, I hope you have a great birthday celebration! I'm sorry I can't join you tonight. I'll be leaving here in a little bit to go pick up Sammy, I'm sure he thinks his mommy abandoned him back to the shelter. It about broke my heart to leave him there this morning.
Nothing new to report just yet. She has been sleeping all day. I did get some of her laxatone in her and took Stacy's advice and use a dropper to get some water into her. She hasn't gotten sick anymore hope that a good sign.

If I am able to get out of bed tomorrow it will be a miracle. I played outside with James (2 years) all morning long. Right now everything on me hurts. I thought it was bad after yesterdays play day but two days in a row has done me in.

Gloria, take a nice hot soak in the tub, that might help those sore muscles!

I'd take that as a positive sign! But I'll still keep praying!
Amanda, how is Marley doing. Better I hope.
Gloria, hope you took Kathi's advice & soaked in a hot tub & are feeling better today.
Rose, Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you didn't celebrate too much last night!
Kathi, how is Sammy?
I'm reading to Aislinn & Emma's classes later this morning so I guess I'd better go find a book! Then off to the store & time to do a little cleaning.
Have a good one.

Thanks for asking about him Paula! Sammy is doing very well, he came through the surgery just fine and he's even being good about not licking the area of the incision. I'm probably feeling worse than he is today, we didn't get home until 8:30 so I am worn out from my long day yesterday! I took the day off to stay home to make sure the other dogs don't try to rough house with him as he's supposed to stay quiet for a while.
Morning all,
Thanks so much for the nice dinner last night and the fun times and wonderful gifts. Thanks again. Ive got to get busy using all my nice gifts!
Amanda - how is Marley? Hope he has passed his problem.
Kathi - how is Sammy? Hope he came thru ok w/o any trauma being away from Mommy.
Oh yeah, how are all you PEOPLE too????
spoke to Amanda a little bit ago. Marley is at the vets now but did pretty good last night.. even ate some and it stayed down. hopefully we will have good news shortly.
all this rain has washed away the residual snow on my front lawn. now I have muck and mud and broken lanterns all over it. John got a couple of them as he was shoveling. as soon as it stops raining I will go out and salvage what's left. next batch will be all metal construction!
working on my project for John.. unfortunately I seem to have more black ink on ME than neatly on the cardstock. one pad was too dry, one pad is too wet and the third seems to be all smeary on the CS. go figure. might post pics later as I progress through...
John will have a car next week and I have already instructed him to go find all the craft stores. I figure I will need to mail back a few flat rate boxes of nothing but Copics.. assuming the Yen conversion isn't too bad. heheheh
Kathi, Glad to hear Sammy is okay and is not holding it against you for leaving him all day.
